Honestly I tried pushing that bone back myself, I know you said a therapist should do it, but it seems like I can walk much better already! The last 5 days or so I've been limping around with a sore ankle, I didn't jar it or anything, just out walking up some steep paths in my local area, and it was talking ages to get any better.

I sprained my ankle a few days ago when I slipped on wet steps (it was raining). My mom took me to the clinic and they didn't really give us instructions, just wrapped me up in a pressure wrap thingy and gave me a doctor's note for school. It's much less swollen than it was before, but there's still a terrible bruise near the bottom of my foot. Thank you for making this informational video to help us out when we need it most! 😁

Sprained my ankle 6 weeks ago and it's gotten better, but as I move around on it, it begins to swell again and becomes very uncomfortable. Swelling is minimal compared to what it was. I couldn't figure out why I still couldn't flex my ankle forward until I saw your video. Wow! What a difference it made! Once I moved my ankle bone back, I have more range of motion and the swelling is reduced! Thanks for the video!

Lanee if you still experience swelling, I am afraid you may have hairline fracture. Swelling is directly related to fracture. I suggest you do X-ray!

I thought I had a sprained ankle. It gave in as I stepped down on a step leaving my home. It was very painful at that instant, but the pain soon went away. I could walk without a problem. My injury was at the same point indicated. After a couple of weeks, no improvement. My daughter took me to the hospital. The x-ray showed I fractured my ankle. So now I'm wearing a boot which keeps my ankle straight so that the bone can heal. I always heard you can't walk when you have a fracture. That's not always the case, I did. The fracture is very painful. That's also not true either. Sometimes a sprain can be more painful than a fracture. Always get an x-ray.

The day I rolled my ankle, it progressively got worse. I was walking fine for a few hours but by the end of the day I couldn’t walk. The next day I was able to walk better, but I still got an X-ray the day after that to be sure. I didn’t break anything thankfully but trying to get my range of motion back is hell! It’s only been ten days since the injury and I’m worried I’ll never fully restore it through the rehab exercises

I was in an immobilization boot for a few weeks, had PT with ultrasound and icing, and bought good shoes with a heel stabilizer which I wear almost all the time. Because I do folk dancing, the ankle flares up once in awhile. Is there a way to keep that from happening, other than not dancing?

I sprained my left ankle 2.5 months ago, the immediate care gave me an aircast and crutches. I used RICE, and after 5 days I was off crutches and limped for a month before finally walking normal. Its been 2.5 months and I want to jog, but my left ankle doesn't quite have full range of motion and still hurts when I exercise my left foot. I'm concerned it healed wrong or that bone could've moved forward? I'm not sure what to do other than push thru the pain, but I don't want to re-injure my ankle. Any advice you might have for my situation would be greatly appreciated.

There's sharp pain because either it hasn't healed properly, there's a buildup of scar tissue causing pain in the ankle, or the muscles in the ankle are just really tight, in which case can be resolved through proper physical therapy.

If your having trouble with your ankle healing, go to physical therapy!!!! My ankle was super stiff and painful 2 months into it now. The first time I went to physical therapy it started feeling better! Trust me on this 😂 Unless your ligament is completely torn, you should start recovering after you start physical therapy. Good luck 😘

I sprained my ankle 4 weeks ago playing basketball and I landed on somebody's foot. I didn't go to the ER because they take forever to get to their patients and I already had a history of spraining my right ankle 3 times so I already knew what they were going to do. However, after. 2 weeks of resting my sprained ankle, I started stretching it and walking to see how far the motion can go. So I rested 1 more week and still I couldn't so any physical activities. I finally went to the ER and told the doctor everything what I am saying right now and he said it was just a sprain like I predicted and mentioned that "you can do whatever you want as long as your wearing a brace or something". I followed that and this is the 4th week and I STILL CANNOT RUN, but I can't walk. I'm afraid to start playing with my ankle because it's gonna start getting swollen again. Please help and give me tips. I've been icing it consistently.

Thanks for the video. Dr. I sprained my ankle 7 months ago. I gave it rest and then did some exercises but with very less punctuality. I can play sports for example Cricket for two-three hours, I still feel pain after I get up in the morning. During playing I dont feel pain but after sports I feel pain for two-three days. I play carefully. Now I have withdrawn myself from sports, should I do light physical exercises (like standing on one foot etc) with bearable pain? How to make strong my ankle so that I can do more sports. X-ray and MRI did not show any fracture or causalities. Waiting for your reply

  • @duckboy07

I rolled my ankle inwards and sprained it a month ago... Pain at the moment was bad enough that I stopped playing soccer immediately. Could walk off with a limp drive, and a couple days later, I was able to walk fine with minimal pain. A week later, felt ok and ankle was only painful when I roll it inwards...but played soccer and sprained it again. Same story, and 2 weeks later sprained again. So 3 sprains in a span of 3 + weeks. It's day 4 since my 3rd sprain and I'm walking fine again. I know I should've thought about it earlier, but I'm pretty sure I need to strengthen it before I start playing again next time.
Would you say it's a Grade II sprain? In all 3 sprains, pain was really bad at the time it happened and had to limp off the field. But for all 3 of them, I could start putting weight on it and walk fine within a few days...Just getting worried that I might be doing serious permanent damage to it.

I sprained my ankle on March 9th, 2017. I gave it 2 months of RICE and let it heal completely before starting the workout program Insanity (HIIT cardio). Month 1 gave me no problem (the workouts were 30 to 40 mins), now Month 2, day 3 where the workouts are 60 mins long, my ankle pain is back in full force not only that, my Achilles tendon hurts so bad too. What do I do? I love this program. Will I never be able to do it? How long should I wait before starting it again? Because like I said, I waited for it to heal completely and it still came back & brought Achilles tendonitis along with it.
