Works is all that matters. This is the answer I have been looking for but for opposite method. My table is on casters and am happy with how well it moves across rough floor but not so much when using tool. This will allow me to lift to support when needing to use.

I know this is 2yrs old, but I just saw it. I was seeing the same issues you had on the ideas. This is what I totally needed. I’ll send you pictures of it when done, if you want. Thank you again!

Have you seen the video of the guy that made the cam actuator for the casters? its a real good desing. I can send you that info if you want an alternative design. I personally like it

@@lexteakmialoki5544 I’ve seen that one and thought about it, but your design works better with what I have and the square tubing my table is made out of

Here is a link to the caters on ebay. Seemed the best deal I could find. They are holding up nicely. www.ebay.com/itm/4-Pack-5-Inch-Caster-Wheels-Swivel-Plate-Total-Lock-Brake-On-Red-Polyurethane/262722068863?epid=1378721016&hash=item3d2b74a17f:g:eZoAAOSwHMJYLMm5:rk:1:pf:0

Thanks for sharing. I got great ideas from your post if nothing else. I need something like this for a metal lathe bench, but fear the "wonky" deployment of the casters in your design might make it susceptible to tipping. Using your design and that from 'beingabetterhandyman' has me thinking though!
Your leg adjusters have an uncanny resemblance to that of ball hitches! Are they adjustable, and how do you lock them?
    Again, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for contributing. My casters had a built in lock and I removed them so that was my solution. I was really more concerned about the mobility than than the stability. I believe there are better solutions out there but this was my quick solution. After posting this I truly believe the cam style lifting mechanism is superior.
