Thanks for your sacrifice and service. Much respect to all servicemen and women.
I love this video really motivating I’m going to the Air Force as well! And as a 4N in the Air Force too! I can’t wait, hearing these type of stories motivate me so much!
What was the process for you of transitioning from military to a surgeon.
Hey boss! I really like your content and knowledge you give us, I have a quick question. Did you get your undergrad while in Active duty?
Air Force medic on the battlefield? Huh?! You must mean in a hospital
I appreciate this video👍🏽
Wow you made SG in 3 years! You were high speed.
Those degree angles was not a joke. I remember then flipping beds almost everyday. Also, make sure those wall lockers were locked while you were away for else. I plan to follow the pathway that you have painted. I completed a total of 8.5 years active duty Army before medically retired. At this moment I am currently taking care of prerequisite courses but have earned my BA in psychology. My undergrad degree was during my active duty time where I earned an overall GPA of 3.8395. Would you recommend earning another undergrad degree with a premedical focus or just completing the mandatory pre-reqs? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Hey I’m from Shreveport too but I have a few questions. Do you think I could complete my bachelors degree within my 4 year enlistment online ? Would an online degree be accredited for med school ? Are there an health care jobs I can do in the military straight out of high school ?
My plan is to go to the Marines right after high School and then switch over to the Navy and go to medical school for anesthesiologist any pointers?

Hi,
Thanks for the comment and watching! That sounds like a good plan. My only thoughts is that it maybe hard to go to school while on active duty Marines. I was in the Air Force and did 90% of my undergrad on active duty because the air force is not as demanding as marines (not saying it can't be done). Hope this helps!

Just start in the Navy as a hospital corpsman and you can be a marine medic... the marines get all their medicine from the Navy...
I'm a Marine veteran...you can do what you wish, but if I were in your shoes, I would go into the Navy in a medical MOS. I've known several people (Navy corpsman) who did this route and were able to take advantage of programs and opportunities - two examples in particular: one became a flight surgeon, the other became an RN. Both had enough years that after becoming an officer, they did their time owed and then a few years and were able to retire from active duty, which allowed them to be young enough to enter the civilian medical community and collect a retirement check.
Im going into the Air Force as Surgical Services then after that, medschool to become a Forensic Pathologist.
Did you leave the military and attend university then med school? Thinking about embarking on the same path
Hello I’m interested in being a medic in Air Force or a combat medic in Army and straight out of high school and wanting to be a surgeon, will I be able to get my bachelors degree while active?
What was your undergraduate GPA?
But he had to reapply twice so we want to know what it takes to get accepted. A 3.2 can't get someone into medical school.
We only want to know what his GPA was. I emailed him but he still hasn't gotten back.
How many different schools did you apply to?
It's been approx. three years, so my reply probably wont mean anything. However if you still manage to see this... doctorate path is very uniform (point A to B to C to D to E etc) but at the same time its different for everybody. Yes, GPA's and Test scores will be the sole predictors if you will be accepted or not but there are unique pathway stories to many doctors including Dr.Webb. He did a post bacc after getting his degree probably because his GPA wasn't med school "worthy", and he had 7+ yrs working as a med tech in the military.
Honestly, his undergraduate GPA shouldn't matter to you. Nobody's undergraduate GPA should matter to anyone. The present is what you should be focusing on. When you focus on the process more than you focus on the result, the result will come to you naturally. When done the other way around, you will either face adversities, or you will become discouraged/unmotivated due to the lack of progress.
example of two different mindsets:
1: "Im gonna go to the gym and Im gonna be jacked af >:^)"
2: "Im gonna start off going to the gym 3 times a week"
Even though they may be similar, a slight change in mindset will do you a big favour in the long run.
Good luck :^)
Kareem Turjman Shaddap!
is it too late to go in at age 24?
Never too late, it's harder than when you're younger and that question is something you'll keep asking yourself. If you need it, go for it, be tenacious, whatever your limits are push them take the burden on yourself and realize how much you want the end goal. You got this! Some programs are out there where you can do your prereqs and med school in 6 years.
