Sarajevo, the city that has seen it all. From playing pivotal role in WW1 to hosting Olympics to become a sieged city in the modern world, this beautiful city has gone through a lot. We explored all the places, especially the two contrasting ones, the tunnel of hope and the Olympics site.
1. Exploring Tunnel of Hope
Tunnel of Hope, was a tunnel constructed between March and June 1993 during the Siege of Sarajevo in the midst of the Bosnian War. It was built by the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) in order to link the city of Sarajevo, which was entirely cut off by the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), with ARBiH-held territory on the other side of the Sarajevo Airport, an area controlled by the United Nations.
