I love this Cindy! I traveled through Mozambique when I turned 18 and stayed in Tete for a few days. I really enjoyed my stay and would love to do something like that again one day. Thank you for sharing :) Love from Cape Town
Aha! I see you now as a mysterious character from a Wilbur Smith novel, travelling up the Zambezi River for a tête-à-tête in Tete. I hope that your mission was a success!! 😎
Lovely Cindy. I was born in Mozambique but to the south Maputo. Them i was lukey to go and live South Africa, Johannesburg live 30 year. And Now in Portugal. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your Sunday.❤
Mozambique! Very interesting. It was once a Portugese territory, if i remember correctly. You had a lovely accomodation. Your Mom must have been happy to see you.🙂👍👍🇨🇦
Tete is pronounced like the French say head. Lived in Mozambique for 4 years whilst on contract there flew around the whole country at least once a month. Was there when they partly reopened the Cahora Bassa and had been many years ago involved in the rescheduling agreement of the loan repayments of what used to be Cabora Bassa that became Cahora Bassa.
Gee, that brings back memories. My dad had a contract to transport equipment from Harare to Cobora Bassa and I used to travel, as a sixteen-year-old, to attend breakdowns in the late 60's. The hotels were nothing like the one you showed. Although the streets haven't changed apart from the lack of Portuguese military presence. The mechanic and I used to travel very well armed in those days.
24 hours straight travel is no small feat, so glad to see your accomodations were comfortable. Take good care Cindy, I know you are working but rest when you can. 💞
Wonderful to see the great Limpopo river! Ive only seen the Zambezi at Vic falls. Lovely bedsit you were booked in! Gives you an idea to link up your rooms with a verandah asap! A wooden deck is not long term, but a cement one with a few pillars to support ibr roof sheets and gutter to collect water? Nice and wide, for couch with throw for dogs to shelter and keep watch. The kitchen door will have to be primed and painted re water ingress, asap. A "stoep" is such an essential in all weather, and a wonderful outdoor living area. So civilised. Also not essential to tile as a terracotta powder added to the cement mix, is lovely. I did this laying a new floor in my house/stable and with a smooth finish looked great with kelims. One has to think of resale, always and ofcourse lifestyle comfort.
Lovely for you to have a short visit to beautiful Cape Town in our cold Spring weather! We are soo over all the rain! Flowers all blooming up the west coast and fields of yellow Canola and green wheat, and those awesome mountain backdrop. Remember, you get a free cable car trip up Table mountain, in your birthday month! In Winter...weather permitting. Nice for you to enjoy the rugby at C B Zebra pub!!
That was a nice place you were staying at Cindy and now comes a big surprise for your mom 👏👏👏will you be bringing your younger daughter back to Portugal with you👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

Was it fun?
@@CindyVine watch the movie, it'll enlighten you
Stunning place n views❤️
It really is!
Interesting insight into life on the banks of the Zambezi
Lots of poverty!
@@CindyVine : after it became independent from the Portuguese, much gov't corruption as usual has led to continuing poverty
Great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I can hear the Zambezi song in my head. 😂🇯🇲
lol

My younger daughter is in America. I went to Southern Africa. Different continent.

Fascinating visiting there. A teeny tiny but realistic taste a place I will not visit.
It's not a bucket list kind of place.
I always get nervous when you go back to SA after the weeks long papers fiasco . Glad you’re home .
Not home yet, still traveling.
So much for it being winter in the southern hemisphere 🤣 Did you get to practice your Portuguese in Mozambique??
a little
Was it safe ?
Yep, never felt in any danger.
What are you doing in. Mozambique 🇲🇿 young lady ? 😃
Work, visiting a school.
A good chance for you to work on your Portuguese ! Young lady :)
