  • Real tough stage to wrap your head around for the purposes of this category. Took me a bit to figure out how to get through some of these rooms. It's best to just ignore the switch gimmick for a good chunk of the rooms, and the ones where you do actually have to interact with the gimmick in a meaningful way are some of the harder rooms. They're the ones that tend to require more complex movement. Once you understand how to do most of the rooms, the execution isn't all that much harder than stuff in the same tier. So if you've done a whole bunch of other jump saver runs, then this one shouldn't be too bad...is what I would say if I didn't spend 6 hours on this stage. I really wanted that sub 3 minute time. And towards the end, I started making the same mistakes over and over. Now, usually you should probably take that as a sign to take a break, but I was determined to get it on this night. And the end result was fairly satisfactory. I crushed that 3 minute barrier.
I guess I should actually talk about some specific parts of the stage. There's a few rooms that you should use a CoilJet to get past. You should definitely get good at those if you want any chance of doing well in this category. Make sure to not trigger any switches on the way through and also be smart about what damage you take. I routed in a Ctrl+R in the stage, but if you don't want to take it, then your health situation might look a little grim towards the end. Just remember that for the Electric Gabyoalls, taking contact damage from the Gabyoall itself rather than the electricity is better (2 damage vs 4).
I mentioned an intentional Ctrl+R in this stage. This is the same as the Retry function in the pause menu, but it's faster because you can do it in between screen transitions and you don't have to pause to use it. The usual purpose of this is to refill health, but in this game, using an E Tank or an M Tank is so fast that I don't find it worth it most of the time. The reason I do this Ctrl+R is not just to refill health though. It's also because at the checkpoint at which I do it, the spawn point gives the perfect setup to Electro Cable out of the little rut that we're in. In that same room, I also use a lot of Electro Cable Scooching to skip part of the puzzle. Saves a little backtracking, but at the cost of a ton of Electro Cable ammo. I actually run out partway through the final section, but thankfully, Solar Siphon has me covered. Which is another reason why the health refill from that Ctrl+R is useful.
Speaking of the final section, it's supposed to be an autoscroller, but why it no autoscroll? My guess is that the trigger for the autoscroller to start is smaller than the switch so if you only touch a bit of the switch like I do here, then you'll flip the switch so you can progress, but the autoscroll doesn't start. Definitely makes this section a lot easier which is much appreciated because it's a bit of a headache to figure out. When it splits into three parts, you have to be careful not to get hit by a Searchy when you're using Track Shoes because you'll take knockback, it'll flip the switch and suddenly you can't climb the side you're on. Clinging onto Electro Cable should mitigate that. There's also the part after that with the large blocks of red and blue solids. Getting on that part in the first place is a little janky. You need the switch to be red and you have to be right up against the blue blocks, but not in them so that when you Electro Cable straight up, the Electro Cable clings onto the blue blocks and you can Track Shoes up. After that, you Rush Coil repeatedly to get up the section. But the Energy Element is too high for you to get from the grey platform at the very top so you need to Rush Coil + Tornado Blow to get it while the switch is blue. There's a janky other alternative where you use Banshee Wail to stop your Rush Coil jump in the middle of the last switch and then while the switch is red, using Rush Coil to get to the Element.
This is the first 0 jump run on the leaderboard. For improvements, my weapon swapping could use some work. Near the start, if you do your Rush Bike to Track Shoes swap just right, you can pass that Neo Heli Metall without getting hit. The last section could also use a lot of work. It's a kinda hard section so I bumble around a little.

Absolutely unhinged run. You, sir, are a completely insane person.
