The writers actually did a good job translating how sharks actually behave into Ellen's personality. When they aren't on the hunt, sharks are very aloof and just kind of exist. They also do not sleep for long periods of time, as they'll die if they do. So they translated these qualities to Ellen as being extremely introverted and tired all the time, until it's time to get to work. And then she goes ballistic in battle, like when a shark smells blood.

You can clearly see it's still Goo Team's animation style, but I can't help but feel like they pulled some of the jumpiness and exaggeration from ZZZ's animation. If I am right in my observation, it makes me appreciate this even more

DillonGoo Studios WAS in talks for an acquisition to acquire the IP for themselves, but unfortunately it fell through because "some things didn't align." Regardless, RWBY has a new home with VIZ. Wonder what they'll do with the IP.

What I find kinda amusing is how this animation feels slightly slower than in-game animations. Not saying that’s a bad thing, it’s just funny because it’s usually the other way around.
This comes out as I’m skimming the trailers and clips and low key Ellen has become my favorite character. I still have no idea what this game is actually about, but the shark girl is undeniably cool. Lol
I wish there were more interactions with the characters like that. Like how do they really feel about each other ya know? I'm pretty sure there might be more with updates and time, so I'm strapped in.
