  • Drum Cover of Bob Marley's Jammin'
    I didn't mean to play it verbatim. I was recording other drum covers for other people that day and figured I'd record a couple of myself.
    Serious respect to Bob Marley for creating such awesome music. I wanted to make this a tribute to him.

    • @tame1999
      @tame1999 Před 9 lety

      I play reggae professionally and of the two ways to hold the stick I prefer using the tip-side, especially if the song calls for a broader dynamic range. For a straight one drop the butt end's great, though.

    • @drummerclint
      @drummerclint  Před 9 lety +1

      I totally agree with you Roy, you definitely get a nice fat crack with the butt end. However, it's a lot more difficult to play more intricate fills and rolls when you have the stick backwards and constantly spinning the stick accurately is a pain. If you your stick and snare well, you'll know where the sweet spots are and can getaway with tip ended rim shots. You're also completely right about the authenticity of the breaks as well. haha

    • @skankhunt-vw8xr
      @skankhunt-vw8xr Před 9 lety

      Spinning the stick around back and fourth is difficult but these are things that I always forced myself to do so as to become a better drummer. Anything hard will eventually become easier to do with repetition. Not saying that you have to play this way, just mentioning it.
