    How could you forget one of the greatest red goblin sacrifice cards of all time...GOBLIN GRENADE?!?

    Gravelighter is another card in the same vein as Fleshbag Marauder, but it gives you the additional choice of forcing a sac or getting card draw.

    so if I understand correctly for example in a Atla Palani deck if you sacrifice an egg while Atla Palani is on the battlefield you wouldn't get the death trigger on the egg so therefore Atla wouldn't be revealing off the top

    • @LostPlaneswalker
      @LostPlaneswalker  Před 4 měsíci +1

      No the egg will die when it is sacrificed and you should reveal off the Atla Palani trigger. Dies is simply “is put into a graveyard from the battle field”. That’s why tokens can die even though they won’t stay in your graveyard. They can still die. I understand the confusion sacrifice messes with how some things interact but you should be ok in this way. Let me know if you’re still confused and I will do my best to help but I hope you have a great day!

    I still don't understand the activation conditions for Sacrifice. Are you able to sacrifice at Instant speed? I have also seen some people block with a creature, then sacrifice it before it dies. Can you sacrifice tokens? Is there any place I can see the details for this ruling?

    • @LostPlaneswalker
      @LostPlaneswalker  Před rokem +4

      Let me see if I can further clarify. Sacrifice acts at instant speed. You can't just choose to sacrifice creature you need some kind of outlet like an activated ability of a creature or artifact. Cards like carrion feeder and phyrexian alter have an activated ability and can be triggered when ever you like. In combat you can sac a creatures after they block because you have time to respond between phases. So you can block and after blocks are declared you can sac the creature and the attacking creature will still be blocked. The only place you really need to watch out for this is when you are blocking a creature with trample. Creatures with trample still go through if you sac the creature blocking it. Token can be sacrificed.
      I always check out MTG Wiki, they have good explanations of how it all works.

    • @LostPlaneswalker
      @LostPlaneswalker  Před rokem +1

      Yes they do! As long as the zombie you are sacrificing doesn't have decay, both ability will trigger. I hope you have a great day!

    Can I use a card to sacrifice a food token then activating the food to heal me for 3 health?

    • @LostPlaneswalker
      @LostPlaneswalker  Před 6 měsíci +2

      The short answer yes and no. You can sacrifice the food token with one effect and then also sacrifice the food to gain the health but after the food is sacrificed the original effect sacrifice the token no longer can trigger since it no longer is their and will fizzle. Another way to think about it is if a player makes you sacrifice a creature and you decide to sacrifice the create for some effect. After the chosen creature is gone you still must sacrifice a creature to your opponent effect. The trigger all go on the stack and will then trigger from the top down and whatever sacrifice is closer to the top will trigger first and leave any additional costs or effects to still take place or fizzle. I know this is confusing and I hope this helped make some sense but you technically can but you will not get both benefits since the token will have gained you the life but will not also give you what every you wanted form sacrificing the food

      @@LostPlaneswalker yes this kind of answers my question. I more meant does using a sacrifice ability on the food essentially gives me the health but without the cost of 2 mana taps for the sacrifice to trigger then and give me health? Like do I still have to pay the cost of It to activate the healing factor?

    I'm building an aristocrat meren deck and my question is: can I sacrifice a creature I just cast?
    Example: I cast reassembling skeleton and I immediately sacrifice it to Ashnod's Altar. Can I do that?

    • @LostPlaneswalker
      @LostPlaneswalker  Před rokem

      Hey Rick,
      So to answer your question sacrificing a creature to ashnod’s alter and be triggered at instant speed so on your or your opponents turns. As long as the creature you control in question resolves and is on the battle field you can sacrifice it. A combo that is one of my favorites is Phyrexia alter and gravecrawler. As long as you have another zombie you can recast gravecrawler from your graveyard and use the one black mana to recast it. Having one other card that triggers when a creature dies to make a treasure or deal damage to your opponents like blood artist is a really powerful way to win a game.
      One card I would recommend you look into if your building a meren deck is spore frog. You can sacrifice it to negate all combat damage and use meren to get it back in your next turn. It get better later in the game when it’s just you and an opponent and can repeat this process to protect your self every turn. This can give you enough time to build up your board and be able to overpower your opponent. I hope this all helps and you have a great day!
