Yes,self-esteem is from core value and a believe that you deserved love and respect as much as other and you do not distort but respect yourself.And self-confidence is believing in your own abilities which gets better from achievements,fulfilling your task,succesfully carrying out your plan etc.Self-esteem is internal and self-confidence is external and they depend on each other in such a way that if you don't have self-esteem you definitely have no self-confidence.But Ego is an illusion which is created from our psychic defense mechanism to protect ourselves from life threatening situation or from adversity whereby it hides our true nature or from shame.The outcome is generally not good as we all experience.In the long run,this ego mentle so clouded a person mind it makes him uncertain of anything,confused of right and wrong and stuck in life which often leads to depression.The Ego doesn't fight your self-confidence,it fights your Self-esteem because that is where your power lies.The difference between your ego and self-confidence is that self-confidence need not be agressive or make you act on your impulse plus you do not act without thinking of the consequence first,most importantly you do not get annoy when people tell you the truth instead you appreciate it.But your ego makes you feel satisfied or make you feel like a champion at the moment but it never makes you happy inside ever.If it makes you happy somehow,its probably your inflated ego which you build up quite long before.When you have no healthy self-esteem,what you build up as your self-confidence are just inflated ego.

I'm sorry I'm confused, the title is high and low self esteem, while a good lecture, I learned much, what does this have to do with self esteem? Or perhaps the title on my computer is wrong, could someone please help me understand a bit more?
