- Join Graeme on a solo fishing adventure as he heads to one of England's most famous River's to try and catch some fish! Graeme holds back this Totally Awesome movie-length fishing film, especially for release in anticipation of the new season. He tries swims that he never fished before and gives tips on what to look for if the hard fighting Barbel are your target species...He fishes the Hereford & District stretch of the famous River Wye, where you can get day tickets from Woody's tackle shop in Hereford. Sit back, relax, and see how he gets on. It's not easy fishing due to low water, clear conditions, but perseverance finally pays off ..... And the scenery is not half bad either !!!

The GLORIOUS 16th is almost upon us! Good luck to everyone out there once the season opens this weekend - We kept this one back from last year especially for this weekend! Hope you enjoy it
Can't wait!
River fishing season :) barbel favourite species of fish 2 catch
Thought you were getting a head start 🤦🏻♂️🤣
TA do you have a vid of starting out in river fishing and what to do. Thanks
Had a 12lb barbel when I was 18 on my local river, just started fishing at had a cheap telescopic rod with 8lb mono line, my rod went crashing into the river and that's when it started!! Fast forward 40 mins and I netted the fish with a snapped rod and a soon as hit the net the hook popped out !! The gods were looking down on me that day ! Believe it or not that was the first fish I ever caught !!! Didnt really understand how important it was back then but I sure do now !! Been fishing ever since !!
Best fishing channel on CZcams! You could blank every episode and I'd still watch for your humor and totally awesome tips!
I just love these river fishing films. I'de rather see 15min of this than 1 hour long fishery sessions. Brilliant Graeme.
Totally Awesome video. Graeme has the knack of not only catching fish but also in describing his strategies, his methods, fish habits, scenery & how he is feeling as he fishes. Very absorbing to watch. The fellow in the bogged van was lucky to catch Graeme just as he was leaving for home. He had the biggest & best catch of the day! Graeme. Looking forward to another TA Fishing adventure.
I love everything about coarse fishing ... except lugging the equipment about.
Great vid, btw. 👍
I can honestly say I've loved watching all these fishing videos!! Far better than the John Wilson programmes watched by many!! Well done for making such entertaining shows. Graeme... you've done yourself proud mate!! Good banter, great fish... and superb camera work!! Thoroughly impressed!!
Sir, what a gent and 1st class all round fisherman love Fridays!
Now I'm relaxed. Thanks Mr Pullen :-) I hope to see you some beach fishing soon. 🎣🏖️🤞🏻
My dad taught me to fish back in the 70's. He loved fishing for barble too. From those times, on the Worcestershire Severn, I learned that the best times to catch them are first and last light from Spring through to Autumn and it's the current that matters, much more than water clarity.
That groundbait looks like choc chip cookie dough...now I want cookies! Thanks Graeme!
nice one Graeme, just in time for the river season👍👍👍
I can't wait to hit my local river on Sunday and catch my first fish on the new fly rod!!!
ahhhh alls well with the world Graeme and Smifff with 3 f's are here😀😀😀😀
I’m slowly watching all your older videos all amazing thanks for the work that it takes to show all of us quality fishing
Another spectacular learning session! Thank you!
Quality video once again Graeme also props for pulling that guys van out i've done that before and had to phone my dad to come drive 1hr to pull me out haha he wasn't pleased to say the least.
The Bruce Forsyth of the fishing world!..very enjoyable videos..thank you.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the stone in the ground bait used, I used it back in the day it’s not the thing in today’s angling but it really works in fast rivers I live in north Norfolk not many fast rivers up here
Keep them coming Graham. It's good to see someone else likes to be working on a swim and not just sitting there. And who says fishing is a sedatery sport. Great vids. David B Chichester 👍🎣
You're a legend 👍
Great video Graham, really enjoyable, 👍👍👍🎣
Your show gives me all of the things that English shows provide, plus fishing!
Highest compliment to you, Sir!
From an American haha
Love this Graeme, what a video, watched every minute. GREAT WORK!!!!
Great to watch. And your early prediction came true. i.e. "one chub, two barbel, would be even better" (than two chub and a barbel)!!!
Hey there Graeme. Long time TA subscriber but never commented. I really enjoyed this video in a free flowing river that is a bit more 'wild'. This is much more like my experience in bluegrass region of KY, USA. Always wanted to see your techniques feeding and fishing in higher flow conditions like this. Keep 'em coming!
been watching your vdeos for around 2 weeks now love your energy and ive been fishing much more latley thanks to you loving it :) cheers for your hard work
Love your channel Graeme, you have this uncanny ability to make me just decide to go fishing haha. After watching this video I had to go out and get bait ready for some Sunday fishing haha
Yet another cracking video Graham. All those methods and tricks that worked when we were kids, still work now, the only difference nowadays is that there are more gadgets about to catch the angler, than will ever catch fish. My rule of thumb is, that the fish are there for one reason only, and that's to feed. 👍👍👍
I used to like to plop 4 cricket balls of white crumb with maggots inside into my swim on the Avon back as a kid. They'd sit there on the bottom and when i saw them start to roll, I'd pay attention, as the barbel would be at them trying to get the maggots out, that's when the float road came out. Pretty sure you gave me that tip!
Well done on this upload!
The reason for using red/green head lamps at night is that they don't screw up your night vision in the same way white lights do, they will give you a headache after a while though.
couple of days now then back on the rivers, cant wait.
Totally excellent, even though it it is freezing at the moment, I am tempted to go barbel fishing now.
Enjoyed your interview with the guy at the end.
Great stuff! Feels like I’m there with you-same sense of humor ( same age group) keep it coming-really appreciate it!
Get in, my favourite shows in!
Another TOTALLY AWESOME Fishing video Graeme 👍🎣👍🎣
Really love watching you guys fish, can really see the passion you have for fishing. Love how excited you get still when you have a fish on. Your the reason I got back into fishing. Now any spare time I get I spend it down the river. Keep on with the passion and hope for plenty more bent rods this season. Big respect from Essex 👍🏼
Even your random talk is so full of tips, it's ridiculous. You're just full of information. Thanks for the tips.
If ever you're up Hereford way again Graeme and want a fun days fishing for Barbel, park at the Leisure centre car park £6 for the day and there is a tackle shop over the road. Get a day ticket in there and bait etc and walk over the kings playing field. The river is full of smaller Barbel there and it's excellent fun on the maggot feeder. It's far enough out the way that you should be left alone by spectators too.
Love what you do
Great vid pal. Informative and funny. Thanks and keep it up
That transit was some fish!!!!
That was a P.B. tow for me. Prior to that it was a big tree on our property that I axed down with Mike .
River wye beautiful piece of countryside. And a fantastic fish the barbel. great clip tippy top topper.
Brilliant video as always, well done.
Greetz from Germany 🇩🇪🎣✌🏻️ cool vid💪🏻🎣👍🏼
In the states we consider these trash fish also same for the common carp fish. Both are Very destructive species, they would eat up all the river clams & salmon & trout eggs. We are allow to catch and dispatch them and trash them
not fished in a good few years, came across your videos too learn and pick up some good habits again and never laughed so much, great personality. so just checked out your recent video just to let you know never to stop uploading, really great content! Wish me luck tomorrow on Stambridge Fisheries Lake.
Beautiful part of the world. Great work!
fishing cinema verite 😊😊😊 ... always an adventure with ya Graeme! 💙🤙tight lines! ...ironically it is 5am here and im catching worms & im rigging up ...watching my fav fishing "show" on the planet! 🌎
Ha ha great vid. Graham goes home with no clutch 😂😂😂
All your hard work paid off .......WELL DONE :}
Was so looking forward to the boat this week 😥 anyway just love fishing and GP & TAFS
Boat stuff on the way...fret not !!
Great video Graham, fish these stretches myself so great to watch your approach etc. Was looking forward to opening night \day this weekend but with all the water on its looking very doubtful. Keep at it mate your brilliant to watch. All the best, marsh
Probably best to keep checking one of those EA water level guage sites, though I can never seem to work out the River Wye too well. You need local contacts, and the only "friend" I have is Smith's cousin who lives up that way.
good game! good game
cracking vid i got that engrossed I thought I was there fishing with you keep them vids coming your the modern day jack Hargreaves,,thankyou
Absolutely love this channel
Wow... duration no cutting... 1:13:01... amazing...👍💪🙏🙋
Flippin brilliant Graham, and great editing Mike. Don't take this the wrong way, but it's pleasing to hear you had a 6 hour blank. If the great Graham Pullen can have a blank, it makes me feel a whole lot better whenever a mere mortal like me has one. Once again, great entertainment. Thank you both.
Hi Graeme, great video! I'd love to see another pen rod challenge on a small stream. Perhaps you could revisit the small streams that you have been to before :)
Way to go on this one!
Fishing river yare aug, looking forward to it
Great vid thanks. 👍
Wonderful
Like the idea of adding a stone to help hold bottom
Great session as usual regards Barrie
Thumbs up!!!
Clark
You the man 👍
Lovely vid 🤘🏼
Nearly a year on. Waiting for the 20-21 season. Spent lockdown getting tips from TA Fishing. Still a green rookie, but hoping to earn my angling stripes very soon.
Top man 👍👍
It may be the start of the season but the river banks will still be deserted here in Devon, most anglers will go for the easy fishing at the Carp Puddles as usual!
Do fly fishing in a river for brown trout (not stocked fish)
Thanks Graeme another great episode. I was on the river today and thinking back over the years of TA and i can't remember you or Mike mentioning hemp, do you rate it?
Not so Glorious 16th this year with all this rain the rivers are well up and running through like a freight train hopeing to get out later in the week though IF the rain stops
Yeah I hear the Severn is well out of order...might take a week to run off but could be some decent fishing as all the fresh water running down will push all the weed and rubbish out.
@@TAFishing Yeah i was going to fish the Rother up here in south yorkshire but been for a look today and there's about as much hance of winning lottery than there is that River being fishable on sunday lol
Great video Graeme, thoroughly enjoyed! Damn Smith at it again 😂
Will you be dusting off the fly rod this summer?
Just waiting for the wind to die down and air temperatures to rise so I can do some dry fly for trout. Don't want to waste time when conditions not right.
brilliant video and great session. wasnt the other guy's barbel at the end from an early session this year/late last
You can’t beat long trotting
Graeme your talking the fish into the net........I know why the wifey sends you fishing now lol
You should use a float tube ....nice
Lovely vid. I've promised myself a couple of days Wye or Severn for Barbel this year. Newbie experience for me. I guess I can get ticket, advice, even which b+b, location map, everything from Woody or Mal's shops? Thanks loved this video. Fair play for dragging that van out top man!
Yes,both shops should be able to give you advice, even down to local B&B's.
Nice channel!
Good video m8 i enjoyed that nice T A F
Another belter Graham my boat is still not in the water (mercruiser problem) so this is the next best thing
Don't worry,I haven't been out for a while myself, naff weather and not so great fishing..just as the good weather comes the south coast will probably die a death with the Mayweed rot.
good vid graeme
I've fished that very swim and stretch for over 20yrs during the day I would have been in the deep water the next field up then move into that swim about 4pm till 8pm ;)
That's the advantage of local knowledge....easy when you have it,saves wasted time in wrong area, but a lot are like me,live hundreds of miles away and just have the occasional day to work it out.
@@TAFishing you had a good result and well done for sticking it out i would have moved a long time ago, if your ever down again let me know I'd happily show you around and maybe a fish or two :)
Maybe you should look into getting a wireless mic system so you don't have to lose all those fish you say you lose while messing with gear. Love the channel and thanks for sharing the trip.
Another awesome video... had all my gear stolen last week while fishing on my own £200 of gear. All I had.... be careful graham !! Great content pal
Graeme****
Sorry to hear that...if they saw my gear they would probably walk away feeling sorry !!
Another excellent film and some top angling, as per usual from Graeme. These longer video formats are fantastic for a Friday evening. Thanks guys 👍
Hi, I've just moved to a new house in North Devon, with the opportunity to possibly fish from the back deck, but I have zero experience, it's in a fast moving river, about 2 miles from the sea, the high tide probably comes 20 meters away from my back garden, and we have a defence wall about 9 or 10 ft up from the river floor which is just boggy grass and mud, is it possible to fish from such a location ? And if so, could you do a video showing everything for a complete beginner knowing absolutely nothing about fishing ? From setting up a rod, to tackle, weights, landing a fish ect. Thanks.
steven giles if you’ve got the time I’d say make a deck.. doesn’t need to be to long either, I’ve seen some made out of those big barrels before but that guy was a welder so he had the resources
Great video as always graham liked the underwater part.On another subject i am heading tope fishing next month could you tell what would be the best video for me to watch on tope fishing on your channel thanks
There is one in the sea/boat section I think..we have over 700 films up...I think you have to go into the playlist somewhere.
Amazing content!!!! Reply inspire me to get out on the bank !!!!
Do more carp fishing pls
Do you fish a bit with a hair rig, carp are so touchy on the pickup I would think you could miss a few. How are you set up to prevent spitouts?
I never fish hair rig with rolling meat, the free hook will snag on weed and stones every cast. Hair rigs are best fished static in slower water. I am touch legering so feel the take the minute the fish grabs the bait.
Where do I go to buy maggots ??? My takel shops don’t have them much
join the AA, angling adventures and a free tow
I've never seen anyone go fishing by chucking meatballs into a river with a slingshot!!!! Decided to check out your channel, from Mike's. Interesting.
The tackle shops over here sell a wide variety of catapults for getting your bait out in the water. From small lightweight elastic for baits like maggots,to the rigid pouch groundbait catapult that I was using. Don't see my type used much nowadays, its a bit old school.
As always Graeme great video. Actually caught my first ever 'Doggie's' today near Pagham Harbour...on my last two ragworms :) (only been fishing a year and I'm 60+!!) By the way did you see my comment about your writing a book on sea bait back in 1988?
Well done with the Dogs, many a time they have saved a blank for me. Try a bit of night fishing, but watch your rod down there...its prime Smoothhound country.
@@TAFishing Cheers Graeme...yes I've been warned! You didn't mention the book?
Looking for advice on a feeder rod. What do you use and what length?
I have no idea, you need to ask a club member,or matchmen and then try a tackle shop or online .I don't know the names of the new stuff.
Wait. What, you getting the fish drunk using Bailey's Irish whiskey?
