    Glad to hear you really enjoyed the PX bottle. Gives me more interest in seeking out other GD PX bottles. Great review.

    Great review, guys! Absolutely love these high-aged single cask GlenDros. They pop up from time to time on Euro-sites for ~$300-350--they go quick, so you always got to jump fast at that price. I've picked up 8 or 9, all having varying degrees of very good to fantastic.

    This sounds amazing ! Going to wait for a special occasion to taste the sample of this. Had Keith's previous 1994 19yr and 1993 23yr PX ones that were just fantastic but you all seem much more enthusiastic about this one. Thank you Keith !

      Keith kills it with the glendronach buys, but he really knocked this one out of the ball park.

    Great review guys and good to see Keith! I'm opposite of Mike with Glendro. I'm all about the oloroso with Glendronach. I will say that the PX cask ones get closer to oloroso in the older ones (north of 25 years). Search out these Glendro casks- 647, 334, 658, 652, 653, 64, 3292, 102, 660. Just some off the top of my head.

    Great video, love everything about the older bottles. Just saw a new release of 1992 single cask (217) 29 year old Oloroso Sherry butt, 55.4% - $799. I'd probably buy this 27 year old at $500 given the notes in this review and I love oak monsters. Great stuff.

    Love the Glendro videos. You gave casks 6734 and 5962 both 90 - 91 pts. They were bottled by Barrie and both PX puncheons. I wonder how many times Mr. Walker passed on those 2 casks ; ) I have the 27yr 1992 PX cask 5850 open and it's bonkers....another Barrie bottling but the 1993 24yr oloroso cask 652 is still my favorite cask. That was a Walker bottling. You can't see through that bottle. Cheers guys!

      @@topshelfdustin3060 it's a great question that we will never know. He released a ton of single cask bombs. I would have to bet that he used up the best casks while he was there. Hopefully there are still some left for RB to bottle.

    R.I.P GlenDronach, They used to be everything a sherry matured whisky lover wanted but they’re recently putting out some bottles with questionable quality not to mention chill filtering their whisky.
    Some of these single casks are epic but as you mentioned hard to find in US.

    I didn't realise this about Rachel Barrie . Can you explain how she is damaging Glendronach? This bottle sounds like heaven!

    • @DonnerPassWhisky
      @DonnerPassWhisky Před 2 lety +2

      Billy Walker was the owner and did what he wanted. Rachel Barrie is an employee of Brown Forman a publicly traded corporation. She has to do what she is told. They want a return on all the money they spent to buy the distillery. They are trying to expand into a larger market (Asia) and are now chill filtering. Also the gap during which the distillery was closed has ended so their age statment core range no longer contains casks much older than the number on the bottle. The supply of these amazing single casks is probably drying up too. She is an easy person to be upset with for all this.

      @@DonnerPassWhisky Thanks. Now I'm getting a clearer picture of the complaints from other whisky fans I have been hearing about Glendronach. Sad times ahead for whisky production and pricing I fear!

      Yeah to donner's point, I don't want to lay all that blame on her, but if you see her name...it's a concern. That being said she should have the power and the voice to stand up to SOME of the stupid. Case and point, why in the world would they chill filter their 21 year old that the bottle at 48%? It's simply note needed. I'd also just add...I don't think she's exceptional with her blending choices either. Not bad but she's not the first person I want blending for me either.

      have to ask keith, I know he hunts these things over in the UK pretty hard. You'll never see it anywhere close to that in the states. I saw a 27 year single cask in the states for 1,500. Insanity.
