    Why is no one bringing up the point that parents work hard so they're children don't have LMAAAOOO!! That is what the American dream is. Work hard and make it for your kids & family to enjoy OMG

      I don't think they hate them, they just hate what the show seems to give off. People see this show and like you said, form stereotypes of their own and say,
      Oh he's rich and hasn't worked for shit, and other stuff. It puts them in a judgmental perspective.

    It's funny to say that they should be more humble about money and stuff... we (at least I) didn't come from a wealthy family so we don't know what it's like to have everything, as they don't know what it's like to struggle and work their asses off to buy something nice.
    If I had the money I would definitely be living the life they're living now. They have the money, it was given to them... their parents probably worked A LOT to give their children the best life possible so I don't see any problem.
    It's not their fault that me and you need to work a lot and struggle through life. Kudos for them for being lucky of being raised by wealthy parents, I wish I had!

    I love the way Bethenny doesn't hold back from telling it like it is, she is real and that's what I love about her. Most dumb people will cater to rich people because they think they will get a handout or opportunity from them to make money. Hello, it's not going to happen. Rich people only got rich by chance, they were at the right place, at the right time, and that is a very rare thing. There is not an abundance of opportunity for everyone in this type of a false economy. 50 years ago there were several varieties of same products, but now it has dwindled to only a few (just go to any store and look around). As an example, look at smart phones, there are only a few that dominate and the rest (like the Microsoft phone) are struggling. So everyone else (middle class / Poor) has to work for the rich. The rich would not be able to make and sell their products if not for the working class. In reality the lower class worker does everything from the accounting, ideas, planning, art work, building, marketing, fabricating, to complete production. And all the rich guy did was bring the money and hire the people to put the idea (in most cases, steal an idea from a very talented but poor person) together. You see they would not be rich without you. The rich know exactly what I'm talking about and they want to keep it this way to continue their luxurious lifestyle while telling you to work hard and you can have what they have. That’s a load of crap and more false hope. Almost everyone you know works hard. Look around you; don’t you know they would be rich if there were opportunities?

    This audience needs to grow up! It’s jealousy! Why would you ever fault someone who’s parents worked there butts off! Don’t be mad your parents refused to work hard or lived off my tax money so they wouldn’t have to work!! My parents gave me everything! They also taught me to work! I’ve had a job since I was 14 and I am now successful business owner! My dad was a chief of police and own a lawn business! My mom worked as an administrator in a nursing home! I was very well-off and I was taught to work my butt off for what I have now! And now I’m teaching my kids to work there behind off to have something. Stop being jealous and get a job!

  • @SeptemberAndMay
    @SeptemberAndMay Před 10 lety +1

    I think everyone is more heated at the fact that society has such differences in lifestyles. The fact that we have luxury brands etc and that people are quick to feel unsettled at those who seemingly have it so good while the majority struggle to pay for most needs. These kids are lucky enough to have such money because it's something that is idolised and desired by most, I mean who wouldn't want to not have to worry about their mortgage etc. We (general society) support and love celebrities and those with power/wealth because they endorse a minority "Elite" society. Everyone thinks differently and feels envy in their lives, I know I have but in the end as long as you know who you are and who you want to be that shouldn't be changing how good you are as a human. It's human nature to want or to be a leader and aspirations. Power, money and extravagance will always get us talking.

It's sad that people are so ENVIOUS of other people and what they have so much so as to get up on national TV and be ugly to a group of young STRANGERS that they know nothing about ! They have no clue what these young people are all about all they know is that their parents are rich as hell so they automatically judged their character as human beings based on the fact they have MONEY ! That is no different from a group of rich people placing judgement on someone that is poor based on their financial status and it's WRONG just WRONG in my opinion !

    I dont blame the people in the audience for reacting negatively, but i dont agree with the negative comments at all. All people who are poor, like myself, instantly react negatively once we hear or see a "rich kid". Its just our first instinct. Its like its automatic or something, but when you really think and consider everything, they arent doing anything wrong. So what if they have everything and we dont? Thats life. The reason why we hate them so much is because we are just frustrated about our social-economic standing, but that doesnt give us reason to descriminate them like that. I call it discriminating because even without knowing them, we hate them and treat them badly. What if you were born rich? You wouldnt be complaining about rich people then right? If you were rich, would you still go out and work hard when you can just do nothing and get money? Exactly. So eventhough we feel frustrated...we shouldnt treat other people badly because they are rich.

    The problem with this show and shows like it is that people, especially young people, aspire to be like these individuals. People watching get twisted up in thinking "this is life", "they have made it" , "wow look at them..." Trust me, they are not lucky to be born into their situation. I believe they are very unfortunate in ways. They are consumed by the material world. For them self worth is defined by look at me, instagram, social status, and money. They have no sense of self and are VERY unhappy. Relationships to them are strictly defined by 'who do you know and how much are you worth.' They can play pretty and fake all they want but at the end of the day there is a real person in there who knows it's all bullshit and is scared to become who they really are. Or maybe there just rich kids having a good time. Right...

    I think the problem with this show is that none of the characters are likable or relate-able. They were popular on Instagram because you dont really get to see their personality but rather it is like that's a cute bag or i love that dress. They are not working towards anything, they do charity like if it is a fun activity that is great PR and their biggest struggle is that their parents want to cut them off. I watched the pilot, hated it, gave it another chance and I never watched past episode 2. If you don't like them, don't watch, the show will be cancelled and they can continue living their shallow lives without making us gag

    I'd personally be more interested in this show if it were about how these "rich kids" contributed to society with all their money. This show is entertaining and interesting to see how the 1% lives but the majority of their audience are young teens who are most likely influential and from watching, may easily be convinced that being rich and fabulous is a necessity in order to be happy, successful or important.

    • @precious4beauty
      @precious4beauty Před 10 lety

      i think the young teens need to learn from their parents, not a tv show. if you want to be depressed because you're not as rich as them, that's your cup of tea. do you want them to throw away the money. that tv show is making them even more money and I am damn sure they are giving back to the society. but that section is not the focus of the show. I am independent and when I watch this show, it encourages me to work harder. if anyone is educated, then you will know that not everyone can be as rich as them but work towards it.

    People are not "hating" them because they are rich. People are hating them because the show itself is very classist and promoting to young kids to aspire to "not work" rather "keep living off your parents' money and pretend you are better than everybody else who actually works and makes a living." I saw an episode, and the show is exactly like the kardashians, superficial remarks about one's looks, pretending to be superior than everybody else because one has a chanel bag. It's okay to be rich, but don't brag about it in a way that suggests those who don't have the same lifestyle are inferior. Again classism, that is what the reality tv show represents, besides Morgan's boyfriend, who despite his parent's money, he has built his own career and lives off his own income. The American Dream is about working hard, and from working hard you get opportunities, and by such opportunities you gain you get to live your dream. Their friend, Saachi cywinski, actually became a multi- millionaire by starting his own company of whiteboards with his friend. I wish this show was about self-made rich kids of beverly hills, that is really something to aspire and glorify.

    how about they stop giving people who DON"T have a talent (not talking about everyone on that show, just a few ahem ahem the ladies) money to show their lives to the public i.e. kardashians, housewives, #richkids, etc. Because these "women" who have all these nice things didn't work to gain them, they don't know what is like to not know if you are going to have enough money to pay for gas, food, or the place you live in. Its excessive and its unnecessary, if they are so grateful then why are they doing the show, to get popular and to "make their own money." Anyone who is against them doesn't neccesarily "hate" them, they are just frustrated that wealth was handed to them rather than working really hard and emotionally going through the struggle of not having money.

    Sorry won't be watching this show. It seems similar to Vanderpump rules. I watched season 1 of that show and I'm surprised there's a season 2

    That's so stupid- its easy to do stuff when you have so much money to begin with. And that money you begin with belongs to yo daddy!

    Lithiel Good for you honey! I sure do feel bad for you because my first comment for you was not out of hate, but me wanting to have a discussion. I feel bad for you, because you took it as if I was trying to be mean. I was just giving my own opinion like you. I really don't car what you think about me honey. Oh and by the way. Your lucky for the attention I gave you, because like you told me... " What you are talking about has been mentioned already in other comments." Just calm down girl. I don't know why you went all 420 angry on me m8. Let me say something from my heart.... You need to work on your people skills, and your verbal skills. Your whole comment contradicted itself. That is okay though. In advance I already accept your apology! Have a nice night honey! :) Thank you for proving you were wrong by closing that comment section. You are very cute. God Bless!

    I'd like to see a show where rich kids take responsability for their wealth and go out into the world and use it make positive changes. I'd like to see some examples of priveleged kids using their money to do good for others- using it responsably, respectively, as if they didn't have all the money in the world.
    what I'm NOT interested in-in seeing some slice of life where they just spend money on things and live in luxery without aspiring to anything positive or constructive. Watching them waste it would be the worst. And for an audience rife with people who struggle and suffer, some with hungry children- seeing a bunch of kids run around and do useless stuff day to day, have an entire show based on their self invested personalities, I can see how it pisses people off. A good comment one of the people made was " Whats the point? what are you trying to teach people wiht your show?" Shows usually, or should- have some point, just "that you're rich and we should just learn to appreciate your richness- obviously isn't good enough for them." We already have shows that are pointless, we don't need another one. It's especially annoying for the audience here because they're basically getting rich- off of being rich. "I'm rich and so I should be observed and earn money from being observed by the little people. People who can live vicariously through me."
    Maybe if they had some kind of positive point, instead of making a gimik of off being segregated from the populace and put on a pedistal, then they'd get a better reception. Because- if rich- is the only reason. Then most of the people there are just not interested. They get it- you're rich, ..so what? Now you want a show made about you? Why? Being rich actually doens't make you special, or warrent that other should observe you for that reason. They can defend themselves and say- " well it's to show you who we are, we're human beings." Any person with half a brain can figure that out: yes they are human beings, yes they hopefully have a grasp of the value of a dollar because their parents taught them, but- we already know this.
    Bottom line is- there are several shows which have taken this angle in a better way and have done well because they realize rich isn't always enough. "We're just 5 friends, in a famous vip code- having a good time." It would get old- fast. Maybe have a show about the next generation of financial philanthropists? We have stories about middle or lower class youths doing good for the world- let's see it from their side if they are investing in stuff like that- as one audience member said.

      They work hard! You cannot just snap your fingers and have millions. I understand it is good to give back and I would if I had that money. What if they don't want to? It is there money at the end of the day and they are privileged to have it. They can use it however they please. Taxes are already enough to deal with. Look at taxes as if they are giving back even though they are not. I know what I said was confusing. And no I am not rich. Not making 6 figures a year

      Lithiel They don't care what you think either so why do you even bother? Just don't watch the show. I don't know if you want attention or something. -_- grow up. Producers look at the charts and see what people like so obviously thats why the show is up. You think they would really make a show knowing no one would watch it. slow claps and a facepalm to you.

      *pffft*
      I know -someone- wants attention.
      And actually they do. They explain that in the interview the purpose behind their show, they DO care about what people think.
      You keep explaining the obvious, and points that have no relivency to what I'm tlaking about. And what you are talking about has been mentioned already in other comments so I'm not bothering with that, nothing you claimed disregards my own point which you clearly still don't get. Obviously I'm not watching a sh** pile like this, and I'm not the only one who didn't.
      Look I'm losing IQ points wasting my time. with you. *ignores* If I'm lucky you're a troll.. if I'm not.. I'm so sorry for you.

    What a load of tosh. People are making money making crappy music and people pay through the nose to buy their cds and concert tickets yet dont cry when seeing how the now wealthy music maker is living on. People are just jealous. Ive worked with young people with wealthy parents. Its not all fun and games.

    If you all are going to complain about this show, complain about the Real Housewives series, cause that show is pretty much the same thing. This one is just a subtext.

      But they're children of rich people, hence the name. I don't think it is referring to their age group, but how they were brought up. They're still young adults. Not yet at the age where "kid" would be inappropriate.
