You right. Haymaker with the last scope (daunt? I think, anyway) and exploding slugs with the longest of barrels and any velocity boosting muzzle is actually pretty accurate. Unfortunately the damage dropoff is still pretty bad, at like 100m it takes 4-5 hits to crack. But for whatever reason the one he's using keeps the random bloom for the slugs so you literally can't hit past like 20m unless you get lucky. Most of em with the scope and slugs actually hit the target. Just lots of bullet drop to compensate for.
