I think it's mostly because he has a much more stable car now that doesn't require overdriving. That RB is on rails this year. The ground effect also makes them less twitchy than the previous generation of cars.
Checo is still overdriving the car because it was never built to suit his driving style. It's a shame he isn't able to adapt to it, but they must have fundamentally different driving styles that don't both gel with the car.@@adamantiteB

Funny to see that people blame him for others their mistakes, while he's driving in such a way that he forces others to drive perfect, or make mistakes. The only mistakes he made are in Monaco, where he takes way way way too much risks all the time. This year he had the perfect lap there, but the amount of risks he takes there are ridiculous. He allways takes a hell of a lot of risk, somehow in other locations he simply makes a 360 and continues to drive, in Monaco he can't do that, he will hit the walls instantly.
