October 31,2023’. Almost 4 years since the C virus started. Back in the days we didn’t do soil samples on our farm. Now its pretty much a must. Us older smaller farmers have never and still don’t do the soil samples. We do use our Farm Bureau fertilizer and we rotate our gardens. What we raise is for our use sharing with our neighbors and they share with us. Thank you Meredith,Lawrence,Wesley and Austin Bernard family for sharing y’all’s videos and I’m Praying God’s Blessings for all of y’all 👍👍🙏🙏🇺🇸.

When my Grandfather grew up, he said they never had toilet paper for the outdoor privy .. he told me they had an old Sears Catalog that lasted for a long time.

It is time for that to happen. Spring fever gets everyone but not all get to enjoy it. You really do have a beautiful family and a beautiful farm. I could go and sit on that hill with the cows and just listen to the world go by! You must feel rich with your faith, family, animals and farm that is all a person needs! Trying that gun powder today got both kinds. It is pretty good! Like being around a campfire! Love Cowboy Kent and his wife! Then toward the end of the day just a simple yet delicious meal with the family! Life is good!

Great video ,I think your kids are great! Working with the farm animals gives them responsibility that they will respect animals and make them better people later in life. We made our son do that and we weren't farmers but lived out in the country. He learned lot of responsibility and respected all animals. Also learned where food comes from. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Hello Meredith. I think the end of this video supports an image of what so many families desire to be anymore. Your family simply sitting around a table eating and sharing together is almost unheard of anymore in so many families. You mentioned no TV to speak of for the most part jn other videos and kind of live a quiet simpler lifestyle away from the distractions of life. Thank you for showing how a family can still come together. It is something I desired in my family but unfortunately everyone wanted their own way and my family didn't make it. Seeing videos like this gives me hope in families and people that relationships still work. Also please keep the cast iron cooking portions of your videos. I like those too. I used to hate cooking with cast iron but find myself trying more and more after watching how you cook with it. I still need one of those ringers though to clean them :).

Hello from New Brunswick Canada. Love your videos. Nice to see your spring weather coming. Still have about 4 feet of snow here covering the fields. My youngest daughter walked your Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine last year and it was nice to see her pictures and videos of spring come alive while we waited for our snow to go. I've been noticing how your son has interest on what needs to be done on the farm like with the soil doctor he was watching closely, he's going to be a good hand for his dad on your farm. Those steaks sure look so tasty . Good Video.
With your video ending on having dinner on the front porch as a family was a good way to end. That part of family time so many are missing out especially when when you live in a metroplex city area. Glad you put that reminder in to sit down eat together and enjoy each other.

I do hope you guys are not too badly effected by covid19. Somehow the CDC has dropped the ball and it will be a massive thing in the USA. Stay safe. Down here in NZ a compulsory 14 day quarantine has been introduced to anyone entering NZ. Its is a bitter pill for many to swallow but if we can work together we may see very low levels. That means our most vulnerable, those grandparents we all cherish will be much safer. The best advice I have seen is this. "Imagine you are infected and you don't want to spread it".

There's nothing more that I to go sit out on the hillside somewhere and listen to the wind. Many times I've heard the voice of God speak to me as I listened to the wind...
And sometimes the wee little folks would come and join me out there.
Then I would just lay there and watch them dance to some old Irish tunes they would play on their fettles and squeezebox... It's been a good forty years since I've been able to do that. where I live here in southeastern Wisconsin there's no place like that to go around here...

The Fey, or faeries as some say are here too. We happily co exist if the proper gifts are left out for them each year, and we never forget. There are times I sit on the tailgate of my old '79 GMC and listen to them talk in the tall grass. Mum's family came from Northern Ireland and Dad's family came from Austria - both have old stories of the faeries, my Mum taught me how to please them. You are not the only person that recognizes the little people. It seems that only the very young and the elderly have the time to hear, and maybe see them. Take care!

Boy I wish I could find a gal like you .HAVE a great DAY.
Ok...time for some help...when trying to teach lambs to lead, get a treat...molasses cake, alfalfa pellets etc (feed store should have small bags)...introduce very small amounts of the treat twice a day for two days...just enough to get them to want more...then put halter on and pull tight (just enough pressure that head is up), don’t pull the animal, stand with tight line don’t move just lean back a little...soon as lamb takes a step toward you to release pressure on its neck give it a small amount of the treat...repeat this program 5 times then quit for the day...next day repeat training, by day 3 lamb will walk to you with halter on so start taking short walks giving the treat (very little at a time), gradually wean them from the treat to your physical praise...good boy (or girl)...should take 5 minutes a day for a week and lamb will follow you everywhere...would work with Elmo too. Have fun

Southern States was a big help help in my soil samples, I had a problem, I sent out 3 samples, from the same locations to 3 different agencies and one of them came back different than the other two, The different one was out of town and the others were in state, who as it turns out had the soil profiles correct. Thank You Southern States!

To many people forgot how to survive if they had to live off the land, we have a freezer full of farm raised beef, pork, chicken and frozen vegetables we're good for a while and will be able to help others in need if needed. People need to stand together to get through this crisis one day at a time...just remember everything is going to be just fine, god bless

If the mud is dry enough could you go over it with a disc to break the large clumps so it can dry faster. Might even make it smoother. Keep on keepen on
