I remember MU is the only game where I managed to stay awake for 26 hours straight doing nothing but to farm and grind in MU. For no other game I've ever shown such commitment.

This video has teleported me 20 years back in time. I was able to remember everything, every music effect, every monster and map. And along with this, I remembered so much from my childhood, hanging out with my friends at the internet cafe when nobody had PCs at home yet and best internet was dial-up, and yet we had soooo much fun. I honestly think those times are beating current times by a quite a margin. Now people are just so isolated and technology hype is dying out gradually.
I loved this game because it was simple, beautiful and very engaging with other players, i.e. blood castle, devil something (where you needed a key and an eye to get the pass), parties (to get casts from energy elves and exp share), guilds, trading, quests, golden mob hunting, my god the amount of dopamine this gave us all is very hard to beat by any other game.
I was also there my friend, time passes by quickly. I remember Devias was first called Davias. And eventually you could “warp” simply to other maps, but in the beginning you could only warp at a high level, so you needed to walk to the other maps and find the higher lvl monsters there to get more XP. I still know how to walk to the dungeons, noria and devias. For example to walk to the dungeons from Lorencia city is to walk east/south east untill you find a couple of stones to walk in the dungeons. To go to Devias you walk west/north west from lorencia city. When I was in my teens like 20 years ago I could get such a big vibe out of this, I miss those times! Also when going to join Blood Castle, now you can just warp there when it’s time, but back in the days you really had to travel to Devias and go to the church in the city. There was an Angel where you would give the cloak to get to Blood Caslte.

Grałem na globie w latach 2004-2010. Piękne wspomnienia, piękna muzyka, do której do dziś wracam. Słuchając jej wracają wspomnienia z bramy w Lirencji, rynku pełnego ludzi sprzedających itemy. Sam w ten sposób robiłem, licząc na wiadomość od innego gracza, po powrocie ze szkoły. Na myśli o ogromnej transakcji serce biło mocniej, podobnie, jak podczas "prania" w Norii. Dźwięku lecącego kamienia też nie zapomnę. Obecnie mam 38 lat, ale Mu nie zapomnę do końca życia. Serdecznie pozdrawiam, jeśli masz podobne wspomnienia.

Great childhood memories playing Mu Online on private servers. Sadly these are the times I won't experience again.
This was my first MMO back in 2002, am still very fond of this game although I haven't played in nearly a decade, I might get back at it.
Mu Online, Lineage 2 and Requiem were my go to MMOs.
Diablo 4 will be very similar.
I've never played a game that has made armour, weapons and spells so satisfying. I remember upgrading armour and it glows a different shade, thinking I'm the next Messiah

I get nostalgia madly for this annually. I bought private server files from IGCN specifically so I could just relive the nostalgia whenever I wanted and just give myself all the classic armour. Soul master in full +13 bone with a dragon staff and legendary shield with wings of soul. Love it.

I remember Mu it was a hard mega grinding game and the thirst for bless was very real I would even see bless drop in my sleep
Always love these vids dude, I used to play this with my dad even when I was so little I couldn't read. We had this note book for game notes/saves/cheats/etc and my dad wrote each map with a little drawn icon so I could teleport to the different maps by myself haha

I remember getting on my bike and riding over to my grandmothers house to use their computer and play this game! Getting the legendary set on my dark wizard and having to auto attack monsters to death because my dumb kid self added all points to attack and agility was quite the little misadventure!
UO, MU, Silkroad, Everquest are the ultimate nostalgia MMOs that are still widely played.

Just to add in context. This game was very huge in S.E asia, phillipine, thailand and me in vietnam. Same time when diablo was popular in the US, but this has much more colours to it. It has the power rangers feel to the gears.

Ffs I remember playing so much. I had changed the default music to a playlist of mine and grinded away. In my first few days of playing someone helped me going to places I didn’t even know existed, got gifted overleveled gear. That was my first time being gifted by someone generous online in an mmo and I’ll remember it forever. Strangers being nice to each other in gaming online? Who’d have thunk.

Damn, it brings back some memories, for sure. When I was like 13 years old this was the shit for me. Wings, swords, flashy armour. Now even the best games can't evoke those emotions, not even close. :)
Brings so much memories!!!! I remember running home after class to play. My mom would be so angry everytime she catches my computer just running while I’m at school. I just put my character on afk while leaning on a spot on Devias map. 😂😂😂
What I love the most with MU are the colorful gears and the overall dark vibe. The entire game concept before was a bomb and you can socialize pretty quickly to people while in town. Thats how I met my long time partner until he passed away 7 years ago because of cancer. "He" is the reason why Im doing nostalgia trips by visiting the game once in a while. 🌈🏳️🌈

I used to play this as a 10-12 y.o at my parents until I out of frustration went to a cyber cafe due to having dial up internet crash my games. Long story short the Cyber Cafe did not appreciate me downloading it onto their PCs to play :/
This reminds me so heavily of the first diablo, when I played this after diablo back then I was so heavily shocked how much fun I had with it, It was for me back then better then diablo, I had so much fun.

MU has been one of the greatest games I have played to this day. The combination of MMRPG and ARPG was perfect. The events were great back in the days mainly Blood Castle, Chaos Castle, and Devil Square.
We need something like this again. Something that combines all these aspects.

I started playing this game when it was version 97d+99, before icarus existed etc.. so almost as early as it come out! I always hated when they moved maces to dark lord..I remember using mace of king , phantom mace or mace of gimli with the BK or MG..was such a good time..
theres no such thing as 97d99i version thats that heavy cracked pirated illegal basement server operation tho with the coolest glow and ghetto asf chinese bootleg font ingame 😭

Used to play this game between 2004 and 2007. Wanted to play this game a few times since then. Sadly, every time I try, I get around 5 fps and the game is stuttering like crazy. Sadly, I was never able to find a solid fix for it.

i'd say go for Master Mu if you want a high rate server and Neon Mu is a fully modified server both are pretty fun tbh
