#jerryseinfeldinterview
Jerry Seinfeld (b.1954) is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director. He is known for playing a semi-fictionalized version of himself in the sitcom Seinfeld, which he created and wrote with Larry David. The show aired on NBC from 1989 until 1998, becoming one of the most acclaimed and popular sitcoms of all time. As a stand-up comedian, Seinfeld specializes in observational comedy. In 2005, Comedy Central named Seinfeld the "12th Greatest Stand-up Comedian of All Time". Seinfeld created The Seinfeld Chronicles with Larry David in 1988 for NBC. The show was later renamed Seinfeld to avoid confusion with the short-lived teen sitcom The Marshall Chronicles. By its third season, it had become the most watched sitcom on American television. The final episode aired in 1998, and the show has been a popular syndicated re-run. Along with Seinfeld, the show starred Saturday Night Live veteran Julia Louis-Dreyfus and experienced actors Michael Richards and Jason Alexander. Alexander played George, a caricature of Larry David. Seinfeld is the only actor to appear in every episode of the show.
Tom Snyder (1936 - 2007) was an American pioneering television personality and figure in broadcast journalism who brought a no non-sense attitude to broadcast television news. He was best known for his late nigh talk shows Tomorrow (NBC) and The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder (CBS). His engaging style combined with his irascible attitude, made him one of the best known journalists of his time, back when having a nationally televised and thought provoking late night talk show actually meant something. It was a totally different time in television, as the news was delivered as information with no spin or opinion of the newsman. He marked the end of an era.

Tom is amazing. Thanks for bringing this interview back to life.
Your welcome & my pleasure. Thanks for watching…
There was nothing like getting off work from my restaurant gig and watching Tom masterfully interview someone. The guest never mattered. He always made it interesting and kept the viewer engaged. The GOAT.
Wow Tom was spot on …it’s been 30 years and Seinfeld is and has been the standard
One of the best Seinfeld interviews I’ve seen.
Anyone who mattered knew that Tom Snyder was the man that you wanted his respect. The last true Broadcast legendary crossover. The King Maker.
Perfectly said. Tom was special.
Im surprised at Jerrys humble beginnings, also how charming and unpretentious he is here. The early Jerry was gold man. What a great show.
@DC PARODIES he’s just a little grumpy now
I think at least part of the “grumpy” is put on because he knows it’s funnier….
HA!! You should meet him in person!!!!
@@robertedson2374 meaning you did and he was grumpy? Was it circumstantial ie his being interrupted or similar?
@@jimrockfish1875 Grumpy! He practically took my head off when I commented on how much he looked like Jerry Seinfeld!! HTH did I know he was really JS!!??
Tom Snyder brings out so much goodness in everyone! Such a great guy, RIP Tom!
He had such a good show. I liked him too.
Very true. Very congenial man.
Yeah, I definitely miss the Tom Snyder show❤
Seeing and hearing TS warms my heart! I really miss him...
Dude was right about the bigger window in season 1. It was like a huge sun light or something
How could anyone not love Jerry and Tom
I believe “Seinfeld” has many comedy gems however, the lawyer character and his interaction with Kramer is laugh out loud comedy heaven.
9:53 stephanie sounds like jerry's date who said "i can't be with someone if i don't respect what they do." jerry's like, "but you're a cashier".
Not that there's anything wrong with that
Tom Snyder was right twenty years from now Seinfeld will be considered one of the great shows on television
Right up there with I Love Lucy. I can't stand _I Love Lucy,_ but Seinfeld is great.
Jerry was wonderful on Seinfeld and his chemistry was great with Jason Alexander. George was the funniest character on the show and Jerry played off him superbly. And Jerry’s reaction to all the characters was Golden.
George was annoying imo, and Kramer was the funniest. That's just my opinion, and I'd put Jerry right behind Michael Richards
@@paradiddle5150 You just do not get George sadly and you lack a sense of intelligent humor. He was hysterical. He was the show and he was Larry David. Kramer acted like an idiot.
I remember these interviews and it brings back really vivid memories. The 90's were so interesting
Tom was amazing! Always a Great Interviewer!
best interview i've seen with Jerry
Agree and I think he respected Tom Snyder.
2:57 - Never really thought of the Jean Shepherd connection, but it makes so much sense.
“They laughed when I said I was going to be a standup comedian, they’re not laughing now.” Les Dawson
How good was Tom? He was so great with one on one interviews.
One of the best!
He was an outstanding late night personality. I'd put him up there with Carson and Letterman.
The best part of this show was that there was no audience. It was so different for the time and intimate. I couldn’t get enough of it. I was a teenager in the 90s and I stayed up almost every night to watch this show.
At first I was irritated by him talking over Jerry but realized I like it better that way. It’s more natural like a normal conversation.
"I still have the first $20 bill I ever made!"
"Yeah, people say that about you..."
21:50 he was correct
Wish Tom had been blessed with better health for a longer period of time, he was such a unique gem and gave so many of us an intellectualism in journalism that was largely absent at the time.
Tom Snyder = GREAT INTERVIEWER
In junior high I LOVED getting up after everyone was asleep and watching Tom Snyder and his interviews.

A year after this seinfeld did an episode about the twirling umbrella lol
That's gold, Jerry! Gold!
In the 90s if you were home, his show was on
Tom Snyder was at the top of the line of talk show host. Honestly, not many could compare to him.
I feel so old watching this 😂. I was lucky enough to see him when he toured Australia a few years ago . It was GOLD jerry GOLD. I've been a fan since I couldn't truly enjoy or relate to most the material. The cast was Magical even the guests.
Tom snyder is the best host ever
Boy i remember staying up till 1am and flipped through the channels but never seem to find great stuff like this! 😂
Reminds me of Dan Aykroyd. And one of the best Seinfeld interviews.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching…
Dan Ackroyd Best role in trading places , so funny
I’m jealous that he got to see Kaufman in person.
Jerry comes on to listen to Tom. But seriously Jerry was poised and funny and Tom was respectful which redeems him
The Seinfeld show is definitely The Honeymooners or the All in the family of its time. Which is numero uno number one. No other show at that time or in that decade could even compare to Seinfeld. Those four people were amazing and together they were unstoppable. 😎😎😎😎
15:00 I was actually more interested in the question of the window than what he thinks of superman…
thats the best thing about jerry is, hes not a whiner, but he is a winner
I wanted to hear more about that window. A shame Tom cut him off.
Funny how they were talking about when to step away. Then a year later or less the cast decided "ok, one more year".
THIS FORMAT : JUST HOST, GUEST AND PHONE-INS needs to come back !
Tom Snyder understands.
11:22
Golden moment. Imagine receiving that much praise for your efforts. Everyone in your life deserves a "Jerry" moment. Get to work. xox.
Teddy Padillac invented the Twirl.
A rare gem of late night. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching. Tom Snyder was a class act.
Tom Snyder was my number one big crush rip my tall handsome man love anne ox
About this time I saw Him at NAU, he did 2 hours without one single 4 letter word. I remember laughing so hard it hurt. 😅😊😂
Seems like a nice young man. Hope he can make a decent living for himself.
He turned out ok. He is worth almost $1 billion.
@@Rob_Kates happy to hear he did ok. Thanks
@Lynn Truman 🤣
There's always a Netflix Special...
Amazing interview
Great interview. Thanks for uploading
I miss Tom!
Two greats here.
The one who tried to make Jerry recall the big window was extremely creepy. Tom's response was on point.
But he did have a huge window in the pilot. I just checked. LoL
@@MH-Tesla Damn you! Now I have to go check for myself. Thanks a lot.
It was geeky and obsessive, creepy’s a bit harsh.
Yayyyy..I LOVE THE TOM AND JERRY SHOW 😁
Jerry punched me in the face😂...TRUE.... accidentally @Caesars Palace Colosseum when I opened the curtains for his performance... I treasure that ...who else can say that ?lol👍..oh yeah..btw I sued him for 100 Million $.🤑
Seriously, like, how could anyone not like him
I used to watch this show. Where does the time go?
What's with the callers in love with the sound of their own voice.
This breaks My heart to see how Jerry was charming and lovely those days and now he's completely different guy :(
21:43 Bang on
I know I've probably seen this before but here I go again...
Poor Jerry. No one told him about the toothpaste residue... Anyway, I missed what Jerry said on Cathy's "Tom & Jerry" bit. It sounds like, "I love your locks"? Anyone catch that? Tom really laughed and then Jerry said, moving on...around 17:30
Good question. No idea. I presume it's a Tom and Jerry reference?
Tom repeats it at 19. It's definitely "I love your locks." Maybe a famous Cathy in the mid-90s who had pronounced locks?
I love your "lox" because Cathy was from Nova Scotia.
oh god cosby mentioned lol 😬
Tom Snyder is very quick
This is the most 90s thing I’ve seen all day
I've always been a huge Jean Shepherd nut. I totally get it.
Thanks, ADV. I needed a belly laugh today, especially after Biden's "The State of Repair" speech.
Esa voz es privilegiada.
happy 69th birthday jerome allen seinfeld !!!!
Hell yeah
I miss the way interviews were done. I can’t stand the way Modern Day Society does it. If I’m being interviewed, I want the camera directly pointed at me when I’m talking vice versa.
17:35 "I love your locks."
I don't get it. What was that aboot?
There are two canal locks in Nova Scotia. It was just a dumb joke that was funny at the time.
I think that he was referring to their lox.
It's the Tom and Jerry show!
Back when Seinfeld was nice and charming. Seems like a long time ago.
He is not anymore? What happened?
@@LELAND_PALMER Barrels of cash and endless fame.
He's gotten older and crankier but also funnier (see also George Carlin).
@@LELAND_PALMER Money changed his personality :(
He had tons of money and fame in 1996 as well haha
I'm not crazy or anything. Jerry, I don't know sometimes.
Wait, was she quoting Kramer talking to Fred Savage, or did Jerry use her saying "I'm not crazy" as inspiration for the show?
just discovered this show. this guy is a great interviewer. don't need to compare, but he's better than charlie rose. much less.... smarmy
Tom Snyder was one of the best ever. Sincere & great listener.
17:37 Could anyone who understands explain the "Lox/Locks" joke Jerry refers to? Tom and Jerry yada yada but what was the "L" bit? Further, if anyone knows what The Kids In The Hall vaudville bit was talking about with the "saved you from those seals" was referring to that would also help. czcams.com/video/Wdx0ru1jE04/video.html
The lox reference had to do with the caller being from Nova Scotia.
gosh what stupid call in questions
The general public is stupid.
Howard Stern hated Snyder so much just to copy his interview style.
Jerry, this fruit is subpar!
The interviewer is acting.
The Jerry of yesterday is better than the TM Jerry of today. He traded comedy for meditation, and that wreaks of new age-y cringe. Not a fan of that. Hard pass.
Seinfeld was so reverential and affable here. Nowadays he’s moved on to completely aloof contemptuous billionaire.
He has not , would you want people tugging on you all the time .
@@kenj.8897 Right. Cuz nobody bothers multi millionaires.
Good for him.
Aloof, maybe. But contemptuous of who?
jerry was the least funny of the cast and proved it after the show ended and he did an HBO special where he died. He thinks he is funny and due to the stupidity of the masses he became rich
I have noticed that great stand-up comedians tend to make bad sit-coms, and bad stand-ups make good sit-coms. Both Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld are genius at making sit-coms but I don't think they are the least bit funny doing stand-up.
dumb..keep watching Carrot Top
He's not hilarious or anything but a solid show business guy. Was well oiled and polished enough to be able easy on most general audiences. Although nowadays he seems to be quite out of touch.
Leaving aside hilarious, he isn’t even funny. Charming, sure.
Snyder - " When you go out to dinner you dont say something funny "
100% wrong . a comedian is always on. they have to be in order to create new material . Sure there are serious moments but if you are a comedian there's always an opportunity to e funny .
Snyder is an annoying interviewer as he tries to control the interview by trying to get the guest to agree with him
Tom Snyder is terrible. Like a bad Jimminy Glick. Jerry is cool.
What you don't like that hair??
wow , snyder is arrogant and annoying on a galactic size scale
Seinfeld isn't funny.....but he knows what is funny
