    Hi Ruairdh, what a magnificent place Cala Mesquida looks! Thank you for showing us this beautiful place. You're right about the clarity and 'blueness' if the water! Must admit I've never heard of it before. (Someone's been keeping it a secret!) And no wonder, I wouldn't want to share it with too many people either! Loved the humorous comments too! 🤭. Watching these vids is always uplifting! Keep these coming! Hard work, but somebody's got to do it! 😎 👍

      Susan! Hope you're well... Mesquida is essential stuff, and normally I'd go for paella in the restaurant (not too pricey at all), but couldn't convince the ladies that day. It's a lovely place, and we all agreed: water is the most striking we've seen all summer so far. Really appreciate you watching, makes it worthwhile that people enjoy them :D Speak soon. R

    That´s so funny about most Mallorquins never having been there. Did you know that there are actually many Mallorquins who do not like to go to the beach at all! Many live in inland villages and don´t want to have to go anywhere if they can help it and find the beach too hot!

    • @RuairidhMason
      @RuairidhMason Před 4 měsíci +1

      Same here. I do love walking along the water in the evening, but not roasting in the sun at midday. tbh it´s always the Brits that do that in every country....get red like lobsters....I am a Brit too, but am not Caucasian and was born with a tan :) Lived in Mallorca for six years and now back in London @@RuairidhMason

    • @LaChicaconSuerte-1111
      @LaChicaconSuerte-1111 Před 4 měsíci

      July and August, best to be in a cooler country tbh. I used to go back to London to spend those months there! You just can´t do much for most of the day in July and August in Mallorca except stay in airconditioning or be in the pool from around 4 or 5pm and then to the beach for a couple of hours and see the sunset while having dinner and then back home. Early morning can be okay to be out, but by 11am it´s already roasting and the sun is high in the sky. What is crazy is that a lot of Spanish people do not realize this and visit Mallorca from the mainland and go to the beach in the middle of the day in summer, carrying no water, no hat, and nearly passing out. I have literally provided young Spanish guy and once, a girl, the guy was in his early 20s, girl in early 30s, with water and paracetamol that I had with me as they got heatstroke just walking from the bus stop towards the beach. They had come up to Cala Major on the bus from Palma. Two separate incidents! @@RuairidhMason

    This brings back memories. Even though it was last summer. Cala Mesquida was one of the highlights. I think this is as close as we can get to the beaches in the Caribbean. Looking back it was a very good idea to have rented a car. Saved us from the headache of public transport and not being able to get to hidden jewels on the island. I'm new to your channel, but I have tried looking for a video about renting cars in Mallorca. Perhaps an idea for the next video?

    • @RuairidhMason
      @RuairidhMason Před 2 lety

      Hi Darran, October should be nice and warm all over the island (weather forecasts can change that, but generally speaking)… still beach weather, between 22-26 deg probably (we were on the beach last October). The sea will also be a good temp for swimming as it’s been heating up all summer. For families with kids, hard to beat Alcudia beach. Tons of space, shallow, great water, and supermarkets near by. Also, Alcudia old town is amazing. Check out my Alcudia vid for info. Enjoy the trip!! Any more info, just give me a shout.
