- Rajesh Magar (RJ) learned to ride a bike at 10 years old, getting lost in the streets of outer Kathmandu. He rode his first technical trails on a bike he made himself with scraps, including; a scooter spring for suspension and piece of plumbing. His riding earned him attention on the mountain and eventually brought him the opportunity to compete and provide for his family. He has gone on to become consecutive four time national champion in Nepal.
RJ’s story is one of boundless dreaming and unstoppable determination, forged from junkyard scraps and tested on the rugged trails of the mighty Himalaya.
Since its premiere, "RJ Ripper" has been featured at film festivals across North America, including 5Point, Fresh Coast and most recently Banff International Film Festivals.

Being a Nepalese American kid that is aspiring to make films, this is hella inspiring. Everything from the composition of the cinematography, to the vulnerability in the story, to the dope Nepalese music you guys put in, really made my heart pump of pride for my parents country of Nepal!
I'm actually going to Nepal this December for the first time with my family, and my god this is a gem to watch! I think this film has given me a good template, along with other films about Nepal and Sherpas, that I have seen around CZcams, to make a short doc on my first time experience in Nepal. 🇳🇵

This is one of the greatest MTB Documentary I ever watched. I do cross country and I' ve ridden with Nepalese few times in Nepal. Some of the greatest humble people in the world and are fun to go riding with. They make you laugh a lot.

I dont know rider like RJ is in nepal riding mountain bikes...I used to watch a lot about mountain bike of foriegeners like Fabio wimber....Danny MacAskill etc...its so glad to see riders like RJ is from nepal...this videos really inspired me about mountain biking ....I am just 16 so I hope one day I will also ride my dream mountain bike ....yeah like RJ says it's hard to make career in nepal by cycling but I hope it will improve!!!

His story was so great and inspiring us . If we work hard nothing is impossible . His first bike made himself and bought only 25$ but now he had a yeti mountain bike( around 10000$ to 150000$ above ) . this is my dream bike . One day i will buy like same bike 😋😋😋

Yeah this really isn’t about mountain biking this was about that beautiful human spirit of self belief and wanting more than being put in box by others because of circumstances. This kid is an inspiration in more ways than i can count...
Me and freinds when moiuntain biking Nepal 27 year ago when it was novel sport rarely known by people there. Unexpectedly, we met a young Nepalese mountain biker in Kathamandu and we coiuld imagine how difficult for him to get supplies of bike parts. So we left him our used tyres and extra parts hoping we could help promoting the sport there. This documentary really brought me this good old momery!
It's so motivational, I think I will also build my own bike for the upcoming race i.e., Assam Downhill Championship. I know I will not get a bike from my parents but I can save some money for the parts tho 🤧
