  • The fat pads of the face are interesting and influence the forms of the face just as much as the muscles! Come draw them with me and let's enjoy the creative process together.

    Fat pads are something I actually hadn't heard of until very recently, gonna need to do some research about that and watch this video completely tomorrow after I sleep.
    Also yeah proko is amazing. Absolutely amazing for anyone trying to get better at art aka every artist.

      Yeah I’m in the same boat but the fat pads make a lot of sense when you know they are there. Yeah Proko is the best!

    I need to get back to drawing a little! I don't know how to make a continuous line either, there are several lines! Thanks for the video!

    I have seen some of the few videos on youtube that teach about the fat pads of the head, but in every video the fat pads have different shapes/positions. Also, anatomy for sculptors's is different too. Is there some logic behing it that I miss?
    I agree about Proko. Almost everything that I know about drawing, I learnt it from him through a summer, and I'm drawing for almost a decade. I can't recommend him enough :)

      The fat pads do vary in shape quite a bit from person to person and the fat pads mentioned here are actually sometimes a combination of two or three smaller fat pads so they are hard to track down but I feel these are the once I notice on people the most.

      @@AndrewJosephKeith I understand now. That makes sense. I will watch your video some more times in order to get used to drawing the fat pads. Comparing the reference photo to the finished drawing, I think I understand how you approached the fat pads shapes, and the core shadow.
      If it's not a burden, I would like to ask, how would you recommend I practice the fat pads?
      Thanks for the reply!

      @@humane.t.709 Id recommend a couple drawings similar to this one and maybe labeling the drawings. As long as you are aware of them and their general shape/area it should help inform future drawings.
      Stay productive! Stay creative!

    Sir I have a question
    Is there any fat pad between our eyebrows....when we get angry are these big forehead fatpads which effect them?

    • @AndrewJosephKeith
      @AndrewJosephKeith  Před 4 měsíci

      There are skin folds and wrinkles but I wouldn’t classify these as distinct fat pads. The wrinkles run perpendicular to the direction of the facial muscles under the skin.

    suggestion, you could ad some light music in the backround :]

    • @AndrewJosephKeith
      @AndrewJosephKeith  Před 2 lety +2

      That’s true! I sometimes find music distracting in videos with dialogue though which is why I chose to leave it out. I may reconsider for future videos.
