A million explanations of the Zone System out there and yours is the first that ever made sense to me. Thank you.
To avoid confusion, you might use the terms--density and D-max (maximum density) rather than "dark" and "light" to describe the relationship between film exposure and development and how that relationship affects highlight and shadow detail.
Excellent explanation of the zone system.
This is great information, and you are an excellent presenter. Thanks for sharing!
Your presentation has been very helpful indeed... I am getting back to landscape B&W with a 5x4 as a project in my 60s now. Having seen Adams photos 30 years ago - it is really great to visit the whole idea of exposure - please feel free to do more sharing of your thoughts and experience - I want my landscape project to slow down and it be a object of reflective intention - to make some good shots to leave to the grand children
William Mortensen covers the same concepts in his earlier book on negatives. You might find it of interest.
Yeah, I second that, part III?
Nice videos
Hi, I'm new here, and also new with 4x5" format photography.
I just started with a Graflex Super Speed Graphic 4x5 and the results are very good.
The problems arrives when I try to synchronize the flash unit with the camera on the modality Built-in Synchronize Shutters.
Is there any one of you who knows if there is a CZcams video or so, where it's shown how the flash unit has to be connected correctly to the camera Graflex Super Speed Graphic, using the Built-in Synchronize Shutters system?
Thank you so much!
Set the shutter on "M" instead of "X." If that is not an option. Slower shutter speeds may work. Flash bulbs take longer to burn and achieve full light than electronic flash.
Did you grow tired of this medium?
We want to see part three! :)
where is part 3?
Glad to see you give him the credit he deserves.
