I started a paint by numbers because of the side effects of my Long-Covid and find it very enjoyable! I had lost a lot of fine skills and do not have enough energy to set up my painting regularly but really wanted to develop my fine motor skills again. I scoop a little little little bit of paint out at a time and I can really practice the basic detail painting skills again. I really recommend this for anyone who doesnt have a lot of time or energy or detailed skills because this gives a really good opportunity to practice in small amounts of time

That is really great to hear Simone. It's a good thing to do at your own pace, in your own time. I wish you strength with your recovery.

There's no such thing as "long-covid" it's nothing short of an intentional misdiagnosis. Hope you're feeling better now!

I’ve watched quite a few tutorials as I have bought a couple of kits for my granddaughter and myself.
I absolutely I love your tutorial the most, so relaxed and stress free, it’s calming just watching this video.
    Thank you so much. 💫🇬🇧

Suggest using a FLAT BRUSH for smoother application. They come in all sizes.

I buy these at my local craft stores. Hobby lobby, Michael's. Usually for around 20 to 25 dollars.
If you buy empty paint tubs and number them, mix water in with your paints in those tubs, it will help the paint last longer. Also, it'll be easier to paint with since the paint is thinner.
Another tip is to buy liner brushes! I get mine for around $4 to $7. It helps with small detailed areas. The paint tubs are pretty inexpensive as well and I number mine with a permanent marker.

Vera, thank you for sharing your experience with paint by number with us. I never actually saw anyone paint with these kits. I purchase couple of kits from another vendor last year to keep myself busy during COVID but never received them or a refund. I'm hoping this will be a better experience. I like that they provide everything you need in the kit.

Glad it was helpful! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with another verdor. My experience with Craft Ease was very pleasant, I got my package in about 2,5 weeks.

Thank you for a tutorial on this subject. People think it’s not really real painting……who cares. I ordered a kit and can’t wait for it to come. Lots of snow here in Montana USA so a good project while staying warm inside😊

I see as long as you wet your brush the paint seems to go a long way. Thanks for sharing

I got 2 paint by number sets for Christmas and I am so excited! I ordered 6 more . Mine are from craftoria . I had never really thought about or know that they had adult paint by numbers. . It’s actually quite a bit harder than I thought though . I’m just painting a few random spots everyday .

I've seen others suggest whiting out the numbers for transparent colors. Can I use an acrylic, water based white sharpie instead?

Yes, I use a white paint pen to cover the numbers.

Hi! Thanks for this review - I feel like the colors in your painting are quite different than the reference photo. Less vibrant. Do you agree or is it just the video?

I'm in the Netherlands and received the package in about 2,5 weeks. It arrived right at my door and I didn't have to pay any customs fees. Not sure how that is arranged though.

I think my worst fear about doing a paint-by-numbers project has to do with running out of paint? Do you ever thin the material to make it go further? Do you ever supplement a color to create better transitions between one color and it's surrounding colors?

    • @cherylann8292
      @cherylann8292 Před 4 měsíci +2

You can use a few drops of Flow Aid, a medium to help the paint not be too thick. Water can make it too thin and see thru

Paint by numbers is the most special Olympic shit I ever seen. Imagine of being proud of something that micromanages where and what each color is, draws it for you, hell, even comes with the mixed paint to fit the detailing. Doesn't surprise me that gen Z is picking up on this, they are not known for lacking talent or motivation to succeed 🤣
