    Nice one Rob. Good to see the mice didn't move in under the boards. Will the beds just be strawberries this season?
    Cheers mate.

      Now if I can just keep the mice out of our house!!! I'll do the normal veggies in the beds again. Lettuce, chard, tomato, celery, basil, and maybe some cukes

    I find the use of the pumps, tubes, and liners fascinating, but it looks like so much work! I wonder if there is some kind of clay pond or whatever that could resolve some of those issues?

      Probably no different then spending lots of time rototilling and picking weeds...just shifts the labor from one area to another. I seem to recall seeing the Jeb Gardner channel spending a lot of time drilling holes in totes, hanging up lights, an washing all kinds of things. 🤔😉 Thanks Jeb, good to hear from you!

    This gave me an idea you could do for videos - show the life cycles of each plant that you grow. Tips, techniques, etc. Just kinda record throughout the year and then at the end of the year you could pull together videos for each plant type. Similar to your strawberry video

    When I was a kid pools had snakes. High pressure water lines that came out of the walls of the pool. The snakes would whip around and agitate all the dirt and debris off the walls and floor, allowing the main pump to suck it all up and therefore clean the pool. It’s a old technology and pools no longer use this, but it seems that could be useful for you.

      @Bigelowbrook  Před 2 lety

      I thought about doing something like that but I was concerned the snakes would rip the roots apart!

    Love your content Rob! Im New in the community and after seeing a loooot of your videos I couldnt see this mentioned. How much water you consume once your system is running? Any percentage from your total initial gallon usage you need to replanish? Cheers from Mexico

      Welcome aboard! With the current setup it holds about 6000 gallons. During the summer months I will usually top off about once a month and add around 4-500 gallons. That's nothing compare to what my evaporative cooler uses which is about 300 gallons on a hot day!

      I can imagine. I think heat will be my main issue (of many), but this helps. Thanks for replying back, and again, AWSOME job!

    Can you PLEASE do all of us a favor and find a way to thank your supporters in a way that is not a monotone voice over with the star trek scrolling theme? WE ALL know you appreciate them. But PLEASE edit a 15 second INTRO (or outro) for your videos that gives them credit without making us pull our hair out. Honestly I love your videos and have learned a lot from them but I avoid them for a few days after you upload them because I can't stand the way you drone on and on with the thank you's.

    • @Bigelowbrook
      @Bigelowbrook  Před 2 lety +4

      The Patreon thank you clip is less than 15 seconds. I'm sure you can hit the mute button or skip over it if you find it so displeasing.
