    So far my sequential amber lights are the only ones working and not the white DRL. To clarify, please let me know if steps are correct?
    1. Both black wires from the LED strip connects to a ground metal of the car.
    2. Connect green wire from turn signal to yellow wire of the LED strip
    3. Connect the red wire from the LED strip to the red wire that is tapped to the 10amp fuse (connected to the empty fuse space of the fuse box)

    • @htckylin

      Black wire to ground or negative on battery.

  • @johnwagner4559
    @johnwagner4559 Před 4 lety

    Nice job! Idk if you can help me but I have a 03 buick lesabre custom, I don't have heated or turn signal mirrors now, but I'm trying to add the turn signal glass with arrow pods on the back, same as factory. I bought the oem mirror glasses with the indicator arrows in them(only the limited models came with the signal mirror feature), two wires coming out of the mirror, I ran the wires up to the headlight assy and was going to splice into the side signal socket(only two wires there too). Should be easy but the arrows in the mirrors stay on constantly but blinked when the turn signal is activated and then light constantly when turn signal is off. I think this is not working correctly because of the drl system. It was darker inside of the garage when this occurred so thought to take for a ride in daylight and nothing in the mirrors worked, no light in the arrows at all! Can you help me to wire this correctly to work as it should? The signal in the mirrors should obviously only blink when the turn signal is turned on. I was gonna try splicing into the dedicated turn signal in the frt bumper but it had more then two wires coming out of that socket. Maybe THATS the one to splice into.... IDK. If the car didn't have drl, this would be easy. There is no information anywhere I can find on this, I've looked everywhere. There is one vid on CZcams on this but he doesn't show how to wire it. There must be a way to properly wire these in I'm sure, but I'm not getting it. I don't know if this matters but I'm trying this to the left side first, I haven't wired the right side yet. Will it only work until I wire both sides at the same time? I'm only trying this with one side is that creating an open circuit or something? Instead of tapping both wires from mirror into the socket, do I have to connect the black wire from mirrors to a separate ground elsewhere? I'm totally stumped! DESPERATE! THANKS!

      The other option is to use a sharp pin to which a wire is soldered to and pierce the wire and take the connection from the pin. Can remove the pin later if going for any warranty claim. Also what I have seen is that the small insulation cut that the T tap makes is not that visible.
      The other option will be to trace the wire and find out if this is coming from the fuse box and use a fuse tapper

      @carDIYs  Před 6 lety

      Google translator says “how much does it cost”.
      The answer is less than 100 dollar a pair. Depends on from where you get. Chinese sites like AliExpress sells it even cheaper

      Plus he added a fuse in an empty spot,that is the best way so no other fuse suffer from power draw.i would have spent an extra few box and get an circuit fuse tap instead of welding.

    I don't understand wrapping the globe in foil? Like, just remove the globe if you don't want it there. That way if you need it later you can just reinstall it, and still have a lot of life left in it. AND, you don't run the risk of losing a ball of foil in your headlight housing! Good luck fishing that one out!

    • @carDIYs
      @carDIYs  Před 4 lety

      If you remove the indicator bulb then the out put load resistance of the flasher unit will become less and it will flash faster. The bulb is kept to keep the flashing speed normal

      @@carDIYs ah, actually makes sense. I will find this information very useful when my light strip arrives. I'm installing on my 2001 mazda 121 metro. An old car, but when I'm done upgrading it's going to look brand new.

      Guess without taking out the bumper it is not possible to install the strip. And I guess the electric connections are all shown in the video, please reach to me if you need any help

      this video is specific to Toyota Chr as you can read in the heading. So I think it's also important how you get the bumper off. 5 thumbs up

    My God , so much pointless work, without any benefit and reason !!! To disassemble so many elements from the car, just to mount some "useless lights", without any importance and use.... Sorry, but it seems very stupid to me!!! If you play with the electrical wires of a hybrid car , your car might catch fire if you don't know how to make the electrical connections professionally. Put in your mind that : this is not something to play with.
