Love seeing new tile tools to help my crappy tile work look better lol
same here bro i did this after putting tile on
Love tile tool Tuesday😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Love it brother. Amazing job
Will save time too I always use the diamond hand stone takes forever lol
Any videos of you using these pads for actual polishing?
Appreciate your videos
As always, an excellent review of a product. I was lost looking for a kit like this online, but problem was solved here within minutes. Awesome!
Great review, great T-shirt!
Thanks!
Nice. I do stonework. I like to put each pad on a backer pad so I'm not ripping them on and off.
hi
great video, thanks
Nice t-shirt!
I use PVA pads for tile and soft stone like Travertine….Cheap and easy dry polishing….Alpha tools sells them…
Great vid. Ty
Very nice
I had to do exactly that last week to create an outside 45°. Used my wet polisher dry. Pickiest customer ever. Next time I will charge accordingly
Gets the job done
would like to see the stone polished. and how would you get the shiny surface on the sides as well?
just wanted to make a comment for safety purposes, I bought the exact product mentioned here and used on my non-variable speed angle grinder, based on the OP's comment that he was using a regular grinder. The 5th time I used it, the rubber attachment for the polishing pads explosively failed and threw itself at very high speed across the room, along with the small tile I was working on. I don't know if the rubber attachment was defective, or if it was a result of mis-use since I was using a standard, non-variable speed angle grinder, but be very cautious.
Battery powered or 120volt? Huge difference in RPM s
@@chriscall3425battery powered
Same with me on a rubber backer. Not same as what he is using but it hit my leg when it exploded and felt like a baseball impacting my leg. Very painful and a very nasty bruise.
That’s on you. Every disc has a max RPM warning.
@@chriscall3425that's not what determines rpms
Thanks, question my polished glazed porcelain has swirls marks and scratches, can i use this? What grits? Everything is good except the swirls marks
Hi Sir I have a question. My porcelain floor tiles has smudges maybe from foot traffic, can i polished it using this polishing pads to make it shiny again? Also do i need to put something after polishing? Thank you
What diamond wheel is that btw?
thank you for all the videos you do for us, appreciate you. do you make the cut just a hair wider knowing it's going to be rubbed out?
I do
For a moment I thought that box you had in your hands was a covid test kit. 😁
What is the maximum speed at which these should be used ? I have seen multiple reviews suggesting that such a pollishing system should NOT be used with a fixed speed grinder (typically > 10,000 rpm).
what did yo use to make the bevel on the last demo?
Nice video but would like to see these disks used on travertine stone tks
thanks great job, my wife used a lysol gel paste cleaner for tubs/bowls, that penetrated our floor tavertine /ceramic section with white /grey streaks, i heard using diamond polishing pads to remove the superficial layer streaks, than stone sealer would do the trick?also, what grit do you use on the pad? any other method i can use, espically i dont have the diamond polishing tools/pads nor exp. to remove the streaks? I heard sealer with gloss will not last. thanks!
Long time don’t know if you remember your results how did the project go ?
And may I ask which product or how the process went ? What tools, techniques, product did you use …
@@mr.swagily2659 NP, i used a one of those stone enhancers that 'masked' or glazed the entire tile floor, only way u can see it is if u shine flash lite on it, and its been a year already, but i heard i may have to reapply, i put two coats, it was that blue bottle miracle co. stone sealer/enhancer i believe just apply with foam brush, smells like kerosine, dry it...its at lowes.... so no grinding needed
Do you prefer the foam back hand pads or this style for cleaning cut edges better? Thanks!
foam diamond pads is what we use most of the time, quick and easy
👍
In the description of the polishing kit on amazon it says max 4000 rpm, can i still use them for light jobs on my angle grinder (11000 rpm) ?
Nop.
Will burn the tile or WHEREVER you need it.
Or will waste your disk diamond.
Or will let tou marks of burning on your tile.
What kind of grinder is that?
Grinder battery se chalta h kya
Nice! I have very similar pads, but I only have a random orbital sander, will it work? Cheers!
Yes it will
👏🏽👏🏽
Don’t use these dry pads for engineered stone! Reason is the stone uses a plastic binder that the dry pads melt. The result is a dirty gunky smear across your cut edge. This is not, in my experience, a problem for the coarser grits (400 max) but 800, 1500 and 3,000 cause the problem.
Either use the pads wet and tuned between passes or forget them and use wet/dry paper.
If you have water polishing quartz with diamond pads is fine. If not, we’ve come to find regular fine grit sandpaper polishes quartz much easier. Far to easy to burn like you said with diamond pads.
I was using similar pads on slate, but keep getting circular marks from the pads? I don't know if it's the wrong grit or because it was dry. Also, using a Makita grinder without variable speed. Any ideas?
The kit recommends 4,000rpm maximum and 2,500rpm is preferred. Is your deWalt grinder variable speed?
All polishing must be done with a grinder that will run at low RPM. So a variable speed is the only way.
Is that dewalt cordless a variable speed grinder?
negative
I get everything except why I need a variable speed grinder. Could you explain for me please. Thanks.
The wheels aren't made to go as fast as a single speed grinder
@davegordon6943 is it better so or even essential to get a variable speed grinder? Your ordinary grinder done fine here right? Is a mini grinder slower/more suitable than a 9'' grinder?
Can you explain the difference between polishing pads and sanding pads? I am interested to know how polishing pads sanded down the cut. I lay porcelain slabs outdoors and looking for the best pads for sanding the chipped cuts.
Polishing pads attach with a grinder and will eat away at the material much more quicker. Diamond polishing pads and used by hand as I'm sure you know. Porcelain edges can be cleaned up with both. Tile on! 👊
Make stone shiny tho?
Do you have a step by step video on polishing tile floors?
Sorry I don't
Why not just a 200 grit fleximont. Solves ALL problems
Do they make one for drills?
I'm not sure, that's a good question
It’s hilarious to me how a review can be so poor… Here, let me show how this one disc bevels and edge I hold the tile up to the camera for a millisecond so you can see how great it did. I’ll do a similar task on a different tile. Wow, look how awesome. What do you mean it’s blurry? Pay no attention to the other discs in the box. All you ever need to do is grind down and edge 🙄 This is a great set, take my word for it. I know none of you came here to see the product actually do something productive.
… so poor, yet so many people say it’s a great video. I wonder if they saw a different video than I did?
damn, was it that bad? not sure if there are any other polishing disc vids on youtube, send me a link so i can do another that suits your needs
@@LandbergTileTV I'm curious what the point of your comment is? I clearly laid out the numerous flaws in your video, but your reply ignores the flaws, and you want me to do your job to improve the poor video? I guess that's the quality of comment I should expect from the quality of the video presented.
When using the diamond foam-backed hand blocks, what grit do you use to clean up porcelain or ceramic? Not polish, just “clean up”
Great content! Thanks!
We use 50 and 60 grit only. Dip it in water before polish the cut edge down, helps a little.
@@LandbergTileTV thanks!
That worked to clean up porcelain edges? Looking to clean up the little micro chips. Do you have a link for the product you used?
What tool are you using starting around min 3:28? Thanks!
My old Dewalt grinder 20v attached with a diamond blade and polishing pad.
@@LandbergTileTV Thanks!
Has anyone tried to polish matte tile
Excuse me, what number do you use for the 45 cuts?
What do you mean?
@@LandbergTileTV He wants to know which grit.
Where could i buy it ?
Links are in the video description.
I need dry polish
manufacturer says max 4000 rpm. Grinders are way faster than that.. any issues?
Standard grinder is too fast, will wear pads excessively quickly, as well as cause failure of the rubber backer. Also, ever hear of silicosis? Just curious.
correct, I have a review coming up with the new cordless Dewalt grinder
Earmuff brand, noise canceling I assume?
During demonstration u did not use gloves, face shield, your grinder no have safety cover over disc.no have side handle, when ever u want to chang disc please disconnect it first.
What’s the point of using a dustless saw when your creating dust cleaning the edge of the tile?
What is your job title...or are you cleaner?
what is a cleaner?
The max speed on these are 4000rpm. Recommended 2500rpm.
How are they lasting on your flex volt grinder?? Which is obv a lot more
they hold up great!
I was just wondering that too. I did notice he emphasized "variable" speed, so I wonder if he uses slower speeds. My corded Dewalt only has one speed - 11,000. I have to imagine that's way too much?
@@ofiasdfnosdf , i would have liked to know the rpm he was using also. what i do know is at 3500 rpm these pads do not do what his video shows. (they are painfully slow) at least on porcelain. which makes me think hes running the rpm above the recommended rpm.
the pads are glued on to the velcro. so id bet @ 11,000 rpm theyd get hot fast and delaminate. possibly burn the tile also? not sure about that though.
Been curious but honestly I doubt they can really polish and buff
ALPHA PAD is KING
Not flex pads
Remove the caps
It’s STUPID
