He moves to the other side of the door to get away from the misic, and it gets louder, haha.
that's a BIG mistake, everybody knows the rules
Yeah, that wasn't the smartest thing I've seen Scotty Portnoy do
He's a moron
Classic Davey Boi
LOL I noted that as well.
Dave's mind... She was in the movie - "Mystic Pizza"... then proceeds to quote lines from "Pretty Woman". --- LOL
....Freudian slip.
He mentioned Pretty Woman immediately before quoting it than they showed the clip from Pretty Woman. I'm pretty sure he meant to talk about and quote Pretty Woman because Julia Roberts was in Pretty Woman and also in Mystic Pizza. He was commenting on her beauty in her prime and then brought up Pretty Woman, which is arguably one of Julia's most famous rolls.
Lolololololol.. that's Scotty for ya! Everybody knows the rules.
@@earthwormandruw No shit captain obvious...that's the joke
@@yorkazuna5934 it was a joke? Oh I couldn't tell. Probably because it wasn't funny. And it's Admiral Obvious.
Bad weather, nice town, bad pizza. That's a review!
Accurate
That's it in a nutshell. Mystic is great, the pizza absolutely is not, and the weather is a crapshoot lol.
This comment gets an 8.3
This is the most accurate way to describe Mystic.
Fr. Weather around here was terrible all spring. Drove through Mystic today and it was beautiful with the sun out
Growing up in the 80s and 90s, hanging out at the arcade, playing video games, eating pizza and listening to music like that.... 🔥 🔥 👍
I miss those places, and not this chucky cheese shit, real pizza places with good arcade games and legit pizza. Now I want to run to the local shop, grab a pie, come back home and play Mortal Kombat, haha!
You’re so lucky!
@@ryanmarkley1979 Played many hrs of Asteroids in my day LOL
Agree, looks like 80s pizza for sure. 😊
The best time of my life
9.9 for the Ambrosia Yacht Rock blasting in the background...
'you're the only woman' is the name of a song. Definitely going to put on my Sunday playlist tomorrow consisting of bangers like:
Mama Can't Buy You Love - Elton John
Some Become Strangers - Stevie Nicks
Graceland - Paul Simon
How Much I Feel - Ambrosia
Sara Smile - Hall and Oates
The Lodger - Style Council
Don't forget with the Michael Macdonald!
lol I just asked what the song was ty
I've probably heard that song a million times since I was a kid in the '70s, but I never could have even ventured a guess as to who performed it. I probably would have said Malcolm MacDonald.
@@rutabega2039 the long lost brother of Michael McDonald?
Thanks for the review, Scott.
After all these years I find out Papa Johns is “Greek Pizza!”
Is that why I think it’s disgusting?
I mean, yeah… 100%.
What do you mean… is that papas johns pizza?
@@chrisblueboy1011 It totally looks like it.😂
It sure does!
Dave loving the loud sounds of Ambrosia. Everybody knows the rules.
Is that the song?
@@Noone-jn3jp That's the band. You're The Only Woman is the song. - czcams.com/video/MCdTHHjYxPo/video.html
@@Noone-jn3jpambrosia is the band, the song is “you’re the only woman “
Did Dave just rename this place "mistake pizza"
It's a shame too,great location in a great town.
scott u mean
The music was the highlight of the review.
scott killlin the pizza game
I think this Is one of Scott’s first mistakes. Dave would have never come here in the first place, pizza papa John’s like. Dave has a little more under his belt to not do this one. Still loving the Scotty reviews though 🎉
Love hearing Ambrosia in the background!!!!!
Dave had a crush on Julia... comes back 21 years later and scores her 6.2!!! #savage
I've had that pizza. 6.2 is generous.
Nah, she's still a 10. 6.2 for the pizza was generous, even if one were a Greek pizza fan.
It was worth hearing Ambrosia in the background. A banger.
Whats the song name?
@@Plague_Doc22Ambrosia - You’re The Only Woman
@@simonsinistaj1917 cheers
@@Plague_Doc22 Check out some of their other songs as well. “Biggest Part of Me” is a great.
Went there three years ago because of the movie. Pizza was not good and the movie wasn’t filmed where this Pizza Parlor is at.

Ambrosia playing in the background. That's a winner for me
The music in the background with this review is perfect 😂😂😂 love this song btw lol

Any business that blasts music into the street is an idiot
That made me laugh way harder than it should have. 🤣
Big mistake
@@richhoops2413Huge
Especially when you have outdoor seating. If I'm sitting outside with a friend or w/e i want to be able to talk without having to shout.
THe music is perfect! You should do this every episode. Maybe some Hall & Oates next time.
Boxes kill pizza. Quote from David Scott Portnoy. Ban all pizza boxes.
Scott Portnoy was hilarious.
Greeks kill pizza. Greek pizza in a box... just feed it to the homeless.
One bite. That song is still playing in Dave's head
Connecticut has great pizza… Mystic pizza is not one of those pizzas… and I love Greek pizza
greek pizza is my favourite type as well, dont get the hate
This comment 100%
Great song! Total yacht rock vibe bro. Prez jamming to this no doubt.
Dave don't give a fuk about that copyright strike. Lol
The music is 🔥
There used to be frozen Mystic pizza, I loveeeeddddd it! Haven't seen it in year.
Big Y had it for a bit but stopped carrying it, but I think I saw it at a stop & shop a while back!
@@natalieauroraphoto That pizza tastes so good, not like most frozen pizzas.
Big y does indeed have it
scott moving over closer to the speaker. big mistake.
By far one of the best reviews out of all of them simply for the Ambrosia playing in the background!
You're the only pizza I've been dreaming of....
In my nightmare
I ate a lot of frozen Mystic pizzas growing up. They were always on sale at Big Y. Not a bad frozen pie. CT is loaded with Greek pizza spots
Thicker crust is all. Like pizza hut but good. @@pezoulas36
@@pezoulas36 It’s thicker then like a NY style, usually this perfect crunch to the outside of the crust but still pillow soft on the inside. Tall looking crust, like a step or two down from something you’d find in Chicago. Crust is like they spread a little butter on it right at the end. Usually very heavy on the cheese, high quality mozzarella but can be a little oily because of it. Also a little heavier on the sauce. It will always be floppier almost a knife and fork pizza if your not trying to wear the sauce and cheese.
If done right Greek style can be very nice in its own right. Just not everyone’s cup of tea. I like my Greek style pizza with fresh quality Hamburg and pepperoni if not gold standard cheese. We have some Lebanese in my town that also make great pizza similar to the Greeks.
@@jrs4ex I've had some excellent Greek pizza like you describe, but not as heavy. NH in the 70's/80's. An airy, slightly crispy crust seemingly formed of tiny bubbles, and just a tad chewey.... but overall, crispness more than soft. Haven't found it like that in a long time. The place near me that used to make it now has one of those damned conveyer ovens.
@@festerofest4374 Sounds good. Yea conveyer belt pizza is usually made by high school kids too. If you ever make it to CT here’s some spots to consider.
CJ’s Pizza & Giant Grinders- Manchester, CT recently voted viewers choice best pizza in CT by Channel 3 news competition. Same family owned since 1970.
Willington Pizza in Willington, CT won many national awards been around for decades owner was my neighbor. Great specialty pies too
New England Pizza in Vernon CT
@@pezoulas36 what state do you live in?
That music came through suprisingly clear... I had to add it to my Spotify list
Everybody knows Davey told the owner to pump the yacht rock in Mystic in the rain!

Music provided by Ambrosia
Back in the day, used to call Greek "House of Pizza" joints as "grease pits."
For real. They're all soooo bad and there's so many of them
"Greece Pits" makes more sense though ;)
As someone that has been making Italian pizza in New Haven county for 30 years,,, I should tell you that you have to get real Greek pizza made by actual Greeks, not Albanians or Turks. There are some good spots but they are few and far between.
@@saganworshipper6062 There are/were a few good ones along the shoreline and in eastern CT... Yorkside of course.
Best soundtrack of any review yet. Ambrosia with the banger !
Now Mystic Dan will bomb in the Preakness stakes tomorrow. Thanks for the Tip.
Ambrosia is gonna copyright strike this and finally make some 2024 money.
I think they should get at least 1/3 of the ad revenue. They basically carried this 6.2 pizza video.
Don’t ever move when a song that amazing and awesome is playing in the background. One of the all time greats
He moved CLOSER to the speaker 😂
I was last here in probably 2008. As a kid, it took a little getting used to the peppery flavor of the sauce. But I've always found it a nice place to go when visiting Mystic (the aquarium, the seaport, etc.). Always inside, not takeout. While it's a little different, a 6.2 is too low. But I don't mind Greek pizza. I've seen the movie only once, and prefer the pizza to it.
Potty missed out on the best pizza joint in Groton, CT: New York Family Pizza! Their pizza, with its authentic New York style and very thin crust, is truly exceptional! Location; by Kohls
I'm local and this didnt ring a bell. I asked my wife and she immediately flipped out on me, telling me how good it was and asking me how I've grown up here almost 40 years and never heard of it. She said she loves it. Guess we are going there tonight lol
@@PapawsDadillacOEMplus That's cool getting a recommendation from another youtuber from one of the comments. Not that much pizza where i live. The best place around me would probably get a 7.1 - 7.2 from Dave. It's floppy too.
Great soundtrack by Ambrosia
Greek Pizza is a whole different category of Pizza. CT has a ton of great greek pizza places. CJs in Manchester is my fav. Love it probably because I grew up with it
The background music is an excellent addition
Is it always Greek pizza with loud music?
Scott will bring his dog Apples with him on occasion but yes.
Scotty Portz with another banger! 😂
Jammin some Ambrosia!!
This Scott guy is gonna do well on youtube
Need to retire that Bruins hat for the season Dave. Just watched the Panther's eliminate them :) Thanks for continuing to do these reviews. I am totally jealous that you get to fly around the country tasting all these pizza restaurants. Keep up the good work El Presidente. BTW - love the WSVN Miss Peachies interview, she is a star!!!!!
I love greek pizza! Living in Connecticut, it is quite plentiful. I love just about any pizza though, as long as it is not a chain. Support your independent restaurants.
Looks like a hybrid Dominoes x Pizza Hut undercooked mess of a pizza. When I was there a decade ago, they were blasting the music outside and had movie memorabilia inside.
Why do I love him so much? 😂 these reviews are highhhhlarious!
Scotty Loves His 90's Rom-Coms!
It looks good to me. I love Greek pizza.
Dave gave it the same score as the movie on IMDB but since then it went up to 6.3
Dave,
When you are in central Jersey - Conte’s Princeton, DeLucia Somerville and DeLorenzo Hamilton territory - take a not so long ride to Napoli Pizza in Frenchtown, located on the Delaware River.
Order a well done pie, and guaranteed you will find it as outstanding and well worth the ride, brothers Ben and Sal owners for many years.
And keep up the good work promoting the great primarily Italian American pizzerias, makers of the world’s most beloved food!
I had pizza here. It was crispy, juicy, moderate flop... extremely tasty.
It was also in 1999. I guess it's not a shocker that things can change a lot in a quarter of a centry.
Great review Scott!
Lili Collins was in that movie, but i liked her better in Say Anything.

Love that song
Great song. Sounds like they have Yacht Rock on 👍🏻
Score would have been in the 5's if not for the sweet sounds of Ambrosia lifting Dave's spirits
Hell yes Dave let’s fuckingggg goooo
Fair score for a tourist trap
6.2 is super high for Greek pizza
* you have to be super high for Greek pizza
If the crust is crunchy it's ok but 95% of the time it's a soupy greasy mess. This looks like it shoulda been in the 5's.
Back in the old days this was a 5.6
Sauce is awful, tast like peppers in it. A metric ton of cheese on top like wayyy too much. Just really bad stuff. Nice dough though
@@joepalermo6269 That's always the problem I found and why greek gets such a bad rap. They either put on too much cheese or super inferior quality cheese and its just a greesy goopy mess. So the crust soaks up all the grease and becomes nasty.
Definitely Greek as soon as you opened the box.
🎶“You’re the only woman that I’m dreaming of”🎶
Anyone know the song name? Sounds like a chill vibe.
I remember trying one of their nationwide frozen Mystic Pizzas in high school it was horrible.

Pizza and Yacth Rock, my kinda day!!
AMBROSIA was the best part! 😁
Music brings you back to the great old 1980ties, love it.
Mystic Pizza, puberty, Annabeth Gish, Julia Roberts, Lili Taylor...that was some hard sh*t, ran home from school like Usain Bolt for a couple of weeks. "Everything ok?" "Just the stomach!". Probably burned more calories than training for marathons years later.
The yacht rock is on point
Not Dave cursing the bruins 😂
Keepin' it real, Dave. Respect.
DAVE FROM WALES 🏴 UK BIG LOVE !!
And if you haven't seen the movie, it plays on repeat. So you can watch that while you eat your Chuck E Cheese caliber pizza. Mystic is a nice looking town though, and the aquarium is neat. The isn't worth a stop.
I love Greek pizza and there was a great spot in Meriden but it closed down 5 years ago. Lulu's Restaurant in Enfield has a decent Greek pizza
