    My point of view after 18 years of JJ. It is absolutely rule number one to be relaxed, to be able to de-escalate a bad situation, but the very second the opponent attacks, you gotta be able to putt enough aggressiveness in every grip, so even a stronger guy will give up on attacking you, either because you hurt his limbs very bad, or because he felt an overwhelming power of the first grips, so he knows he will be hurt real bad, if he goes on.

    When I broke out in the oilfield, with a new crew, everyone was yelling at each other, from the Rig Manager to the worm (me). Once we all got used to each other and the job, there was no yelling because by then, everyone knew their position. We were aggressive and yelled at each other because our lives were always on the line. Once we progressed though, we didn't lose that agression. Agression kept us moving towards our goal every day.

    it's so true about the stamina going lower after getting too aggressive. my co-worker at the gas station cam inside and told me that there was a guy about to hit this woman outside and he was yelling at her, so i poked my head out and ended up getting in a yelling match with the guy. i maybe could have avoided it, but it happened. long story short, i was emotionally kind of hung over and was off on my drawer the next day and knew it was because of being tired. different than yelling at a teammate, except for the fact that the guy was a vet and so am i and i didn't want to call the cops, so i got into the discussion with him that escalated to yelling rather than just calling the cops when he came towards me kind of aggressively. i did see him as a teammate in that sense. i was only asking them to leave rather than stay for the cops to show up and they both then said i had no right, so we began a hip pocket class on the law of trespass, lol. anyways.

      @@magicmooney5011 yeah, that was it though. i'm pretty sure she had that type of thing going on. he and i though had our eye contact and he shut the trunk, got in the shotgun seat and told her to drive. idk. it was stupid to shut the back door. really stupid. i just did it. i did the same shit up in sacramento when i was in law school in my truck reading and some gang banger banged on my truck, i got out and called him out for hitting a man's truck. two times i probably almost got myself shot.

  • @sebastianfranciscovazquez-3007

    Jocko, my brother thinks your video on the protests/riots was a cop out because you didn't call out the bad actions of the parties involved on both sides. I told him that there's no way you would avoid point that out simply because you're scared of stepping on toes and angering the fringes of your audience. I think you didn't bring it up because a leaders job isn't to point fingers and spread chaos; a leader should come with a plan to fix things and then unify to execute the plan and I saw a very unifying message. I just wish that you would have proposed a plan, a way to move forward as a society with that feels divided against itself. Love you and Echo, you guys inspire me to get after it everyday.

    • @justinpettit8282
      @justinpettit8282 Před 4 lety +1

      It's just not his place to do that. That's the only reason he didn't make a plan but he did bring awareness to the people who are allowed to make the "plan" and act on it well that's my opinion atleast Edit: there's a part in leadership strategy and tactics where no one was speaking not even the team leader so he stepped up and barked a order but the leader was upset with him because he overstepped his boundaries so I believe this is the same thing you can bring attention to the problem but you can't always act on the problem

    Systema Russia Martial Art has great breathing techniques to help stay relaxed while in stressful situations. I recommend the book " Let every breath" by Vladimir Vasiliev . It's a short book that teaches you how to breath properly through exercises like push ups and squats with varying speeds throughout the movements.

    yeah ...like training martial arts . a stiff punch is telegraphed and not as fast as a punch thrown when ur more relaxed. and being relaxed allows more precision. same with kicks and u contract when you land it. plus ur able to react to their movements better.

    Uhmm....their dad yelling at them their whole life normally means they hate it and need a different modus operandi...No?....that seems like the fastest way to get ignored and associated with someone they normally ignore. Never seen someone in that situation respond positively to you acting like the ''dumb parent(s)''. Seriously, literally eveyone I ever met who had a parent like that -- that was 100% the parent they tooned out automatically. Like a reflex. They would have to be SUPER dumb for that not to be the case
