  • More: www.sundayriver... Steam in Mexico: In the 1960s, steam railroading was alive and well all over Mexico! Like outlaws running for the border, the pride of US steam engines escaped the scrap lines in the North, and found a home in the mountains and jungles to the South.

The Baldwin 4-4-0 was operated by Railroads United of Yucatan (Ferrocariles Unidos De Yucatán), are still in service at Disney World buy to Yucatan 4 steam trains and restore. One is still exposed on display at the Museum of the Railways in Merida, Mexico with the U de Y number 270. At the beginning of the video was the old route from Merida to progreso Port.
