Queen - The Hero (Official Lyric Video)
/ queenofficial - Hudba
This could one of the best Queen songs that gets overlooked by a lot of people.
Honestly they have so many quality tunes people over look. Like this and Princes of the Universe.
Lap of the gods too
loved when they opened the bowl with this
As well as Brighton Rock
As is the Prophet’s Song
"The Hero" just kicks all kinds of ass. I think this was my favorite Queen song in the '80s. I played this song until it practically melted on the turntable back then. Totally epic in every way!
ME TOO!! - played it SO much
@@enem54321 if only it were released as a single :(
Should’ve been the B-side of “Flash”
Those vocals are insanely powerful.
No ---go listen to White man - those are truly commanding vocals
@@75redsoxfan No, I still think these are more powerful.
@@75redsoxfan No, YOU!
Stop being 5 years old
The most under rated song in the Queen catalog...
The Fairy fellers master stroke, Jealousy,Lily of the valley.....THE MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN ......
This song should have 10billion views
Fine with me, as long as it's zero listens.
@@ernestogasulla7763 HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY FLASH GORDON!!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That’s right, well said!
There are only 7 billion people on Earth tho.

One of the best solos ever..
his solo on we will rock you is better
I don't think so, but I respect that.. (Y)
Yea the we will rock you solo is better but this one is really good
deaтн.ғaв hmm
No which one is better. It's all opinion. Alot of people say We Will Rock You is his best solo, but I have to say this is my favorite. If you ask me, I think his Killer Queen and Keep Yourself Alive solos are better really amazing.
Freddie is a HERO!!!
+lidia fc so true :)
for getting aids by acting like a teenager allhis life and dying young? you can really achieve a lot when you don;t have to worry about being a human.
@@magicmike6961 Freddie made mistakes, just like all of us, but he didn't leave this world as a loser.
No, he made a huge impact on not only the music industry, but also the lives of many whom enjoyed his fire and passion throughout his life.
Br se fingindo de gringo XD
Magic Mike Freddie achieved more and did more for advancing humanity in one week than you will in your entire life
3:12 I love how much this a-ah resembles the ones in The March of the Black Queen
Brian May....always the rocker in Queen !
Easily one of Queen's most underrated songs.
I remember hearing this for the first time as an eight year old, jumping around my bedroom and acting like I was singing it live in concert, pretending to be Freddie, singing into a pencil like it was a microphone. I still feel like that eight year old kid every single time I hear this. Queen became my favorite band that year. Now in 2020? Yeah, they are still my favorite band. There will never be another Queen.
What a great thumper of a tune. To me, it's a throwback to thier earlier stuff like Keep Yourself Alive or Seven Seas of Ryhe.
The beginning of this song reminds me of Ogre Battle
This song is a full of kick-ass.
Brian May's guitar work is 50% of the reason Flash Gordon was a magnificant work of art.
the other 50 percent was that princess.
I about fell over when she walked on screen
Eternal work of art
Only 50? !!
75%
90% ❤
Man..., Brian May should have prolonged that solo for at least twenty minutes. It's just so immensely beautiful. ❤
Maybe (or probably) Queen's best song. The melody is a punch on the face and the lyrics are very inspirational. Pure rock.
I feel like I could literally punch the Earth in half after listening to this...
please don't....not sure what half you would take out.
Not much of a hero...
Sir Brian May, I would definitely fight in his army !!!
So much power!!
LazarusDangerfield Me after listening to any Queen song
I remember first hearing this in a CD shop via headphones... I got goosebumps.
This song has one of my most favourite intros to any song ever!
+Vaibhav Shah My ringtone
+Vaibhav Shah Max Von Sydow is no joke and neither is the riff
Cool
not its intro intro its flash is the final song
It is just pure awesomeness :)
Freddie's vocal...WOW
Wow, just wow!!! Was there anything Queen couldn't do well??! I think no......actually i know no. LOL. I was not a Queen groupie growing up but knew their bigger hits like We Will Rock You. I have fallen in love with their music since seeing Bohemian Rhapsody (no eye rolls please :) ) and their music is all I want to listen to now. I started making my tour through their albums from the beginning and of course, cannot skip over Flash Gordon. Some songs i like more than others but there is absolutely NO bad song on any album. I continue to be in awe of them - to this day it is unparalleled and IMHO, no band living or dead compares to their incredible talent, amazing concert performances and especially Freddie's phenomenal voice, dynamic showmanship and mesmerizing stage presence!!
Please note that the movie got all the history wrong and not to mention very poorly executed and a disgrace to Freddie's legacy. Please do not fall for all the lies that were told in that movie.
@@noahcrews9149 well, it's not a documentary but a movie!
If there is such a thing as classical electric guitar it is Brian May who has created it.
Brian may a truly great guitarist. One of Britain’s best!
when the group intro stops at 45 secs Roger takes over does one of the best drum intro you will ever hear 👑
Half the tunes from this movie set would've been hits had they been released on other Queen albums, like this one. Queen had so many great songs that they also had a bunch of overlooked gems. If Queen's 2nd tier songs had been recorded by any other band, they'd have been heralded as colossal successes.
Album for album, Queen was one of the most consistent bands for great songwriting; really miss their self-imposed quest for perfection.
I’d say it’s the very most underrated queen song
Brian slays on the guitar here! I don't think Brian gets nearly enough credit for not only being a great writer, but a great guitar player. His style is instantly recognizable. I think part of the issue is that he had so many great contemporaries such as Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, etc. Yet, he rules! The rhythm section here is also quite good. Hearing Freddie sing, it does remind of how he sang on Queen I and II. Either way, amazing song that is underrated.
Who could possibly sing this song so fantastically like Mercury? (From S. Korea)
QUEEN AND FLASH GORDON A PERFECT MIXTURE IN 1980
It find it hard to resist saying "Gordon's ALIVE?????" At appropriate time !!!!!!!
Vat do you mean.....Flash Gordon Approaching?
No one should be able to sing that high and powerfully. A criminally overlooked song that really shows Freddie’s high rock range
it's beautiful to hear Brian sing.
Right there at the top of unjustly underrated Queen songs, with Teo Torriatte, It's Late and Fairy Feller's Masterstroke
I love Freddie, Brin May, Roger Taylor & John Deacon musicians musicians🎸
This song with headphones is a trip to another world. One of the most underrated songs in life.
Somebody to Love and Radio Gaga were always battling for my favorite Queen song until I heard this, The Hero is my favorite Queen song.
There's a moment in the intro where the guitars all sound perfectly in phase and it's like a tidal wave of A power chord coming at you. Sadly whoever mixed it pulls them out again presumably in readiness for Freddie's vocal, but I'd have kept them and just ducked them out the way, they sound awesome!
That guitar tone is godlike
Brian May is the guitar.
Flash!
A-aah!
easily in the top ten songs ever recorded by Queen
"Hot Space" album is fantastic.
I don't understand why queen fans didn't like it at that time.
I love the heros, las palabras de amor, under pressure, back chat etc.
This song is not from Hot Space though. It's the final track on the Flash Gordon soundtrack album.
You have to remember back in 1982 (I was 17-18 yrs old and had seen Queen live 8 times going back to News of the World Tour [once]; Jazz Tour [twice]; The Games Your [4xs]; soon to be 12x after their Hot Space Tour came thru So.Calif. in Sept. of 1982) most of Queen's fan base came from 7 studio albums in the 1970s and only 1 other one in the 80s.. so Hot Space though I like quite a few songs was too much of a departure too quickly. But he'll, I couldn't fault them, they had to keep themselves interested first and foremost and being a Queen fan since the mid-70s I had grown accustomed to album releases that were off the wall or had a song that had that WOW factor....this went farther than that though.
Because it sucks, and this is not from that boring pile
"Observe and Report" brought me here. My number one Idol Ray Liotta vs Seth Rogen. Detective Harrison vs Ronnie.
"you didn't bring enough pigs to hurt me..."
This song is so powerful
man i love this song.
Jesus, Freddie's voice goes hard in this song.
Brian May is a beast
One of the Great movies of the 80s.... Especially when you saw it in the theater..... Like a comic book... Come alive... With a wicked soundtrack.... Take me back...
This video made me go and look up some live performances by Queen. I had seen the Milton Keyes concert but not others. So incredibly amazing. continues to fuel my Queen obsession!!
Show opener when I saw them at Leeds and Milton Keynes
The best show opener!
This is why Queen is the best Rock/metal band in the world.
Queen? God, more like!
is my best melody song ever I heard many times I've never tired when listen again over by over
I still have this soundtrack on vinyl. Not because the movie was great, but because the soundtrack was LEGEND.
My favorite song from flash gordon
0:52-1:39 best part with some C#5
I love love that part
Too....awesome...to...stand!!!! Must...crank...louder!! ; )
This and It's Late always remind me of Seth Rogan's movie where he's a mall cop! Love some Queen! This song gets you off your ass feeling better about life right now kind of rock!
Flash saved (every man, every woman, every child ) with a mighty hand. You painted the whole world with a million colors (everyone of us) in just 20 years with your mighty voice.
Swag🥶🥶🥶🥶
02:13 - my God!... This solo!...😢
one of Brian´s best, but frequently overlooked
haha, ends with an explosion. That's 80s metal for ya!
So you feel that you ain't nobody
Always needed to be somebody
Put your feet on the ground
Put your hand on your heart
Lift your head to the stars
And the world's for your taking
(All you gotta do is save the world)
So you feel it's the end of the story
Find it all pretty satisfactory
Well I tell you my friend
This might seem like the end
But the continuation
Is yours for the making
Yes you're a hero (oooh yeah)
[Instrumental]
Flash!! Ahaaa
He's for every one of us
Stands for every one of us
He saved with a mighty hand (with a mighty hand)
Every man every woman
Every child he's the mighty
Flash! Ahahhhhhh
Vladimir Rafael literally a lyric video
Najlepszy utwór na płycie "Flash Gordon"!
simply awesome
Avengers 4 need use this song!!!!
Outro br
hehe this was already used by another film for the credits ?! :P
No, they should've had Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy and used this song for him. He's like Flash Gordon meets Superman.
@@44excalibur Nah, should've been used for Yondu before he died - the transition from Ravager scum to hero is more stark for him given his past of transporting Ego's children.
@Kenny Hill Nah, I don't think so. There's not much I like about the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. If Adam Warlock isn't there, then it isn't the Guardians. And Warlock's team and Yondu's team never mixed. Different centuries. Besides, Adam's the one with the lightning bolts on his uniform. lol
Can’t stress it enough, isn’t it great to hear Queen going for it at FULL throttle. Proper full volume on the motorway music
More people needs to hear this
The Hero and Flash :)
And this guy still hasn't got a movie about him. -.-
I'm guessing you mean Freddie but that's pretty unspecific
He is getting it for the end of next year.
stajeko the movies bout to come out.
Ffynlo Parnell yeah, with the ugly malek
And it's actually one of the best movies you will see this year. Forget the critics, everyone in the cinema loved it and it was packed.
I love how this is a guitar composition as much as it is Freddie singing. It’s a half and half kind of song.
Brian wrote it
One of Queen's most uplifting songs!
Best movie soundtrack of All time bar none
steviep76 better than highlander?
Not better than Fantasia.
Conan and Dune are on par
Fantastic
this was pretty badass
ahem correction... VERY badass
Anna Russo absolutely, definitively, completely totally kick ass
A Queen soundtrack cant be the same without a Queen extravaganza at the end
What a tune.
Over the top, totally bombastic and sickly self indulgent.......Fking LOVE IT!
BEST SOUNDTRACK TO A MOVIE KNOWN TO MAN.
My speakers have 15" woofers and I'd play The Hero at home. 1930s, double brick, 15' walls. Solid as a rock. The explosion at the end of the song would shake the walls. I kid you not.
That solo at 2:13 sweeps u away
If I was a Major League baseball player this would be my walk-up song.
Omg
Just watched the Flash Gordon movie again (at least 15 years since I've seen it ) and the scene where the Hawkmen fly out of the clouds to attack Warrocket Ajax with this song swelling in the background gave me goosebumps. The fanfare with the A D A riff chugging in the background. Brian Fricken Blessed chewing every piece of scenery.
This is how to make a comic book movie. this is how to make ANY movie.
That song would fit so perfectly on so many soundtracks of comicbook movie blockbusters. ^^
And why this amazing song is not on a QUEEN greatest hits album is beyond me?
No está porque Queen se daba el lujo de no poner esta cancion en grandes exitos
Most underrated Queen song ever
FUCK YEAH!!!
It's 2021, I just finished watching Flash Gordon again and now I'm here...Life is good :)
Turn a guitar playing astronomy professor loose and this is what happens...something epic!
I played my copy of this album to death. The monotone tape recorder I played all my tapes on, chewed it up several times, and once it got chewed so badly I had to cut the mangled bit out and splice it back together with a bit of tape. Listening to this I can still hear in my head, the bit where I did the edit: the music goes wonky for a few seconds then rights itself for the finale. Happy days.
Nobody rocks like Queen.
I feel omnipotent after listening to this
"HE'LL SAVE WITH A MIGHTY HAND!"
To all the idiots who go on about "No Freddie No Queen," I want you to listen to 2:12. Note the three instruments playing, guitar, bass and drums. THAT IS QUEEN TOO.
So you say that John Deacon is a idiot 🤣
@@user-vb1nv3tm6d Nope. He isn't constantly rushing to social media to complain about it. And the new shows wouldn't be happening without his approval. Nice try though.
Yes you're a hero. (c)
I imagine this suddenly banging out at the Flash end credits had people going crazy in the theatre!
Power!
freddie can mumble n i will still think that its a piece of art
When watching Avengers: Endgame, when Black Panther says "Pass it to me Clint" and takes the gauntlet, put on "Football Fight" "Battle Theme" and "The Hero" in that order and it's perfect until Thanos is defeated.
OBRA MAESTRA !!!!
Queen my king
