- Join me as we do a LIVE walking tour of the world famous Norfolk Broads
We start the unedited live tour at the capital of the Broads Worxham
The twin villages of Wroxham and Hoveton sit either side of the meandering River Bure. Together known as the capital of the Broads, this community is the heart and hub of boating holidays on the Norfolk Broads.
Next we are in Potter Heigham which is one of the major boating centre's on the Norfolk Broads, with many boating holidays or day trips starting from here. The famous medieval bridge gives access to the Upper Thurne, Hickling Broad and Horsey Mere. The banks of the River Thurne at Potter Heigham are lined with waterside bungalows, which can only be accessed by foot or boat. There is the famous Lathams discount store located here, as well as a pub, chip-shop and newsagent. The main village itself is actually located the other side of the major A149 road and is mainly residential and quite separate from the boating centre, but does contain the lovely village church.
And finally we head to NWT Ranworth Broad which is a fantastic place with a beautiful church which we take a trip up the tower. Situated only 20 minutes outside Norwich, Ranworth contains a wide range of habitats and a fantastic variety of wildlife, all to be seen from 750m of boardwalk. Find our floating visitor centre, nestled in reeds, with amazing views out across the open water, at the end.

Not sure if anyone else saw when Tim panned back from Norfolk Broads Direct office along the walkway towards the children with the fish at 25:11, a man sitting on a deck chair was suddenly deposited on the ground when the chair collapsed
I saw that but didnt know If I captured it lol
Haha I have just been scanning the comments to see if anyone else noticed! I rewound it a couple of times 😂
Having been brought up in Norfolk, this Video has brought back many memories of school trips when I was much much younger.
im glad Kevin , thanks for watching
thank you sooo much Tim for taking me to such beautiful places that i cannot get to now love lots xxx
Amazing tour loved the broads as a child would love to come bk now as a adult ❤
Yes to a part 2 please. Nice to have a leisurely walk around the Broads from the comfort of my chair.
yes very true
We visited Wroxham & Ranworth yesterday both fantastic thank you 😊 the Radar museum was brilliant as well 🎉
I love your walks thanks so much Tim & Gabby ❤
Love the Broads. I use to go a lot years ago with friends.
A peaceful holiday. Just love Wroxham though can get very busy on sunny days.
Great vlog Tim 👍
We go to Wroxham and Potter Heigham every time we visit. We were looking on the map for a new place to visit and went to Ludham, Horning and now you have suggested Ranworth so that is definitely on our list next year. Thanks very much.
Just loved the videos of the Norfolk broads
Thanks John
Love the video.brings back many happy memories.john buckingham.
Glad you enjoyed it Michael , subscribe for more
I like wroxham, I’ve got good memories there
Sorry missed tonight’s “Live”, just watched it on catch up. Something different, but another great video. Very pretty locations, with great info. Part 2 gets my vote too
Thanks Richard
Oh my god very old memories 20 years ago I used to work at Tunstead farm 😢😌
wow
The Broads is not actually a National Park, but it is “a member of the National Park Family”.
The rules for National Parks in the U.K. are governed by the “Sandford Principle” which stipulates that priority must be given to preserving the natural environment and as the Broads Authority is responsible for managing boating on the waterways there is a conflict with that principle. For that reason The Broads do not have full National Park status but they are in effect an honorary member of the club. Hope that helps 👍
thanks mark it did
I've been driving for over 50 years Tim and about 20 years ago I went up to Norfolk with my son on a week long fishing holiday, in March just before the Close Season and for te first time in my life I had a 'White-Out' when driving from Wroxham to Potter Heigham where we were staying. It is such an odd experience and absolutely surreal. We wasn't on a M'Way but neither were we on a country lane. It was full daylight yet I could see only snow drifts in every direction and we had to exit the car in order to see anything, where the road was and which direction we had to go in.
a part two would be great thanks Tim. 👍
We visited Wroxham some years ago. Nice little town. We didn't come for the Norfolk Broads, but for the Bure Valley Train. It was a nice day out. Thanks for the great vlog.
Once again you did a great live this evening tim love watching your videos and life streams.u should be proud of yourself.u are one of my favorite u tubers .it is nice to see all the beautiful surroundings and locations you do .second part would be fantastic.looking forward to your next lives I be tuned in.i think you and gaby are great she has a lovely voice.cheers for a good live thanks

Great Vid Tim I bought one of those Father Christmas in the phone box last year and at least you didn’t go deaf by those bells
lol
Hi Tim enjoyed your veido of the Norfolk. broads, Loved all the boats aswell, I bet they are rich people who have the boats, I no they have got nice things on there all the Appliances and so on,
Glad you enjoyed it yes I think so but all depends on what boat you get ect
The old Latham's was brilliant! Got lots of pottery from there
old not like the new one lol
Last time I was there, it had changed and was all fishing gear ☹️.
My Mum much preferred the old Lathams, they had a huge section out the back that was racks of china/pottery, even Royal Doulton etc.
It is essentially a glorified QD tho! Lol
Your vid reminds me when i was a kid in Martham with the ducks on the local pond. There used tobe a goat tethered to a stake in the middle of the green. My young brother made the mistake of feeding him pea pods, and he got a butt for his trouble!
I used to stay in the King's head Hotel in Wroxham with my mum and dad when I was younger loved it. Loved Roy's too also went on the broads on a boat loved it great times
love the broads ,, visit every year
This video brought back many happy memories of my childhood spent on the Norfolk Broads
your welcome
I like Potter Heigham because Lathams shop
like us all lol
Good video! The guy falling of his chair at 25:12 made me chuckle🤣
lol me too
Great vlog Tim, six of us hired a boat for a long week end, just a quick decision and it turned out to be one of my best times, great weather great locations and great company, would definitely love to do it again. Yes to a part 2, thanks again for a great vlog 😘
thanks Paula
I remember my late wife saying that she could have done all her Christmas shopping in Lathams. That must have been in the 1970's, when we had hired a cruiser for the week.
Hi tim love the broads wev been on the water 3 times now and Wroxham is our fav place, we do like Norfolk and area.😊
Roys was founded in 1895 when brothers Alfred and Arnold Roy opened their first general store in Coltishall, Norfolk. The store was successful and soon the brothers set their sights on other towns. ... This was the beginning of the Roys of Wroxham name. Cathy from Catfield
Thanks Cathy .. I should have googled it lol
Another great & fantastic video of The Norfolk Broads LIVE - Wroxham, Potter Heigham & Ranworth Broad it brought back many memories !.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Glad you enjoyed it
Really enjoyed this video! You were very high up in the church,añd no rope to hold ,when going up and coming down
Hi Tim the Broads became a national park in 1989, it is Britain's largest protected wetland, and has the status of a national park, I love it there, spent most of my holidays on cruisers on the Broads, love your vlogs by the way, some great pubs there too, great to just tie your boat up outside a pub, 😎😎🖐
I really enjoyed this live would love to see another live on the broads
Thanks Lesley
I used to spend some of the summer holidays in Ranworth and my mums friends were the previous owners of the white house seen at around 1:17:00 We spent lots of great summers messing around in row boats and buying toys from the little shop. A great trip down memory lane 😊
this has been one of my favorite lives two of my favorite places wroxham and potter heigham and one i need to visit when we come down next cant wait for part 2 thanks tim x
your welcome Ali
Another great video I love the first place you visited
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the trip around the Norfolk Broads. So beautiful and you gave us such a variety of experiences in the one film clip. I loved the church visit. I remember going up to the top of the church tower of an ancient church in Oxford on a previous trip. A very similar experience. The Norfolk Broads are on our list of places to explore when next we come to the UK. Would love to see more of the Broads if you are able to show us some more. Thanks again Tim. We love watching from western Sydney Australia. We are so missing the UK at the moment.
Hey Raylee, you are more than welcome thanks for watching
Lovely vlog Tim, very well shot and such a beautiful area, the prerecord in 1080HD with a live v/o is such a good choice and to be honest with the nights drawing in makes a lot of sense
thanks Belvedere , always trying to come up with something different ;-)
In 1962 and 1963 I went with my parents for one week on the Norfolk Broads.Dad hired a cabin cruiser each time.It wasn't much of a holiday for mum,as she still had to do the cooking.but it was a grand adventure!
great video good to see the old place again use to live in dereham
Fantastic vlog Tim really enjoyed it as always. Also love the Cromer ones as I lived there from 2007 to 2010 and worked at the country club, I am now living in South Wales . Keep up the fantastic work definitely one of the best channels on youtube.
thanks Jonathan
Love Wroxham used to stay in the kings head hotel. Many years ago. Loved it so much. Such a beautiful plece.
it really is thanks for watching Hayley
I was there today with a coach load on Broad Tours Wroxham....
Passed by Lathams on the way in..
boom!
Hi Tim. Loved this video back from last year. The climb up the church tower looked dodgy . The door you entered through is a plank and muntin door made in the 14th Century the same age as the church. !Incredible that it's survived so long as the original door and still in use after around 700 years😮They made things to last back then.
Very nice and relaxing Tim
Glad you enjoyed it Linda
Great video love my back yard as i also live in Great Yarmouth
Thanks for watching
That was a really relaxing video tim. Love the northork boards especially on a nice day taken a boat out , walking near the boards just so calming.
Glad you enjoyed it Scully a bit different
Really loved watching Tim and am looking forward to a part 2. 😊😊
:-)
Loved this it's just popped up, we've been on the cruise boats on the broads, some very pretty houses on there, then wild life too was great to see swimming. Takes me back to happy holidays in G. Yarmouth, thanks Tim great vlog 😊
Another great video tim, it makes me want to go back to the broads.
You and me both!
Lovely. We used to go on filby broad on a rowing boat. It's in a more secluded place but very pretty. My uncle used to live in Martham. I think there are some broads there.A few people from around here could do with chillin out and slowing down on the water. Although you might not want them down there.I like Latham's. I bet Gaby does too ! WOW.
yes she does! lol
@@WalkWithMeTim I knew it 🌺

Well Tim, you just made my day. With work commitments and the time difference in Australia i haven`t been able to catch any of the live feeds and just happen to click for updates and Bang! both Wroxham, and Potter Heigham in the same Video. This really is like nostalgia crack to us and much appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos to feed our addiction. Hopefully i can catch a live feed at some point. By the way is Stalham very film-able, i remember visiting in the 80`s and going to the auction and markets but not sure how much has changed. Anyway thanks again.
Hey Jonathan, thats very kind of you im always trying something different
Hi Tim. I really enjoyed the Norfolk Broads. So peaceful and quiet. The three different places were so different yet have their own charm about them. Marie
Glad you enjoyed it
Absolutely ❤️ the Broads, always a must visit when visiting beautiful Norfolk, thanks for bringing back so many happy memories of this area Tim ❤️😀👍

you are welcome , thanks for watching
Good evening Tim and gaby hope you are both well just watching your video know been busy today planting trees and painting the fence
lol what colour
@@WalkWithMeTim gray it's called silver birch
Awesome. Fantastic. lovely to see the walks . Cannot wait to go back to Lathams . Thanks Tim
Our pleasure!
Simple answer is yes it is a official national park. Spoke to some officials while down on a boat on the broads and they confirmed it was as they would not be able to advertise or signpost it as a national park if it wasn't.
Ah, you did more walking back then! 😎👍
Loved the broads vid, Tim. Probably one of the best you've done. 👍 We're you aware that the broads are actually manmade; born out of medieval peat digging. Also, I recommend The Black Swan in Horning. You excelled yourself again. Cheers, Tim! 😀👍
thanks the bard!
went on the broads for a week years ago from a place called Acle.
What pretty place 😁💖👍wroxham
It really is!
@@WalkWithMeTim 😁I must go
Fantastic love the broards especially Wroxham, sorry I'm a year late. Tim
How beautiful. Thanks for sharing tim. 👍👍
Thanks dola
Fantastic video, enjoyed every minute. look forward to a part 2.
thanks mark
Great video Tim, I love the Broads, have been many times, it seems to be a grey area regarding national park status after I googled it !
perhaps it`s time a final decision was made. 🙂
Loved it!!! Thank you love Potter Heigham 😃
You're so welcome!
Catching up on replay nice live great footage thanks 4 sharing tim
thanks KK
There was a pub near the store which was very nice before it burnt down in the store you can buy plants aswell
:-)
We visited Wroxham Tim in 2013 on one of our trips back to the UK. Lovely spot. Thanks for another great video. Have a great weekend. Debbie & Patrick New Zealand.
Thanks, you too!
Amazing video and so peaceful and relaxing would like to see a part 2 please
:-)
Sorry I missed this Tim, will catch up later x
:-)
I’ve only just seen this one (sorry!). I would love to see a second live. Maybe visit Oulton Broad. Not quite as beautiful as most of them but it is different so would be good for contrast.
Great suggestion!
I enjoy the video Tim fromAndrewmay in yarmouth
A very beautiful area to live, taking your life into your own hands going up the Church Tower, not even a rope to hold onto on the spiral staircase, meeting someone half way would have been interesting.
I hear of Holly on your videos, does she ever appear or is she like the elusive Mrs Mainwaring?😄
Definitely need part 2 please not been on the broads for 35 years 😮😮
Hi, love Wroxham well in fact all of the broads our daughter and her husband are on the broads this week
Wonderful! they have some good weather
I've done the Wroxham Broads tour via one of the tour boats.
