How To Block A Contact In WhatsApp & Are They Notified?

To block a contact in Whatsapp open their contact info and choose the option to Block Contact. Blocked contacts do not receive any indication they have been blocked. Messages are seen as undelivered and calls are unanswered. Blocked contact also will not see your status updates.

Yeah but what about if the contact has been deleted via the phone and not WhatsApp. Does the picture still disappear or would you just never see they are online ?

I have the same question. I see the person's profile on wasap. One checkmark on my last message. And call went unanswered.. does it mean deleted from all contac lists including the wasap?
However I chose on settings to keep off my online status. I don't see people's and they cannot see mine; which is ok by me.

Yes but there is a way see when someone has been blocked and that is with his/her contact picture.

If I were to block someone and they sent me a message would they see 2 'ticks' indicating message had hit my phone, or only 1 as they would when my phone is off? (hopefully it's 1)

i delelted all messages first. I d like to block but the contact has been deleted. Do i have to reinstate the intended to be blocked person and then block correctly? is there another way?

no. Picture will again.dissapear . Mostly. Unless you send message when you unblock

I blocked and it asked if I wanted to report him. I said yes but then lost all of our whatsapps which clearly show I told him I wanted nothing to do with him but he insists. I need these whatapps back.

It's been a while since I tested this (so I could be wrong) but yes, I think they can. Old messages stay on their phone.
