casually giving the performance of a lifetime like it's not such a big deal i just open my mouth and sing pure magic and i belt an E5 at the end of the song after one thousand words said in a 3 minutes song and it sounded like it was sent from heaven... i mean someone give her a Tony already.

I'm always so impressed that she's able to perform such a demanding song so well.
As a writer I've always ADORED this song. And I love love love Newsies (and Jeremy).
Hearing this performance now, though, all I can think about is those brave, badass 16-year-old kids out in California speaking up against gun violence. Give life's little guys some ink, some air time, some microphones, and when it dries just watch what happens!

That was the highest honor I could ever be given for me. This woman, this wonderful woman is my inspiration for so many things. My entire family agrees I am Katherine in so many ways it's not even funny. Kara inspires me to keep fighting for my dream.
I know this is just the Internet and it's crazy to just pour ur heart out here. People are probably looking at this like "seriously, like really seriously. Another person posting about how they are going to do great things and all, seen it a million times" well yes, i am another person. I'm not sure who u saw, heard, or well read but I may be one of those people already but I'm proud of that fact. Im proud that I'm striving for the extraordinary instead of just staying ordinary and following what is expected. I don't care if I'm a stage hand, lights, back ground character, handing out the playbills, supporting character, or even a lead. All I care is I'm on that stage and I'm part of that cast. Because nothing means more to me than my dream. For me it's a goal, way of life, and I would die without theater.
So I keep working, harder and harder. Striving and reaching for my dream, I can't wait for it to become reality I have to work to make it happen. So I learn the dances, tap included bc I mean NEWSIES. I learn the songs and I learn to dig deep for raw beautiful emotions that make someone feel something. I'm only 13 but I'm striving for bigger things. Things that I have to trust God with, but I feel He is calling me to this so nothing is going to stand in my way. Not even u the Internet. Say as u wish, beat me down, but I will tell u. I will stand back up and keep going till this dream is a reality, don't give up on urs

Broadway Dreamer I love Kara as well!!! I sang this song for an audition for a performing arts high school and I got in! I’m thirteen too, and my dream is to be able to do theater as a career! Good luck to you! Never give up!!!

I didn't watch this musical. Can someone explain the plot ?
Buckle up, this is gonna be long
So the story starts with Jack Kelly (Jeremy Jordan) telling his best friend, Crutchie (Andrew Keenan Bolger), of his dreams to leave New York for a better life but being unable to. Then the first big number of the musical starts Carrying the Banner, during it we're treated to some amazing dancing and we meet the newsies while learning a sugar coated version of what they had to live through. After that we're introduced to another main character, Davey (Ben Fankuhser, that's spelt wrong) and it gives us insight on how unfair things are for the newsies. Some time passes and the newspaper prices are raised, which would make it difficult for the newsies to survive, so the newsies go on strike to get the prices lowered. As they organize things, we're introduced to Katherine Plumber (Kara Lindsay) and she offers to report on their story, the newsies accept and after a quick interview Katherine sings the song that Kara is singing in this video, as she doesn't know what she's doing. Then the newsies go ahead and start their strike, making themselves known, sadly Crutchie is arrested and the others are hurt, making them lose faith in the strike, especially Jack, who has a mental break down. That's act 1.
Act 2 starts with King of New York, a musical number led by Race (Ben Cook) as they all regain faith in the strike and celebrate the fact that they made it onto the front page. Then Katherine and Davey go looking for Jack, who is still upset. I'm gonna stop now. You can watch Newsies on Disney+
