If you read into Matt's background a little further you'll find out that he never really wanted to be a frontman, but just a guitarist. When Bullet took off, he was stuck. Axewound is his means of stepping back and just playing guitar.

Yeah, I'm just a singer too. And I also don't have many places to practice without frustrating the other houses around me. So I tend to just go for long drives or a friends place. Get them to chuck on a song I wanna sing, crank it up and sing along.
You could sit there with a vocal tutor and get them to help rework your vocal muscles back into a decent shape to where you can produce notes again, or you can take the longer harder road and that's just sing your lungs out every day. Nothing too harsh to start with, or you'll just blow your voice. That's how I train my vocals. Granted, they're not that good, but I can hit powerful notes cos I just sing every day. The key is to push yourself. Go hard on songs you thought you could never sing.
Matt's vocals have certainly improved! Pretty sure I read something about him having a throat op a while back? Saw a couple of clips where he didn't sound too great. Still amazing, but not as great as he was. And this has confirmed his come back to vocals. Back to Bullet, Matt!! I think Axewound are great, but c'mon! Matt's a leader!

AxeWound shits all over post-Poison BFMV. The Poison was the only properly good Bullet album. Scream Aim Fire has the singles but the rest is filler.
