If you play kickboxing with Alex Pereira, you pay the price
chama
It was not... Repeating Bone Striking.... Energy vibration.... KO.. dizzy Brain... Eehh. Not the Best KO... Damns... He needed that KO...
During the elbow... TKO.... JiiRii hands fell. KO.. Seconds before. A fallback. .
When hands are that High!! Look wrist Level. Or below. Best Part. Thai High Guard. Or elbows up to shoulders!!! Me. High Guard. Helps. Baiting body shots for Head hooks. Lol. High guard. Higher High Kick!!
Alex dethroned Henry as the best combat fighter in the world
If that went all rounds Jiri would have needed a year rehab on his leg.
True also those elbow if that match was continued those elbow would preety much be deadful for jiri and his longevity
@@Ichirakaenit was a hella early stoppage
For real them calf kicks were super nasty.
@@novaclan8542 both his arms sprawled out after he fell back he was done, just recovered quickly after the KO
@@novaclan8542he got dropped twice in 7 seconds. His hands went completely limp when Alex was hammer fisting the side of his head = he was out. If Goddard didn’t stop it jiri woulda taken unnecessary damage from Alex mounting him and punching his face in.
Alex's defense on the ground was really great. I was afraid for him when he got taken down given how nasty Jiri is with his elbows on the ground.
Alex has always had good ground defense, people just ignore it bc he doesn’t really go for submissions like that
@@realtalkboxing.lmao that’s not why people ignore it, it’s because he’s a kickboxer use common sense
@@realtalkboxing.hes definitely very limited on the ground and is ONLY defensive. An offensive submission game was needed in this fight for jiri of he wanted a chance at winning. Alex just has too much short power in his hands and leg kicks and isnt worth standing up with exchanging with him overtime. Hes just gonna fck you up.
One of Alex's big advantages imo is that everyone always ignores that his defensive ground game is not actually that bad! Jiri landed I think two shots on him that entire time on the ground, which is crazy. Obv he's always gonna be a striker but people keep thinking they can grapple him if they need to and then it doesn't really do anything for them
@@Jdjff-rp2ln looks to me more people agree with me than you
Oh, your take on the "early stopage" makes so much sense. Surely it was a little bit premature, but it does not change the fact that he did get caught in a terrible position. I was rooting for Jiri, but that was a well deserved win for Poatan.
jiri even said it was a good stop - he was out
dude just shut up, Jiri admitted it himslef@@Flaxaz
I may agree it's a bit early, but Jiri was hit by too much elbow and got limp for a moment you can't blame Goddard for his judgement to protect the fighters. Just remember that the referee is making their decisions in real time and not relying on a replay.
Jiri took 8 punches and 5 elbows 😂 the early stoppage argument is hilarious. Even Jiri said he was out. Do y’all really wanna see Jiri receive more damage that could’ve been detrimental to his career longevity
@@Flaxaz Nerd says "eVeN i tHouGhT hE wEnT oUt" as if your opinion is the gold standard lmao.

I bet i can take them
@@pedropaulo174same, I eat those
I knew if jiri came in with his hands down he was getting attached
Btw that’s not a boxing technique hook that’s a kickboxing style hook where you turn your shoulders and hips they are very different from standard boxing hooks I I know this because I trained boxing for years and when I started training Muay Thai / Dutch kickboxing the punches are so different they are all 100% power from the ground to the hips to the shoulder rotation that’s why theres so many more knockouts in kickboxing then I’m regular boxing because they want every strike to cause maximum damage where as boxing is about landing punches to score points or set up for a heavy strike

Jiri was on upward motion with a 2 hand grip, pereira lands 8-9 elbows and Jiri goes completely limp falling on his back.
From a camera crowd y can the spot the moment his soul left his body
well said everyone was telling me that I was wrong for saying it was a good stoppage, even Jiri himself said that we was out cold.
Exactly!!!! All the people who saying it was a early stoppage is crazy, they wanted to see jiri go thru more damage then he needed too!
He was moving when the fight was stopped
That is not at all what happened, it only happened in your head. If they would let him continue he would've won the fight eventually. You can see the absolute relief from Pereira's face when they stop the fight prematurely. Jiri would've took him to deep waters and finished him.

Honestly, 3rd fight with Adesanya doesn't interest me... I'd rather him fight Jamahal Hill
Yeah since izzy lost especially. If he was still dominant, I'd be more interested on double champ status
If Izzy was still MW champ I’d say yeah make a 3rd fight
Most Definitely, he should start a glover avenge tour and call out the fighters that beat glover.

Mark's stoppage was perfect. He gave Jiri a chance to get back up after being knocked out by the left hook as he knows what Jiri is like and can recover to run on auto-pilot for a bit, but those elbows made him buckle and until he was completely out. You’re the man DJ! Glad to see your channel growing so much! Fighting and video games, what can you love more?! 😂
By the time Alex fights Hill he will be much improved in grappling, takedown defense, and the ground game. Alex was able to land more shots than Jiri in the clinch and the ground he looked comfortable outside of his element.
Agreed
I think I know what you're saying
Hill will strike with Alex no doubt about it he never wrestles anyone
I think hill is gonna finish Alex. Stylistically I feel he can apply pressure on Alex without leaving himself open for counters. I say this because look at the success jiri had when pressuring Alex, he rocked him multiple times, it was only when he blitzed Alex into punching/hook range in a linear manner that Alex was able to time the left hook. The only issue for hill would be the leg kicks but straight striking stylistically hill is a bad match up for Alex. I'ma prolly get sht for saying this but everyone will see when they fight cause I know people think hill is some type of scrub right now but they'll be surprised soon enough (should be come back how he was before the injury)
@@jayyy2561 honestly hill is a great boxer he’s got good power and good timing he won’t be undersized he’s just gotta keep his defense up and not give away them leg kicks but same time I can see Alex flatten him if hill is down to just strike and he doesn’t have to worry of a takedown
Thank you for the quick reaction Mouse! Always appreciate the imput from a true master of his craft.

It could have got worse Jiri was primed to get mounted and I'd hate to imagine what Alexs strikes feel like with Gravity on his side
I kept telling people that if the ref let it go for another 5-10 seconds. Jiri's career and health would've been gone. The ref made a good call
If it goes to the ground Jiri 100% recovers
Softer without his hips. Gravity does nothing.
He was safer in that mount then he was at the start of the match 🤷♂️
That’s why the stoppage was early. We genuinely don’t know if Alex would have gotten a successful mount or if Jiri could evade. Alex fell not into a proper full mount he was very high. For proper ground and pound he would have had to adjust

Great breakdown champ
The left from Alex rocked Jiri and those elbows made him go limp a second time when he was trying for a double leg. If he was in a guillotine and his arms went limp for a second they'd end it. How many times does someone have to be out for it to be a good stoppage? He was out and said it himself.

0:35 man, they try to take him down. Obviously its not as easy as one might think
Love you Goat
I actually think Jiri can Outstrike Alex, but with different gameplan, he should have utilized his reach and use more jabs, get in get out, but not getting too close to him where you are in danger of a counter, which is what happened.
The unfortunate thing for him is that he actually outstruck him both rounds, but lost on TKO. He was winning most of the exchanges slightly and then confirming it with takedowns, but was taking more long term damage. And being affraid of more damage and not knowing what to do, he started the stand&bang which didn't end well. Pereira has an insane predator instinct when it comes to analysing certain weakness in his opponents. It's like he intentionally always kicks to the broken ribs, figuratively.
Jiri realizes this and admits it in his interviews, I still think he has a good chance at beating anyone in his division. I hope he comes back soon. Pereira doesn't match up well against opponents with heavy takedown power obviously, so we will see what Ankalaev can do. Jiri on the other hand is almost unfinishable when it comes to submission artists. What a great year for light heavyweight is coming.
ALL FAX AGAIN DJ! FROM ANOTHER DJ! I do want to add tho jiri did land a takedown if im not mistaken in the first round but alex has really high quality defense when taken down which was something he also had to use in the jan fight
my goat
I originally picked Andrade but went back and switched to Dern 😂 I feel so dumb now lol I really expected Dern to have more tools for getting fight to ground. She looked extremely limited in that sense to me, I was flabbergasted.. I thought Alex and Sergei would win, surprised but very happy for Tom Aspinall. Congrats to Alex and Tom. Great vid as always Champ 🐐 DJ
she has always been like that. Her striking isn't good or fluid and her wrestling sucks as well. In a way she is quite similar to Kron Gracie that doesn't have good striking to win on the feet and doesn't have good enough wrestling to take down someone with good takedown defense.
Alex VS Jiri stoppage could be seen as early, but you could never call it a BAD stoppage. Ref had several reasons to call the fight, so he did, completely understandable rematch tho!
the way Mackenzie Dean fell down reminded me of a certain type of video lol

Jiri said it was a good stoppage,
So it takes the wind out that sail.
I picked Jiri, love all the guys on the main card, so I knew all the results were gonna be bittersweet.
How much wrestling training, with 'X' fighter/coach, do you think it would take to be an elite wrestler in the UFC right now?
Most surprising thing for me was how limited Dern looked for getting fight to ground. It's just confusing to me idk

Jiri statement is lost in his own translation and weird way of talking. 100% early stoppage.
his team is so dope , that maybe , hell try for a heavyweight belt in a year or two
it did look a little early but it made sense alex caught jiri with the right and left hook and jiri gets dropped then holds the legs for a take down then getting elbowed lets go of the take down and drops again idk i think it was a good stoppage
"When I see people they try to beat someone where their game is the best, you are climbing up a very very tall mountain, a VERY tall mountain"
When Jon Jones was at his PEAK this is exactly how he was winning his fights and this is why I still consider Bones the GOAT. He dominated fighters in areas they were considered the best.
Tom vs Setgei is one of those fights that if they fought 5 more times, it would probably be 3-3. Just who catches who first.
@tjwins7126
To be fair. Most high level heavyweight matchups are like that. Sergei might not have actually been rocked after all seeing where that punch landed. It definitely hit around the ear. That causes the greatest fighters to lose their balance and fall due to their equilibrium being messed up. Happens sometimes.
Whoever gets the good hit wins is basically almost every HW match
@@thebatman-lr1sq
Basically. It is one main reason why the heavyweight belt hasn't been defended in UFC no more than 3 times and that was in 2018 when Stipe beat Francis.
A good strategy to fight calf kick: mirroring.
Fight southpaw when your opponent fight orthodox, switch orthodox when he fight Southpaw.
The kicker needs momentum to unload the maximum amount of power, so the rear leg will be often used, calf kick from the front are closer tythe target but the gap is too short to gain a lot of momentum.
It's not perfect but it reduces the impact of the kick if your opponent is too skilled with low kick, plus committing from the front leg makes one stand on one leg for, opening a window for a counter from the rear leg or a jab.
That's the plan but in the words of the great philosopher Mike Tyson:
"Everybody has a plan until one gets punched in the mouth..."
We need to STOP THESE EARLY STOPPAGES in such important fights! It completely ruined the moment. Was so unsatisfying. Even Alex got robbed. Not just Jiri. They both deserve to Go to WAR! WTF! How do they let all these fights go all out, but the main fight was stopped the moment jiri got wobbled.. give them the chance to fight thru because we've seen momentum swings where they get wobbled and fight thru it.. it robbed BOTH FIGHTERS!
They deserve to go to war? What kind of stupid take is that?
Dumb take, they don't need to die for you to feel satisfied.
Too bad jiri already said that he was out
This was one of those cards where the results really didn't matter since both of the guys were favorable. I was rooting for Sergei, but damn, after watching that performance. Aspinall is on his way to become one of the best to ever do it at HW
Might mouse is truly legend and Goat of MMA
I feel like most people saw that Jiri somewhat looked good before and simply wanted it to go on but for me it was fine Jiri couldn't handle it in that moment and Alex creates so much power with his arms that so many punches where he tries to knock you out could give him probably serious brain damage and he look overwhelmed

What did you think about that stoppage? I personally think it was a little quick they there to fight let them settle it
