I gave up looking at GX 470s in the Northeast because of how bad the underbodies were on ALL of them. The rust on this frame gives me so many reminders of seeing GX frame rust painted over on dealer lots and getting mountains of excuses why it's still safe
@@samirchpk1 They all had the weld rust, the issue was the rest of the frame was always awful due to the road salt here. You tell people on the lot it's garbage and they don't want to hear it. I had a wake-up call to this when I was just beginning my search and found one I liked on a dealer lot, but upon closer inspection found the frame was so rotted out I would have lost a fortune if I purchased it. The guy offered $500 off lol. I was without any car at this point, so I ended up settling on a unibody first gen Highlander without the same rust issues, but I'm convinced I'm going to need to drive one from the west coast cross country at this point to ever get one in good condition.
@@thelandcruiserproject Maybe someday, but where prices are right now it's hard to swing a Landcruiser/LX. There's a California-owned GX470 on Cars and Bids atm with no rust on the welds as an example of what non-northeast cars will never see at that age
have to adjust for overall car inflation when calling out "these prices are insance..i paid xyz for a car in 2018" i mean i paid $36k for a brand new 4 runner TRD off road with kdss..world has changed.
Predicted Final Price: Sold for $58,000
Actual Final Price: Sold for $68,500
As always great review
Thank you!

The weld rust is not a big deal common cosmetic issue with LC and LX.

Look at 100s and 80s..the frame welds don't rust out like that first.

Good thing I’m just south of the mason dixon line 😂

The battle of inflation vs depreciation vs demand/supply! It's complicated!
This will go above 65K
Ugh, you're probably right.
I bought 2017 LC with 80k miles around 56k about 6-7 months ago in Colorado pearl white color. I searched nationwide and prices were insane
@@samirchpk1You were right!
