Hey y'all. Sorry that my videos are taking a little longer to come out. Its just that the more I improve with my editing the longer its gonna take to complete a video. Sometimes I also just plain run out of ideas for funnies so I stop. Not to mention all the other things in my life I got going on. I hope you guys dont mind. I'm confident that this one will knock your socks off though, I really went All Out Attack on it. I also wanna give a big thank you to everyone for 1k subs! I'm glad my crazy content could make so many people happy.
Godzilla 2001 aka GMK is here for season 21 of Godzilla Battle Line. I'm always hyped for a new Godzilla and I am happy to announce that this unit is one of the best we've gotten, ever. He's an absolute beast on the field, as he should be. I just have a few nitpicks with him that aren't related to how he performs in battle, but we'll get to that later.
GMK is a 6 cost unit that has a long range aoe attack with stats similar to G54. He also applies a -10% attack debuff on spawn and on death in a massive area around him. He's basically a more expensive but stronger Hedorah that can go toe to toe with some of the meta's most notorious threats and come out on top. He absolutely destroys Battra and Biollante because his debuff also removes their attack buffs. His debuff is especially handy in overtime, where there is less room to avoid it. And even if he didn't have the debuffs the aoe alone makes him insanely strong. The splash damage is huge and can snipe the enemy leader from much farther than you'd expect. GMK feels very plug n play too, much like Hedorah. He'll work in pretty much any team. So I decided to use all kinds of teams for this video. Obviously you'd wanna pair him up with Dimension Tide to not only group enemies up for his aoe attack, but also group them up to be hit by his debuff when he dies.
GMK has few flaws, his attack speed is almost 3 seconds making him very susceptible to getting stun locked by Minilla and Neronga. His cost is 6, so kinda expensive. You may want to run Energy Base with him but it's probably not necessary. The debuff is only -10% and it only lasts 10 seconds, but that doesn't matter. What makes it good is that it removes any buffs that the enemy currently has, which cripples Biollante and makes Battra more manageable. It also deletes the all powerful G89 leader buff. No other unit in the game can do that like he can, and still be a beast on the field as well.
My main problems with this unit have nothing to do with him in battle, it's just that his model and animations aren't as good looking as they could've been. First of all his spikes do not light up when firing his atomic breath like all other Godzillas do, and they are completely paper thin like G89's. It looks as though this model was supposed to be in the game since launch, that's how dated it looks. Several Godzillas released before him, like G54, Shin and G04 have 3d spikes so why not GMK? His animations are also a bit awkward. The model moves so stiffly and in some areas there are major pinch points like at the base of the tail that look especially bad, like his tail scrunches up into his own body when he does his basic attack. He also used to do MG21's roar on spawn, but this was fixed recently. One thing they did right however is give him a unique death animation where his atomic breath shoots out of his neck like it did in the movie.
Overall GMK is a fantastic unit that actually puts a dent in the current meta, but he doesn't look as good visually as some of the new units we've gotten recently. But that hardly matters for most players. GMK is looking like a top priority unit to invest G Materials on, because not many units can deal with Battra and Bio like he can. I expect to see this guy everywhere in the coming months.
In other news were anticipating the next GBL Summit in a few hours so I'll see you guys on Sir Melee's stream. I really hope we get a new map, but like Melee said we're overdue for collab stuff
so thats what I'm betting it will be. Balance adjustments also dropped with more buffs for Destoroyah and Shin. But they also decided to buff train bomb again for no reason and im not diggin that. Its already busted as shit and its only gonna make ranked more cheesy. Trains are now infinitely better than missles, like what do the missiles even exist for now? Its just a gold trap for new players who don't know any better.

To say that GMKGOJI is a very good piece is an understatement, without a doubt the meta has changed a lot and it's no wonder. Its attack range, the stats it has and the passive ability to reduce enemy damage make it one of the best pieces they have added to the game and also a very fun piece to use in any deck.
The only bad thing about GMKGOJI is when he becomes the leader, because there I feel that he is weak a lot, with a somewhat confusing passive ability in my opinion, but that would be all the bad things I could say. PS: Excellent video, Weenee and congratulations on reaching 1k subs, you deserve it more and a good battle we had by the way 👍.
