I would argue that he may just have the #1 channel for sports cars in general. He's just as happy behind the wheel of a brand new 911 as he is behind the wheel of vintage sports cars from the 50s and 60s.

GOD I love this channel. So glad I found/subscribed. In 1970 I bought a 1959 XK-150 and a good friend of mine bought a '64 XKE the same month. I sold mine in 1975 when I ran out of money restoring it, and my friend wrapped his around a large oak tree, lingered for a few months in the hospital, and succumbed to his injuries. But he gave me a few death rides in that XKE after which I promised myself "never again". However, the Jag experience was so thoroughly ingrained that I took subsequent rides, barely escaping death each time. But it was a great car, and I still miss my XK-150. Try buying one fully restored for less than $200k nowadays. I bought mine for $750.00! This YT channel is the best of this genre, bar none. Cheers.

My father had a 1969 E-type that was absolutely gorgeous in yellow with a black interior. Driving it was an experience, to put it mildly. The handling was so much better than you’d expect on such a long car, but the real surprise was the performance: it was much faster than you’d expect, and when you planted your foot down you got shoved back in your seat HARD. The only bad thing about the car was the insane level of maintenance, and even then it broke down a lot. But when it was running well it was heaven on wheels.

When you say high maintenance was it mechanical or electrical problems?they say the engine is reliable but the cooling system isn't the best ,and then there the dreaded prince of darkness "LUCAS"

I drove a '63 E-type roadster on a couple of occasions back in the late 70s. It still stands as the ultimate automotive experience in my life. It did still have the original gear box, and I remember it was a bit difficult going from 1st to 2nd gear.

I love the vicarious experience of having a driver view of the E-Type, with synchro manual no less - sweet. Is the E-Type stable and comfortable at 70 - 90 mph (or more) by modern standards, which of course is different than asking can it just go fast? I have a 15 yo 5 series BMW that requires effort around town and 0-60. Many modern crossovers of course can get a jump at a stop light and 0-60. Also I don't want to stress my car for silly advantage, every single time! However, on the highway it is super stable especially with the current Michelin tires. It can be in it's element especially when there are highway grades and curves. Leaves some modern vehicles behind under "GT" conditions.

This is one of those cars which sound really great and drive good considering production year, but honestly, I never understood the visual appeal of E-Type. I had the opportunity to meet two different ones in person and I am really having hard time understanding where all the praise is coming from or for. I would accept a rationale, if anyone would care to share.
To me, a Volvo P1800 looks better than this E-type. Am I strange? :)
