2014 RAM 1500 BigHorn. This product does fit my tuck. The OEM grill has a more aggressive curve than this does. This grill is flatter and will not fit unless you remove the two horizontal black rubber flaps. The material of this grill is weaker than the OEM version, has no reinforcement behind it. It says, it allows more air flow. That maybe true. However it also allows more space for a rock or a nice fat bug to slip between the fragile bars and damage whats behind. The OEM innards are not transferable to this shell for more mounting security, or rigidity. I don't know how some of you got it to fit despite the difference in grill dimensions. OEM grill is thicker, has more of a curve, more protection from rocks, and more push pin points.

Actually, you did send me your letters, and once I connected it, the wires were so thin that they started to smoke and burn up. I even emailed you about these issues, and you never responded clearly. Your product is not good.
It is possible that you are drawing power in the wrong way and providing too much current. The product itself is not very powerful, but I never got an email from you. Not sure if the dealer was contacted. Very sorry.
If it were me, I would have been able to help you with the problem!
@Mad-Baboon sir no offense, this wasn't my 1st time doing lighting on my vehicles matter a fact, if you go thru my channel you will see how much electrical work I do on my cars.
The email was sent on 3/18/23...Hey man, how you doing, I tried installing the letters today and ran into a couple of issues. The screws are way too short going into the Spacers to meet the letters. Also, the wires for these leds are too thin...once everything was connected it started to smoke. Now my truck is throwing codes cause something possibly got burned......guess what *NO Answer*

Mine didnât come with the resistors and box just the wires attached to the grill
Then it is probably still 12V.....just attach a 5amp inline fuse to the positive wire and then tap into whatever power source you want.

Just saw this vid. I have the same grill to install. how did you get around the two black flaps on the truck. The OEM grill has a bow in it, the DRL grill is flatter. You would have to remove the two flaps to fit it. Also there are pins on the factory grill that are not on the new grill.

Not off hand, but you have to test it
7:52 so the red/positive is tapped into the fuse, where is the black wire tapped into?
Any spot that's a ground...like the body or the negative of the battery etc
So I installed this grill on my ram 1500 2016 and it works and all but I am running into an issue or I think it is one . I hooked up the red wire to the f99 (hvac) fuse like you said on your vedio and my black wire on the inside to a bolt . It works but when I put my truck on ignition and I do not press the brake to start it the check engine signal pops up and my truck starts making a noise like a tea pot whistling . other then that the light works and it don't make that noise when my truck is running or when I use my fob to start it . Do you know why or does your truck do the same ?
So you just said when you turn on the ignition without pressing your brake to start it, the check engine light comes on....well you definitely cannot start the truck without pressing the brake so most of the lights will come on, on the dash if that makes sense. You did say it works fine once started so that's a plus....but you can always find a different power and ground wire as well.
@@WikedWips what other wire would you recommend ? And if there is another one do you know the color? Sorry if I am not making sense lol . I was trying to find the words to explain whats was going on . So I press (run) without the brake and thats when it does a weird noise .
@@calistrotolayo259 I ended up running mine to the 7pin trailer Hitch in the back of the truck(brown wire) so it only comes in at night or when it gets dark

Lmao, np Mr. Harris......you can tap into a negative wire under the fuse box orrrrr directly to the battery.
Hoping you see this but the gray pice in the front of the grill did you have to cut it off it did it fit with the grill I ordered one saw that it didnât fit with it on so I didnât put it on and sent it back so not sure what to do

Nah, the grill lights are nice but the strength is not in projecting light like the fogs or headlights.

@@WikedWips yeah Iâm always on top of cleaning it, and I have it spliced to the headlight so they only go on basically during the night

Can I tap these LEDs to my parking light so they switch on when I turn on my parking lights? Helping a friend install the grille and your video helped a lot but he wants to wire it to parking light so when he wants he can turn them on with the parking lights instead of separate switch.

Does anyone know which fuse it would be for a 2011 ram 2500?
Test fuse 6 or 7 and make sure they are only powered when the ignition is on.

Did you have to run a ground wire or did you tap both of those into the 10 amp fuse?
There are grounds everywhere, so you can tap into a ground where the fuses are
Could you tap it into your turn signals tho
It would most likely cause a hyperflash....but u can try!

Mine is connected to a ground wire, but you can connect to the body or the negative on the battery

Damn. You made that look easy. I have the same grill and tried to follow the instructions that came with it. I couldn't get it to work while trying to tap into the headlight harness. Ill try your way and see what happens.

It seems like thereâs a positive & a negative to the wiring & thereâs really not a good view of the process. I still have some confusion & no instruction manual.
Watch from 7 minutes, the red wire with the yellow stripe you need to tap into for power and your black wire from the grill has to be tapped into the negative portion of the battery or a black wire under the fuse box that I used in the vid

One side burnt out 2 weeks ago, so I replaced the bumper. Iâd definitely recommend connecting it to the wire that only draws power when it gets darkâŠhope this helps

Hi question when you attached the red wires from your ram letters and your grill lights did you attach both to the one pink and yellow wire in the fuse box
At first yes, but then I connected the letters to the running light wire on the the 7 pin trailer Hitch 2 only come on when it gets dark....only because during the day the letters look pink while lit

@@WikedWips I was trying to watch the video that you made but it was going too fast when you were connecting everything under the fuse Box if you can kind of walk me through which wires you tapped into So that the lights only come on at night and don't stay on all the time that would be a big help

Hey Eric, technically you can because since it's connected to the rear Defroster fuse, if it's activated, the grill lights turn off....but what you can do is run a separate switch to control the grill lights if you like.đ tune in next week for another nice vid

I'm sure you can, but just make sure you don't throw a code on the dash cause the Rams like mine with the LED headlights are sensitive.
