    Would be great to see recommended installers for aftermarket additions, just gives peace of mind when someone is about to mess with your electronics. Maybe get the dealer to add if your car is still in warranty is an option.

      True, I know Crutchfield does that for stereos. But it also said the closest recommended installer was 30 miles away from me. The folks I used were quite good.

      @@DrivenCarReviews Good point, living in NA Arkansas, finding a good independent brand specific mechanic let alone an installer is difficult. If by word of mouth and/or reviews you can find a good service provider that is a good solution. I like the way APR and others can point you towards service providers that they recognize, but agree, that can be a road trip :/

    I have this camera, been trying different settings and trying plugging the wires in differently but I cannot get the parking mode to enable when I turn the car off. Main camera stays on despite the screen showing that I have parking mode available.

      Makes more sense. Nice camera. Is it hardwired to the car or plugged into the USB port?

    • @andrew86-82
      @andrew86-82 Před 11 dny

      @DrivenCarReviews I plugged it into the USB at first. Now I have the wires tapped into the fuse box. I put the vcc wire on the battery fuse and the acc wire on my fog light fuse, black wire I hooked to the negative battery terminal. It shows up on the screen when I turn the car on that parking mode is available but after turning on all the settings for parking mode and shut my car off it is still running the main video mode and won't go into parking mode. I even switched the wires going to the opposite fuses and reset my camera each time but I can't get it to work.
      Thinking I will have to contact the company directly unless I'm missing something lol

    No sponsored "review" will ever be truly subjective. It makes me question every video I've ever watched of yours. Unfortunately it also means I'm hitting the unsubscribe button and will be encouraging everyone I know to do the same. I guess money trumps integrity.

      @@DrivenCarReviews Hey Tom, I've been watching and enjoying your content for years. I'm spending the time to write this (and give you some free engagement) because of the trust and respect that you've earned through all of your hard work.
      The main issue with sponsored reviews is that reviewers are disincentivized to be even mildly critical of products they get for free and get paid to promote. A video doesn't have to be inaccurate to be biased: it's much harder to detect "lies of omission" in such content. Case in point: why no red-light/green-light here? Your other content is honest enough to point out that there are no perfect vehicles, and everything has its rough spots. What are the rough spots with this dashcam, and where is your coverage of them?
      Moreover, any single-product review exists in a vacuum. There's a reason why comparative product reviews as seen at The Wirecutter, Rtings.com, Project Farm, and Consumer Reports are so useful. If I'm buying something, I don't care whether something is "good," or "affordable," or "easy to use." Those terms are all meaningless if you're only talking about one thing. The question is how it compares to competitors on those and other metrics.
      Do single-car reviews suffer from the single-product problem? Yes, certainly. But you review so many models from so many manufacturers. That broad understanding of the market gives you the experience to identify relative strengths and weaknesses. None of this is true (or at least none of this is made clear) in your dashcam reviews. Your videography experience is valuable, but what other dashcam brands have you spent time with, and how does this compare to those?
      If you're having to put out these sponsored reviews to make ends meet, I appreciate that you have to do what you have to do. But it does make me sad to see, and I do notice an obvious shift in tone from your more even-handed vehicle coverage to these suspiciously positive videos. If this ended up being your last sponsored review, I'd be overjoyed. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more vehicle content. Cheers!

      ??? The reviewer said up front this was sponsored, while overall positive, he did note negatives with the item. Many reviewers do these sponsored ads, for example Straight Pipes is sponsored by a tire company, Speed Academy by several parts distributors, Gears and Gasoline by oil and parts, The Smoking Tire has been sponsored by many different types of entities......as long as they are up front with the sponsorship, does not really put me off.

      guess you only watch reviewers who bought the cars to be reviewed

    • @93455Driver
      @93455Driver Před 11 dny

      @@fist003 Consumer Reports say that they "rent" from manufacturers for the cars they review but do not buy outright. I find their "rented" messaging a little misleading or worse disingenuous since this is still a special access situation that most of us can only dream of.
