I've been playing this game scince summer 2013 and I feel like at least for EU server people got a lot more talkative. It might be just my memory but I feel like the chat used to be mostly the "T" voicelines. Unfortunatly there is a lot of homophobic and racist slurs as well as a lot of teamkilling. My hope is that something is done about this because a lot of young impressionable people play this game and it might reflect on their behaviour. To make it clear, I do believe that it is a minority and a lot of people in-game are actually cool and helpful. In a nutshell, my problem is the vocal minority

Referrning to the title and thumbnail I wholeheartedly agree with the opinion that a portion of the War thunder playerbase is borderline unbearable and even though I've come to notice that most communities or games based on military themes or vehicles also have the same problems and that just seems to come with the turf.
But I think Gaijin is at least partially to blame when talking about the toxicity in this community, from how the forums are basically a joke to how the game is made in a way to be fundamentally frustrating (even moreso if you are F2P) to how they give the community monkeys paw choices when having votes on various things (if they even bother with allowing feedback on decisions at all) .
There are more things of course but I think I made my point.
And you're not wrong! Still doesn't excuse the communities behaviour! It just explains it...
@@spelgekko No it probably doesn't but it isn't really as simple as Pandra said either that "it's just a game" When you have a gatcha game like War thunder that you can spend thousands of hours and loads of cash on without even being done with a tech tree. Like Gaijin (and certain creators won't mention which) expects people to spend this time and money while there are these glaring problems.
Like what I brought up with the forums, if the forums weren't such a joke and gaijin were more consistent in genaral and with what they decide is a "good" or "bad" source they would probably not have half the leaks that they have currently. It probably doesn't help either that some tanks (especially in top tier) are gimped with the reason of they being like that irl. A prime example of this is the Leclerc because it can be penned in the LFP by the 76 mm cannon found on the sherman (which doesn't really need to be explained why that would be stupid. But it doesn't make sense in a gameplay balancing perspective either because the Leclerc isn't even that good.
@@doge9176 Yeah... I agree that Gaijin can be held accountable to a certain amount of responsibility but even then it doesn't excuse the leaks. I get where you're coming from, it has bugged me a lot as well!
