16 Years of Alcohol is a 2003 drama film written and directed by Richard Jobson, based on his 1987 novel.
The film is Jobson's first directorial effort, following a career as a television presenter on BSkyB and VH-1, and as the vocalist for the 1970s punk rock band The Skids.
The cover of the DVD describes it as influenced by A Clockwork Orange and Trainspotting.
The soundtrack features 1960s ska and skinhead reggae acts such as Desmond Dekker and Claudette and the Corporation, and 1970s rock bands such as Roxy Music, Velvet Underground, Iggy & The Stooges and The Skids.
At the 2003 British Independent Film Awards, the film was nominated for best independent film, and Susan Lynch won the best supporting actor/actress category.
Kevin McKidd plays the central character Frankie, a violent alcoholic who is partially based on Jobson's brother and on Jobson himself.
The movie was set and filmed in Edinburgh and Aberdour.
gem plus, it's deep plus plus a touch of Plath!
I have to agree with you, I know what it's like to be driven by stress at all the problems around you, you have a great point there!
A clockwork orange underpass
Love this scene..
Ska ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That's me at the bar, chatting to the girl
Same scene as the tramp scene in clockwork orange in the opening scene.
What is the name of the song at the start? I know it in the back of my mind but cant quite remember it!
Hey wasn't one of these guys the main character in Dog soldiers?!
Love Is The Drug, from Bryan Ferry and the Roxy Music
The misunderstooding of the Punk and skin culture makes it happen that i sometimes get mollested by marocan youngsters in Holland. I am against any form of racism. I never was a racist, but i am a punkrocker who sometimes is a skinhead. It makes it difficult for me, to stay loyal to my belief, when i got beaten up again by 6 colored kids, who think that a close-shave skinhead means neo-nazi, while i am anti-racist. Sad but true. The good ones got beaten up, for the sins of the bad apples.. Oi!
@MOONST0MP Yeah cheers mate, found it out later that day! hahaaa, not gonna lie, don't look the best, does it!

@ArthurAllblack i won't even bother replying u... btw i've seen that movie not so long time ago
oi!
yes you are wrong
SOAP MC TAVISH
this is england is also well off the pace and a bit of a joke
@ArthurAllblack Actually its far from it.
the first skins were better then todays skins
also original Oi has nothing to do with ska and is not racist, ska is different to two tone, which is different to skinhead reggae.
you obviously have no idea what you are talking about
you need to understand the economics of the uk at the time to understand why the NF and BM were strong and recruiting. the country was in turmoil with high unemployment, race riots and recession kids saw these organisations as a way to vent their anger and put their points of view across. often recruited at gigs and football but in the end people make their own decisions. its not as simple as you portray.
@ArthurAllblack well then why have you................. duurrrrr i'm replying to tell you i won't be replying again,,,,, makes as much sence as the rest of the drivel you spout on here
Soon be running the EU😂😂😂
oi before screwheads beae was good simple ska music, then after screwheads came to be they changed it into a racist music genre thats shit.
1 dont say oi as its what the racist side of ska is called.
