    Population (i.e., labor force) ;
    Touristic Attractions;
    Technological innovations.

      Look at it this way. Country A has a nominal GDP of $10million and population of say 5000 the PPP will be $2000. While country B has a GDP of $200million with a population of 500000 the PPP will be $400. This tell us that hypothetically country A has a population with higher purchasing power. However, Country A can not undertake a project of $15Million simply because it can't afford it. On the other hand Country B can embark on a project of $25Million since it has more money and the population to absorb the products. This explains the economic successes of China and India. The economy of large scale production.

    So dumb, you start with things that gives you an increase in wealth then you rank countries based on nominal GDP instead per capita, thus not wealth but populatoin number is the main driver.
    So countries with population can came at bottom if they have a very low number of people.

      Oil makes up around only about 25% of Nigeria's GDP, even if it makes up a whole lot of the foreign exchange earnings. Other sectors make up the 75% of that GDP. The diversifying efforts over the years is already waking up other sources of forex, continued effort at diversifying means the forex from non oil will only keep growing. This also shows the huge potential of the Nigerian economy if the right steps kept going strong. Some people didn't even realize that the GDP is not mostly from oil. Lots of work still needs to be done to keep improving. Not just Nigeria, all of Africa. Some countries have greater diversified economy with most earnings from non oil but still low general GDP. Africa is a work in progress, more effort is needed

    Not gonna lie, having 90% of foreign exchange, and 80% government revenue depending on Oil and Petroleum Exports like Nigeria is not a recipe for success, especially with all countries globally moving away from Oil and Petroleum faster and faster with every passing year. The Nigerian economy, as long as it remains almost completely dependent on Oil and Petroleum products, is just a disaster waiting to happen.

      What do you suggest? Make money from what you have and diversify is exactly what Nigeria is currently doing. The country should harness whatever gives it the advantage. Mind you this is real wealth. The world can not move away from oil for the next couple of centuries. Most people have the myopic view of oil as meaning petrol. Without the petrochemical industry, that encompasses a whole world of other products; the world will have to revert to the stone age.
