    OFFICIAL LYRICS:
    Our voices echo on a quiet night
    Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
    Moon and sun
    A birthing rite in this duality
    Embrace the feeling of our human skin intertwining now in ecstasy
    Lie in the circle of a few who stain our bodies with their own blood
    The blessing is given as the child grows
    A family burdened with a line full of evil
    Sacrifice
    Now you can live to see another day
    Embrace the feeling of our human skin intertwining now in ecstasy
    Lie in the circle of a few who stain our bodies with their own blood
    Our voices echo on a quiet night
    Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
    Moon and sun
    A birthing rite in this duality
    These voices echo so violently
    A congregation with a line full of evil
    Sacrifice
    Now you can live to see another day

      There's a video online where Spencer explains the whole story of Juggernaut, but doesn't say what happens in the end. Given how the album ends with the unreversed intro, my guess is the main character got his wish to reborn.. only to repeat the life he already lived, due his violent personalities being reborn with him. You could take it a step further and assume that the entire "line full of evil" is the same person being reborn again and again throughout time, and that's his curse. Shit can get pretty crazy the more you read into it.

    • @jeromecaldwell7152
      @jeromecaldwell7152 Před 3 lety

      I think it shows a paradox or a continuous time loop in the story, after graveless where our protagonists is tricked/guilted into taking his own life, hell below is his journey downward omega is his experience in that realm and stranger things is where he is at the end of his stay and transcends that realm somehow or so he thinks only being born again into the cult mentioned in a black minute as the anti-christ (not SPECIFICALLY the anti-christ but as the embodiment of negative polarity, other songs definitely hint at it being the anti christ but i think all that story building is there to make it understandable/relatable)

  • @sacredxgeometry
    @sacredxgeometry Před 9 lety +27

    I know I've probably said this already, but the all time best part of this album is how they allowed the concept of the albums loop indefinitely, which is obviously a major characterization of this release, being a concept album- if you listen to the end of Stranger Things, you will hear the sort of carillon synth playing in the back, which comes right into A Black Minute's intro. It's almost as if it is saying, "neither album comes first", and you decide which does, as the two stories are of one mind now. It's just genius in my opinion.

    My Take on What Juggernaut Alpha is About:
    1.Black Minute- The story starts off in a ritual of a child being brought into a cult. He has been raised (Or brainwashed?) into killing in order to see another day.
    2. MK Ultra (Acid)- As we find out he was actually brainwashed by acid. To commit murder as a way of life. Jazz parts are actually him blacking out from shock of what he is and what he does.
    3. Heavy Heart- Wakes up. Has to go on a patrol with his cult to find more members. In the backseat of their vehicle while rain is drizzling on the window he wishes none of this never happened and he needs to get away from these people. Car stops as they find a group of people traveling on foot. The cult slaughters them. As the children scream and are being kidnapped, their mothers are being hung upside down.
    4. The Event- Instrumental about Ceremony to the new children that were kidnapped and being inducted by rite.
    5.The Scourge- Now he's a Teenager. All he wants is a second chance at life. So now he wants to commit suicide in hopes to be reincarnated. But as he tries to kill himself, the cult chants in his ear to survive and he is brainwashed again by the MK ULTRA. Now he wants to commit some more murders for the moment lol.
    6. Alpha- Gathers up the other children that have been brought into the lifestyle that they should all man up and revolt against this upbringing, time to rebel. So they all do.Chorus is the Pep Talk.
    7. 22 Faces- On the run, It seems they have been running forever, but from what theirselves? What is the point? They don't know how to survive with basic human emotions, all they know is murder.
    8. Rainbow Gravity- More contemplation.
    9. Four Lights- Cult Leaders are looking for them. Panic sets in *instrumental*
    10. Psychosphere- His mind is telling him to lay low instead of acting out, but his sadistic mind is telling him to kill them motherfuckers. Finally gives up and fucking kills them slow..... Outro is the act of him murdering them slowly and him walking away.

    Has anyone else started to piece together the story yet? A black minute seems to be about a kid being born and having some kind of predetermined fate of some sort, or being born for a purpose; said purpose seems to be negative. MK ultra was a government mind control program from the 50s and paired with the lyrics leads me to believe some government or powerful establishment has the character under their control. Heavy hearts and psychosphere both imply the character does bad deeds that he's forced to do, but that and kind of detail a split personality; possibly a contrast between what the character wants and what he's being mind controlled to do. And while I haven't looked in depth into rainbow gravity's lyrics, rainbow gravity is a theory about the universe being eternal and never starting and or stopping so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Anyone else have any input here?

    • @XxTRIPPINGxxGUITARxX
      @XxTRIPPINGxxGUITARxX Před 9 lety +2

      My original theory was a person's journey after a dark experiment, but it seems you're correct. Matt stated in an interview that the story follows the life of a child who was born into a sadistic cult, his escape, and subsequent life choices.

    • @AuningProductions
      @AuningProductions Před 9 lety +20

      (Possible spoilers to those who haven't listened to it all)
      The lyrics in "The Bad Thing" really hint at a split personality or inner war. In particular, the lines that are sung in cleans such as "And is it this desire that you're looking for? Or is insanity just knocking at your door?" I believe are his sane side trying to reason with the part of him that wants to kill (possibly to get revenge on the sadistic cult that's been plaguing his life?). Notice that all of the lyrics screamed in that song are very nihilistic and hateful, where as the cleans involve lines that are often resembling reason and concern. I don't think the scream/clean choices were arbitrary, but rather, to highlight the "sides" in an inner debate.
      The line in Psychosphere "Pushing and pulling going on within my brain says to lay low" directly implies an internal conflict: detailing a split personality like you said. Notice that such lines are sung in cleans, and as that song progresses, it all turns to screams as he gets murderous and just sounds absolutely psychotic, which is partially reflected in the lyrics "I've got a life to live and a life to end", implying that THAT part of him needs to "kill them" to move on.
      Going to touch upon a few things you may find interesting:
      In Priestess, it seems that the character accepts his sadness. As a note: in Alpha, there's a line:
      "Step out in the rain, feel life in our veins."
      And now in Priestess:
      "Step out in the rain, and feel the deep sorrow."
      By the end of Priestess:
      "Step out in the rain TO feel the deep sorrow."
      That last line implies he accepts and even embraces his sadness. The song trails off with an ominous and foreboding instrumental melody to build suspense for the coming song, where the character takes his own life (Graveless). Another thing: "Light is calling from the narrow road" is likely foreshadowing his intentions, which are put into action in Graveless.
      In Graveless, the character happily ("a smile now rips open") takes his own life ("fuck me, i can't repent. by my own end, i shall bury my own life"), clearly as he feels he can't repent for the evil he has committed (possibly regarding what happened in Psychosphere). Graveless fades out with the guitar's feedback ringing very loudly, which is akin to one's ears ringing. The character is definitely now dead.
      Hell Below hits instantly and without any warning. Shit just got real, and the huge change in atmosphere denotes a significant change in the story and context. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the album, as it's like reality just hit the character. He's thrown into seemingly a bigger mess than he was in originally. "No body, no mind, a spirit left to die." Really nailing in a sense of despair; it seems there is no hope and he has nothing left.

    • @WeaponXDrums
      @WeaponXDrums Před 9 lety

      AuningProductions I think its about a murderer how keeps on second thinking himself about his righteous ways and his killing. Spoilers ahead BTW but throughout this whole album its a personal struggle within himself to find a reason for his killing and why he enjoys it so much. It ends with him thinking theres no other way out so might as well kill. This goes into Omega. It starts off with the bad thing and how he kills and kills but finds this person (Priestess) that questions his killing again. In Priestess he says he finds love in one of them. He himself feels like a beast and sees himself different from "normal" humans. Anyways, he says give me a reason give me a reason to kill this girl right? In the end of all this contemplating, he takes his own life and is taken to hell. Enter Hell Below. Hes in hell, the demons are pulling him down and he begins to repent but realizes its to fucking late. And then twinkle twinkle little star plays because dj0nt. In Omega, he sees a light from above and the ghosts/spirits of all the people he has killed and comes to conclusion that he deserves hell but he is still a man of worth and casts away the demon inside of him or his split personality. Now for the last song, he gets beamed up to heaven. Thats fuckin dope.

    On my first listen I didn't appreciate this song as much, a week after the release I finally realized how fucking amazing this song is. If you bypass this song, please reconsider and take the time to allow the song to build up and be amazed!\m/

    My theory for this song is that the parents of the main character are having sex from the verse "embrace the feeling of our human skin, intertwining now in ecstasy" to preform ritual In the birth of the main character. I also notice a women having blood poured on her so that kinda led me to that too. So pretty much this song is saying how the character is born. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong?

    • @usafschue
      @usafschue Před 9 lety +5

      Yes, this is the ritual of his birth.
      This is one of the rituals described on the albums.

    I really like how atmospheric this song is, I actually really dig this. It makes me think of something that could have been on Thrice's (RIP) Vheissu (see; Atlantic, Red Sky, or Music Box) which is awesome. This song really stands on its own.
    However, honestly, what I've heard off of this double album so far has been pretty hit or miss, which is kind of a shame because I genuinely believe that Periphery II is one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard and most of Periphery I was really spectacular as well. What I'm ultimately hoping for is some sense of cohesion between the songs since this is supposed to be a concept album, and I haven't heard much of that thus far from this, and that the songs that have been a "miss" for me will gain a new light in the scheme of things when contextualised. Here's hoping, but so far, I'm not very optimistic. We will see on the 27th though, and my opinion may change, and this will turn into nothing more than the ramblings of a madman.

    Reminds me of a heavier Muramasa from P:II. In all honesty, Spencers vocal style as not changed at all, he's just trying out new things with his sound and I personally love it. Everyone who says he sounds poppy or are just hating in general should take a step back from their elitist metal mindset where if you're not growling like some kind of pig demon than obviously youre a homosexual. Also love the Viljavibes I get from that ambient lead at the last bit. Really great stuff guys

    Our voices echo on a quiet night
    Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
    Moon and Sun
    A birthing right in this duality
    Embrace the feeling of our human skin
    intertwining now in ecstasy
    Lie in the circle of a few who stain
    (our bodies with their own blood)
    The blessings given as the child grows
    A family burdened with a life full of evil
    Sacrifice
    Now you can live to see another day
    Embrace the feeling of our human skin
    intertwining now in ecstasy
    Lie in the circle of a few who stain
    our bodies with their own blood
    (Embrace the feeling of a soul within)
    (Lie in the circle of a few who stain)
    our bodies with their blood
    Our voices echo on a quiet night
    Silver faces, an unholy cathedral
    Moon and Sun
    A birthing right in this duality
    These voices echo so violently
    A complication with a life full of evil
    Sacrifice
    Now you can live to see another day
