Here is living proof that you don't need a university education to be a great success. Yes, this man had a gift and was incredibly smart, but his message to everyone is that anyone can do it. He was curious, passionate and had such a love for ideas and life itself. He didn't conform to everyone esle's idea of success. He just did what he loved and never lost that sense of wonder that he had as a child.

I needed this. I'm a young writer struggling with people telling me it's worthless to pursue an artist's career. Ray Bradbury... he's a genius. He's done it all. I only wish he was still alive so I could meet him and say just how much his works have meant to me over the years... R.I.P....
Please don't listen to anyone who tells you its worthless to pursue a career in something IF you genuinely love it. If you do pursue a career in the arts, You better love it, Its a hard Road. If you are a lover of Big cars Big houses Big material things and cant think of living with out them, Then you have a problem. The road of an artist is many times filled with personal rejection and poverty living from day to day even when the talent grows strong. I also suggest getting married and having kids right away will be a bad idea unless you get very successful early on. And even then it will interfere with your Art one way or another. The other side of the coin is when you are given praise for your work. Its a great feeling, One that you cant buy. Also you must have a solid quality education to stand behind the field you have chosen. If not, You can be looked upon as just an amateur regardless of how good you turn out. At least that's what your critics will think. Learn all about what you are about to undertake from the bottom to the top. If your going to write take every course you can on creative writing, Journalism , Major in English, Etc, , Because even with those professional credentials you will find it a very hard road.
This man is my hero. To pinpoint that moment when you realize you're alive, and then continuously find that love through books and through authors...it's such an inspiration. Because yes, behind every book is a man, and that man becomes part of a family not just for Montag in Fahrenheit 451 but for anyone who loves literature. Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare are my family,. You fall in love with these great works of art, and those people live forever because people still read their works, and Ray Bradbury will live forever as long as his works are still relevant and people still want to read them. I will never stop reading, in general or Ray's books. He had such a beautiful vision. Yep, my hero.
Ray Bradbury is a beautiful soul, kind and full of life, he exudes passion and love of life, Oh how he does. It is a real joy and a great pleasure to listen to him speak. He is a wise, wise man with a pure innocent heart and soul which he shares abundantly. Every word from his mouth is filled with energy and life sustaining wisdom. I thank the universe for giving me life here on earth and to allow me to come alive here, yes.

Ray Bradbury beams with love for books and a love for life. The golden rays bathe your soul and bring tears to your eyes. I wanted to be a writer, I really did. But I found it difficult because I believed pleasing others was the most important thing. Ray taught me otherwise: “Do what you love and love what you do.” I did. Then I lost myself in the magic; it’s a wonderful feeling. Creating is difficult, the rewards after you finish, despite what others say, are food for the soul. I learned I’m a short prose poet and much of my work has seen publication. Thank you Ray. After you find your sweet spot you feel you are dictating to the universe. In a way you do live forever because you never know who will read your stuff, awakening that butterfly effect. Years ago I was fortunate enough to meet a few people who knew Mr. Bradbury personally-one even read to him at the hospital when he experienced his first stroke. The man told me, “Ray would’ve found you fascinating and he would’ve told you ‘if others don’t like what you are doing pick your toys up and play somewhere else....get negative people out of your life’ “ Even though I never met Ray, meeting a few of his friends was just as good. They are like him: love and enthusiasm. I have 10 Bradbury books autographed. They are my bible. Wonderful interview. Seeing another human truly loving life does bring tears of joy. Thank you Ray, you’ll definitely live forever.

Praise God for giving us this great talent who shared his passion for poetry and left us with such a tremendous body of work to savor, enjoy, and find ourselves in its pages!

Ray makes me see the wonder and magic in every day-- in all the good things we find in life, like engrossing stories, nice people, simple pleasures, monsters under the bed, and cold lemonade on a sultry afternoon. I hope he is having many adventures now ... wherever he happens to be.

To continue my comparison of Ray with Poe, we see that indeed Ray was a master of dark fantasy and horror who had many tales in the horror genre. The collection “The October Country” (originally published as “Dark Carnival”) and the novel “Something Wicked This Way Comes” are considered “Bibles” of dark fantasy. And those examples only represent a portion of his total horror output. And many of his science fiction tales have strong elements of horror in them, “The Moon Be Still As Bright”...
He sounds like Danny DeVito. You can't convince me they didn't give Danny DeVito a purple sports coat and some leg stilts for this interview. By the time he starts talking about flaming swords at the carnival, the interview had become a sketch from 'It's Always Sunny.' "It smells like dust. Ancient dust. Egyptian dust."
