Thanks for making a helpful video instead of talking about your build and dream car for 20 minutes

Make sure to bleed the engine too, you gotta turn accessory mode on. Put car in comfort mode. Heat at full, fan at lowest setting. Then hold the accelerator down for 12 seconds.

How do I know it’s done, did it with the cap on first and after 12 minutes I took it off and the car started pouring into the reservoir but it was taking long so I stopped and turned the car on and went for a drive and the temperature was going up normally

@@BabyWillo16 once you notice it’s just a clean flow of coolant you should be go, if the coolant is still coming out choppy that means there’s still sum air in the coolant system

How do you get accessory mode on? Just replaced the line and no engine raises revs on idle on and off?

Thanks for this vid, changed mine in 2 mins - quick tip, you don’t actually need to take the clip fully off. There is a groove sits on when pulled half way out.

This happened to me very recently with my OG M2 with literally no indication except noticing a bunch of fluid leaking out of the engine bay and some slight burning after getting home. When I popped the hood it was apparent something on the driver side of the bay had blown. No "oh crap, that's bad" burning smell you'd expect with engine oil and the inner bay splatter pattern gave me the general area of what burst.
When things cooled off I was able to get more into the engine bay and give things a more thorough look over where I noticed the coolant hose feeding into the engine had the hose actually rupture and break off from the connector itself. So the connector was still in place and the hose was just dangling about. You can grab the coolant hose for around $25-30 depending and then another $6-26 depending on how much coolant you're replacing (or admixing with distilled water).

Everyone has the same problem with this hose on a F3X 335i/340i. Similar defects on E9Xs. Hose is about $40 online, so buy two in advance to keep in the trunk, since it breaks around 50k-60k miles like clock work. Push in the new hose all the way into the fitting next to the oil filter housing....otherwise it might fall out. BMW Coolant is $20-$25 online. 50/50 mix with distilled water. Need to bleed the engine using an automated process. Check the procedure online.
More bad news. The N54/N55 engines have an electric waterpump and electric thermostat. They both fail at 50k-60k miles, right after your BMW warranty expires. $2500 repair, including 6 hours of labor at the BMW Dealership. If you don't have a warranty, go to a BMW Indie Shop. LCI F3X with the B58 Engine, uses a mechanical waterpump, and doesn't have this problem. Code is 20A701 / 20A804.
