I’m guessing this will be used with the wind charges to do surprises attacks and deal major damages during the first blow for PVP.
Let’s see if they add enchantments to make it viable during mid fights.
If I had to guess, it’s gonna be able to pierce through shields either by itself or by an enchantment. It may even have an enchantment like “Leaping” which boosts your jump height while wielding it.

That’s the intention
They've done it already. By throwing a wind charge straight up into the sky, and then throwing an ender pearl at the right time, you can teleport several blocks up and use the mace to kill people easily. I don't know the exact heights for each entity to die, but it's pretty much able to kill a person in protection four netherite armor. They should really add a cooldown to both the ender pearl and wind charge at the same time, meaning you can only use one at a time. It just feels less like Minecraft and more like a mod.
Too overpowered imagine getting stacked on everting and out of nowhere BAM you dead and also you just don’t take damage when you fall this is way to OP

When Minecraft doesn't feel like mining and just crafting anymore
Players: This Weapon is named Mace, but it itellary don't look like it. Mace has Spikes. This weapon don't have them, this mean that this is not Mace. Of course, This weapon is named MACE but looks like a Hammer.
If you look closely, you can see that these darker areas of the texture are supposed to represent spikes. The problem is that the texture is in 2D
Many maces look like this. Especially some European ones.
Tell me you get all your knowledge on medieval weapons from fantasy tropes without telling me you get all your knowledge on medieval weapons from fantasy tropes 😂 for a weapon to be a mace, it does not need spikes. The main use of a mace is as a bludgeoning weapon, not a piercing one. It would work just as effectively, perhaps even more effectively without one, as the spikes could get stuck in your target.
Let’s be honest, the Minecraft Dungeons Mace looks better… at least it 3D and has the spikes
