  • Sully Island
Another gem of a place, but this one is often missed or feared because of its location. An island off the coastline in Sully near Barry South Wales. You can cross this natural FORD when the tide is out walk the small island and capture its uniqueness and beauty. Then, after you have made it safely back across have a bite to eat and/or a beer/soft drink in the Famous “Captains Wife”.
You will get an unobstructed view of the Famous Flat holm and Steep Holm islands where Marconi sent the worlds FIRST radio transmissions over open water.
DO NOT walk this until you have checked the tidal times. People DO get stranded and DO have to wait 12 hours for it to go back out again.
You are right on the doorstep of other beautiful walks such as Cosmeston Lakes and Lavenock Point with its historical gun emplacements.

Top work Gareth, i've never been over onto the island, I go to the Captains Wife quite regularly as well on service calls, i'll have to take a stroll over next time i'm there and it's low tide :)

Lovely little spot Gareth! Have never been there despite all my trips to Wales.
Have a look at some video editing software that can touch up the contrast / brightness and colour hues. I've often found flying into the sun is great over water but bad over land. Anyway; great video as ever fella! Ian

Cheers Ian.... It was a bit of a rush job.. I did play with some of the shots a bit, however I didn't have the patience to spend the time needed for the various takes I did. Lovely to hear from you again Ian.
