More importantly you have an absolute cream of the crop individual. He is and always will be a great football player and an even better person. True role model for sure. It’s crazy when you think about how Darnold is still only 26 years old. Feels like he’s been in the league forever. By all accounts he’s a good dude. Would like to see him have a Rich Gannon/Geno Smith/Baker Mayfield type career redemption.

He has played for the worst run organizations outside of San Francisco, where he really didn't even play, there might be some upside still unseen. Either way he isn't our number 1, I don't think he starts week 1, we will move up in the draft.

Darnold isn’t as bad as his numbers appear. He played for two terrible organizations and was thrown to the wolves right out the gate. I’m optimistic he will have a decent season.

As a Vikings fan for 60 + years, I've had the gut wrenching privilege to watch backs Walter Payton and Barry Sanders run all over us for years. I would get the same feeling of mixed emotions of respect with Mr. Jones. But now, for the first time that I can recall, we get that massive, intelligent wisdom and skill on our side that was formerly opposition. And surrounding Mr. Darnold with this much talent and leadership will finally allow him to showcase his true abilities. Everything about this is intelligent and I look forward to this next season! Thank you, gentlemen!

As a packers fan I ain’t underestimating Sam Darnold. As a usc fan as well I watched him play in college and with the right players he can play.
Also all this talk about how Sam is going to play for a few games and then the rookie takes over....is absolutely silly.
Being thrown into the fire as a rookie is what got Sam in trouble and I doubt the Vikings would want to repeat the steps of the Jets with whomever they draft.
Barring a catastrophic 0-6 or 1-7 beginning, Sam is going to start the entire season (that's my fearless prediction) and we will see once and for all : Can he get it done with a team that is NOT a dumpster fire like the Jets and Panthers?
Should be an interesting season.

I think that Sam knows that he's arriving to an organization where he can be as good as he wants to be. The Jets threw him in deep water with practicality zero protection or playmakers. It was no better for him in Carolina. Last season he finally got to see how a winning organization operates in SF. He does have talent, the big "if" is can Kevin O Connell put him in situations where Sam can be consistently successful week in and out. If so, I think Sam could surprise some people.
It also helps that he has his mentor McCown as his QB coach.
Let's go SAM!!! You are the man! Can't wait to see what you can do!

As a stop gap qb I think Darnold is a great signing. Mind you he is on alert that he will have to battle with whoever Vikes draft at Qb this year. JJ to JJ has a ring to it, but Bo Nix has been my pick since last year. Don't be surprised if Vikes go BPA at 11 and sneak their way back in the 1st rd an nab Nix. We'll come back to this post after the draft, either way its an exciting time. As a bonus we got AJ who has spoiled many Sundays for us glad he's on the good guys side now....SKOL!

As a Packer fan and live in Wisconsin I am saddened by the departure of Aaron Jones, but I am also happy for him and hope the best for him too. When I found out I was very upset that the Green Bay Packers and Aaron couldn’t of found a middle ground. I was also upset that they sent him to a team that was in our league so we get to see him twice a year still which doesn’t make me very happy because he could hurt us in those two games he plays against us. I hope he stays healthy for you all. I think Aaron is a better runner on grass than he is on turf but we’ll see. Go Pack!

Sam Darnold was QB2 in San Francisco because, rightfully, Brock Purdy earned QB1 with his surprising rookie success. In an open competition, I would have bet on Darnold all day. Nobody would have been talking about a passing game that focuses on the middle third of the field, which was the narrative on the 49ers 2023 passing game.
