For some reason, I love driving 2WD on the sand. Paddles on the rear and pie cutters on the front. i used to do it all the time with my Associated RC10 GT nitro to brushless conversion. So much fun drifting the dunes at Glamis or Pismo beach with it. I covered everything with nylon socks. This was great too. I'm going to have to get myself one. You were having a blast! lol.
I have always been more into road stuff but yours vids are starting to get me interested in these style cars . That is one wicked piece of kit

it is way more expensive to upgrade the brushed versions. You need to upgrade anything: motor, ESC, reciever, servo, transmitter.... it adds up to more than 100 €/$. I bought the 124019 but I consider to buy the 124016, too. :D

It's great they've sorted the issues from the V1 out, because that is now a little pocket rocket. And on those paddles!! Awesome. I'm in the middle of monsterising my Senton 550 Mega, with a brushless system, and some huge ZD Racing tyres and big bore shocks. I'm now thinking a beach run would be a great place to thrash it about. 🤘🏻

Ive recently got back into the hobby restoring my original Tamiya Sand Rover and LunchBox and was sent your way from a guy at work. I have to say there are now 3 Wltoys i want (need) now lol... your videos are superb, im slowly making my way through them, and it just goes to show that , you dont have to spend mega money for a great bit of kit... Absolutely epic rc and best bang for the buck too, I actually picked up one a few months ago cause one of your videos and then soon as I got it and drove it I instantly order the brushless one too lol! I was really surprised by the quality and speed for only around 100 - 140$ you can't beat that satisfaction 🤘🏽

This one is really fun to bashing and play. The buggy version, it race really well in the racetrack too.
I absolutely enjoy and love watching your videos and relating to @vitos comment it shows u don't need $500 to get good results as I also watch kevin talbots channel most of his rcs are way over the $150 mark and he calls them dirt cheap 🤣but this video has inspired me to get a v2

It looks like a completely different little beast with those paddles. That's absolutely EPIC for a cheapO. I can't say that it's made cheap though those things are fast and take a hell of a beating as well. Couple upgrades like dog bones wouldn't hurt but other than that these things are really cool for the size and price. I'd love to get several of these on a track and battle it out 🔥

I recently threw all of my WLToys cars in the trash after purchasing a Kraton 6S and a Felony 6S. I liked the WLToys cars and built several, but there is no substitute for Arrma tough baby! The WLToys were all built and very fast, but could not handle the power and would break about every time I ran them. The Felony will do 80mph all day and does not break easily! I will admit that both cars will relieve you of over $500.00 in a hurry! LOL

Had a Traxxas Revo nitro with paddle tyres that I used to run at a sand pit near my house. Seeing those waves of sand get chucked into the air is just super cool :)

I have the v1 buggy and the v2 basher. I'm blown away by the v2! I use 3's batteries in mine but I burnt out the ESC driving through water

Only problem I've had is with the dog bones bending from hard crashes which is expected but if there was a way to make just slightly thicker ones I think it wouldn't ever bend, also got the 22$ all metal upgrade great buy as well
Yes, they are pretty soft. Luckily you can easily bend them back 👌
Hmm maybe try a carbon fibre sleeve
I like the softer dog bones, really easy to bend back, if they didn't bend something else would surely take the hit and break

Those paddle tyres change the nature of the car entirely.
To me it looks like all these WLToys trucks and buggies are identical to cars that have been around for years from other manufacturers. I mean, not just copies, but identical. The 124016 looks exactly like the Tacon Cavalry Desert Buggy, which has been around as brushless version for roughly 5 years, but at double the price. The other WLToys 1:12 chassis look exactly like what Tacon sells as 1/14 Thriller Short Course Truck. I think I bought the brushless version of that truck from Tacon for 185 USD five years ago. Actually this is reslly good to know, as spare parts for Tacon where kind of difficult and expensive to get to, but with all the stuff being available for WLToys from Banggood and even Amazon with one day shipping now it is super easy! I just ordered this 124016 from Banggood. Free three day shipping from Czeck Republic is awesome, too!

You must have read my mind! I have those exact tyres in my Ali basket. They are a little smaller than the usual so perfect for this WLtoys and I think a lot of other stuff too like tamiya buggies etc.
As soon as I saw them on the WLToys it made me wonder how great it would be on sand, especially with that new V2.
Pretty sure I will grab one soon and I'm getting the tyres either way.

@Tomley RC I bought the cnhl batteries and put them in my stock ftx carnage brushed, it backfilps from standstill now and its only 2s 1300mah and they where £20 for 4. They out perform my friends 2s 2200mah in the same car. Thanks for letting us know about the batteries, cheap cars and budget bashers much appreciated also love the videos too.

Cool man, the tracks off the tyres look wicked to. I'm doing the brushless hop up on the ftx tracer er for my nephew, and that things quick to as is.
